HT201210 when updating it gives me an error message about my network timing out even though it never did?
I've been trying to update my phone but every time it takes me like 20min and at the end it says that "the update could not be completed because my network time out and for me to check the network connection" I do have wifi and it never turned off during the updates can some one help please!!
If you can't restore it in recovery mode then you'll have to try DFU mode to restore it (see

For the past 2-3 months everytime I connect my iPhone or iPod touch to my laptop to update the software through itunes I have issues. I have tried download and install option and the download only option. When the progress bar gets to 100 % downloading and switches to start to install I get an error message that says something like connection issue/timed out/network something. My internet is working so what am I doing wrong when I didn't used to have this problem?
I've been getting timed out for 2 days now, what finally worked for me was not plugging the phone into the computer and just doing the update through my wifi, worked perfectly, took less than 15 minutes

Any help is appreciated
first if you are on a windows computer, turn off any security software, including windows firewall in your computers control panel then if that doesnt work
try another usb port on teh computer (if on a desktop plug it into the back of the tower)
try connecting the internet directly to the computer if using wifi
last but not least if none of that works delete itunes and all the other programs that come with the install
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 has a list of programs to uninstall, it also has a link to the steps f you are on windows XP if youre on a mac thats snow leopard or lion through itunes into the trash and empty trash andit will delete -
I can not dowload the new updated software for my Ipod touch 4G. When i do I get an error message that says Network connection has timed out. I have done the trouble shooting steps. Downloaded the latest version of Itunes, and checked network connection
Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

Cannot update to latest software. error message states internet connection timed out
Does anyone have a similar problem? I cannot update to the latest software for my I Phone 4. The error message says, internet connection timed out. Which is obviously has not. It also says check your internet settings. I am not sure what that means. I have windows 7.
If the disabling the firewall doesnt help, then also try disabling your anti-virus, this was what was causing me an issue.
Although make sure you re-enable both your firewall and anti-virus after the update completes. -

It gives me this error message:

I can't find that error listed anywhere on the iTunes support site. How can I fix this?

some folks have been having some success with pgfpdwife's technique in the following post:

note carefully that the technique involves a registry edit. be sure to make a backup of any keys you edit. if you're unfamiliar with your registry or registry editing, head to your XP help and support, do a search on registry, and read through the articles that come up.
There are also some instructions on how to back up registry keys in the following document:

When updating 11.3, windows 7, error message "itunes has an invalid signature"
when updating 11.3 in windows 7, get error message "itunes has an invalig signature"
That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer? -
When I attempt to download new updates or purchases to my ipod touch generation 3, it starts to download, then gives me the message that the network has timed out and I need to check the connection. I don't understand this because each time I have an active internet connection. Any idea why this is happening?
This is asked and answered very often on these forums. A forum search bar is on the right side of this page.
Disable your firewall/security software and try again. -
When updating my IPAD I get a message saying: The network connection timed out.h
When trying to update IPAD, got a message saying "There was a problem downloading the software for the IPAD. The network connection timed out".
My connection has been tested and there are no problems.Try temporarily turning off your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed. if that doesn't work then try downloading the update via a browser : https://discussions.apple.com/message/16436025#16436025
