no, the backlight works. it's the display that doesn't. it had the problem even before i took it somewhere. also, it says the IMEI is invalid, because the phone isn't on it's network anymore. i was going to unlock it, but since the screen isn't working, i can't do that.

Hold down on the sleep button and the home button at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Ignore the red slider. When the logo appears let go of the buttons.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My battery was on 5% battery life yesterday afternoon. The battery died before I had a chance to go charge it. Now it won't turn on at all. Its been more than 24 hours at this point. I have tried restarting it several times by holding the power and home buttons down at the same time, the apple logo comes on but nothing further happens. I left it to charge all night and nothing. I have connected it to my mac to try to reset it but it does not even recognize that my iphone is connected. Still nothing happens. Any suggestions are kindly welcomed and appreciated!

I recently did the latest update, and then I charged my Ipad 2 afterwards. I went to use my Ipad 2 days later, and it would not even turn on. Then after a couple minutes, the apple logo appeared as if it were loading. It continued to do this for a few minutes, and then the screen starting turning on and off. Then 5 minutes after that, my lock screen appeard and froze. Then it shut itself off again. I tried plugging my ipad into Itunes to do the recovery restore, but I kept getting error messages.

I took my iPhone to AT&T after I tried to update to iOS 6 and the phone said I needed to insert the original sim card which was what was in the device. AT&T said to take it to apple because it had to be a software issue. I get to the apple store and they tell me because I replaced my phone because of the defective shutter malfunction the "genius" entered in the wrong serial number by one digit causing the phone to turn into a UK phone and they could not fix it unless I have some sort of reciept or email saying it came from Apple. Mind you this is a year later with a move from TX to HI as well! So what am I able to do?? be out of a phone because they messed up?? They told me I could outright buy a new phone which I am NOT going to do because this phone worked before.

I cant find any reciept in my email or in my husbands email. I am going to attempt to call and speak to someone who can help me because this was not my fault except trying to be normal and update my phone!

After double clicking Firefox icon on desktop screen is black. Tried uninstalling and downloading. Didn't help. What can I do?

When I double click the Firefox icon on my desktop it brings me to a black screen rather than the Google start page. I tried updating Firefox and that didn't help. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but that did not help. I am using Microsoft Explorer to download and send this message. I have never had this problem before. Any ideas to help me get rid of the black screen so Firefox is functioning? Thanks in advance. Molly

Hi Molly, you probably found the answer in another thread by now, but this is caused by Firefox 33 being incompatible with older graphics card/chipset driver software. You will have to contact orange to get your phone unlock. ONly the carrier that the phone is locked to can unlock the phone.

You cannot return to previous state. The update re-locked the iPhone
to the original carrier. You must contact the original carrier to see if
they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Be advised that if your iPhone had previously been hacked/modified/
jailbroken to work with other than original carrier, it may be impossible
for the original carrier to unlock it properly.
