HT201269 When setting up my new iphone 5 from another iphone 5 (different carrier) I omitted to click on - Restore from iCloud back up. Now I can't see how to do it automatically. Is there a way of doing it after already connecting to iTunes?
After connecting my new iphone 5 to iTunes, I did not choose restore from iCloud Backup or iTunes Back up. I just clicked on New iPhone, because I was installing a new iphone 5 with a different carrier and sim etc. Now I don't have the option to go back. I have backed up my old phone to iCloud, so should I click on - Restore iPhone to get all the saved data from iTunes?
I found the answer in another discussion group, so I have just erased everything through settings on my new iphone and in Backups on itunes, I have clicked on restore back up. So it appears to be working.

Set up the new phone as a new iPhone (without using your backup), then update it to the latest iOS (7.1.2). Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens again and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts. When setting up me new iphone - it is asking me for an iCloud password for an email address that doesnt belong to me - it is asking this info in order to retreive previously purchased items on itunes, etc. Help?
These are a couple different issues
The purchase issue means they came from a different Apple ID
You will need that Apple ID and password for those purchases
The iCloud account can be an Find My iPhone issue.
That could be the same Apple ID as the purchased or yet another one.
Once again you will need that Apple ID and password. -
i just restored my iphone 4S. everything is backed up on the icloud. i tried to restore from itunes but once its done syncing nothing happens. now it says i dont have a backup on icloud and the only other option i have is to set up as new iphone. should i do that? will it wipe out my icloud?
when i go to icloud.com all my contacts still exist, notes, etc. is my iphone gonna recognize my contacts if i set it up as a new phone?

I have an external hard drive 1 TB - it says that 559GB has been used , but I can't see any files at all.
Is there a way to recover those files. I have a lot of photos on it. I have an IMac and running MAC OSX versuib 10.7.5 I am new to Mac, so I hope somebody can give me some advice.
Cheersif it's ntfs microsofts filesystem then you need a windows machine to recover them

I accidentally clicked Forget Device in bluetooth on my iPad and I cannot figure how to undo that. Is there any way to be able to recognize the device again?
Put the device back into discovery mode and the iPad will see it again. Make sure the Bluetooth is ON in Settings and look at the devices seen.

When i synced my new iphone to my pc i clicked the wrong button - instead of restoring it from my old phone's last backup i clicked set up as new iphne - now it appears all my old texts and my notes have gone. Any ideas how I can get them back?
When you plug it into iTunes - it will show on the left side of the screen. Right click on it, and you will have a list of restores to use. Pick the one you want, and it will pull all of that data. It worked on mine...

When setting up my new phone I must have skipped past the set up your phone on itunes. How do I go back and download all my stuff from my old phone?
Unless you have already loaded a bunch of data the easisest way would be to go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

My iPhone 4 was recently stolen, so I erased it via the Find my iPhone app. I'm planning to get a new one and will want to restore it so it has all the data and setting from my old phone, but when I log into iTunes my old device isn't showing in the device list. If it's not showing in the device list how can I restore the content to my new phone?

Why would it? Devices only appear in the list when they are connected to iTunes either physically via a cable or via Wi-Fi.

I wanted to update my iPod and after I had done it, it told me I had to restore the iPod. But now after the back-up none of the photos i had are being put back onto it. Is there a way I can get these pictures back?
- Did you restore from a backup that contained the photos?
- The backup only contains photos in the iPod's Camera Roll album. It does not included photos synced to the iPod.
- All you can do is try restoring from backup again. -
