when I purchase audiobooks on my iPad are iPod touch I put in my ID # it shows it's downloading when download complete cannot find item. only happens when download audiobooks on my iPad and iPod touch (I was able to download on my  iPad and iPod touch before)

Have you checked to see whether it's in the Music app on the device ? When you have audiobooks on an iOS device you will get an Audiobooks option under the More button at the bottom of the Music app.
Note that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store (so they won't appear in the Purchased tab for re-downloading), so you may want to copy it to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup copy of it - it should copy over to the Books part of your iTunes library.

    Normally you will be asked to provide the new prdouct serial number first, then when a qualifying version is not found you elect to provide that information and then select the version and provide its serial number.  If this is not how things are flowing for you then you should contact Adobe support directly thru chat and get their help resolving it.

    With my updates i have lost all of my Audio books that I have purchased and when I look it up it doesnt come up that I purchased any. They were all purchased from iTunes. I had about 16 Audiobooks.
    How can I get them back

    Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store - I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them that are requiring the one-time only download. Do you have copies of them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library or on your backup of your downloads ? If not, and if they are still in the store, then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download :  : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
    If you haven't got copies of them on your computer and Apple let you redownload them then take a backup copy of them and anything else that you've downloaded from the store - even with apps, ibooks, music etc there is no guarantee that they will remain in the store for future re-downloading (content providers occasionally remove their items from the store).

    It's a ringtone that you've just purchased, and you downloaded it from iTunes on your phone and the purchase went through successfully (and there isn't a Downloads tab in the iTunes store app with it still downloading) ? It should show in Settings > Sounds > Ringtone (and Text Tone), and in the Contacts for setting for individual callers (tap the Edit button on a contact). If not then have you tried a soft-reset of your phone to see if it shows after the phone has restarted ?

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

    Thank you for the advice.  I attempted this but found that when i selected my ipod from the device list i only had the option to autofill from a certain tab. I tried to use the recently  added tab which contained exactly the audiobook and songs i wanted but the shuffle would not accept the audiobook.  The itunes warning message claims i am unauthorized for the audiobook on my computer, however, i am signed into my own computer and itunes accounts (on which i purchased the audiobook)...
