HT201317 How do I upload photos in my iPad/iPhone 5 photostream more than 30 days old to my brand new iMac iPhoto?

I just bought a new iMac 21.5" and am uploading all my music and pics from my external, iPad and iPhone 5.  My iPhoto in my iMac only uploaded the last 30 days of pictures in my photostream, and I've got like 5 months worth of pictures in there that I want on my iMac.  Is there a way to load all of them at once by adjusting the time limit of how far back it loads, or do I somehow have to transfer each picture individually to my iMac from my iPhone/iPad?

Hello!
I would recommend you enable Shared Photo Streams on all your devices, then on your iOS device(s), go to Photos > Camera Roll > Edit, and tap all the photos you want to send to the Mac. Then hit the Share button and choose Photo Stream. Enter in your own email address and complete the steps. Then open iPhoto on the Mac and click Photo Stream in the sidebar. You will see the album you just created appear, double click it and your photos will begin to download. Once they're all there, select them all, right click, and choose Import. All your photos are now stored locally in iPhoto, and you can delete that Shared Photo Stream.
Or you could plug your iOS into your comuter which will open iPhoto and will allow you to import the photos, if you don't mind not doing it wirelessly.
Hope that helps!

Any thoughts? I'm bummed. I've got a few hundred photos on my iPhone that I'd like to move seemlessly - or somehow at all.

  • How can I delete photos from my iPad, iPhone, and laptop at the same time?

How can I delete photos from my iPad, iPhone, and laptop at the same time so I don't have to do it separately on each device?

Photos that were synced from your computer using iTunes can only be deleted by de-selecting them from the folder from where they were synced -  and then re-syncing.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
If you want to remove all of the Photos - uncheck the Sync Photos from Heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you are using iTunes 11 - this will be helpful, Setting up syncing in Windows.

  • Hi, My recent trip pics on my iphone are more than 30 days old and my icloud photo sharing had been turned off.  How do I now share them to my PC which is on the icloud photo sharing?  I want to save/print these once shared to my PC.  Help?

My trip pics are more than 30 days old and my icloud photo sharing was turned off.   How can I now share them to my PC for saving/printing?  My sharing is now turned on but it's not loading them?  Help?

That list includes all the apps that you installed to your device directly from iTunes on the computer, or which were purchased on the iOS device and subsequently transferred to iTunes on the computer.
If you right click on any item in that list and choose "Show in Windows Explorer" it will open your iTunes application installer directory on your computer, which should be:
    C:\Users\User\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications
In there are all your saved application installers (*.ipa files).  You need to delete those actual installer bundles and then make sure to NOT allow the "transfer purchased content" when you sync or backup in iTunes (as that will just put them back on your hard drive).
One caveat to removing those, is that if you ever wish to keep a specific release of a particular app, and the developer replaces the iTunes/App store version with something else, your sole source for your older version will be your own stored copy of it.  So for example, when PDF expert released their iOS 7 update, and charged everyone full price for it, if you wished to keep using the previous version on your own devices, then you needed to keep a copy of the installer on your own computer as that older version is no longer available in the store front.

  • How can I upload photos fromiPhoto on iPad 3 to an iMac?

    Hi
I have just purchased an iPad3 and have used iPhoto for iPad to edit photos and add captions.
Via Photostream all the original unedited photos uploaded have now been synced with iPhoto on my iMac.
What I want to do is to upload the edited iPad  iPhoto album to iPhoto on my iMac or an external HD. When I connect the iPad to the iMac all it does is  to download any missing unedited photos from Photostream.
I have tried uploading a test album to iTunes which seemed to work, but I have no idea how to find it on iTunes.
I also tried adding an edited photo to the Camera Roll but it lost the caption in the process.
I have searched on here and can't find an answer, and BTW I am an elderly non techie so please be kind :-)

Like I said I assumed that iPhoto would work the same way as other saved photos and I did miss the fact that you said you tried iPhoto on the Mac.
You said that you sent them to iTunes and that should have been the giveaway - I think. IPhoto apparently utilizes file sharing. Maybe this will help.

Open the photos app on your iPad and tap the photo you wish to upload to MobileMe. Tap the button next to the 'slideshow' button and you should get an option to upload the pic to your MobileMe account.

  • HT201317 How do I delete photos on my ipad?

I am unable to delete individual photos, and albums on my new ipad. How do I get round this problem?

You can delete photos in any album except Photo Library by opening the album, tapping Edit, tap the photos you want to delete, tap Delete.  To delete photos from the photo library album, you have to connect your iPad to your computer, go to the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and uncheck the folders containging the photos you want to delete (or to delete the all, uncheck Sync Photos), then click Apply at the bottom to sync your iPad.

  • How do I get photos from aperture to iPhone?

so far, photostream seems to be working fine as far as moving pics from my iPhone to Aperture 3/iPhoto.
After the IOS5 update, I realized I have none of the pictures on my phone I originally had.
Is there a new process to get pictures from Aperture / iPhoto to my iPhone or is it the same plug and sync routine?
    Thanks

I think the original poster may have the same issue I'm facing...
iTunes does not sync Aperture pictures to the iPhone if they originate from Photostream! That is, in Aperture I have events like "Jan 2012 Photostream", "Feb 2012 Photostream" and so on. But those events do not sync with the iPhone via iTunes! That's why the photos that originally used to be on the Photostream, but have since deleted because they have become more than 30 days old, are no longer on your iPhone.
I've been trying with AppleCare to sort out the issue, but so far they don't seem to know what's causing it. I think it's probably a bug in either Aperture or iTunes.

  • How do I upload photos from my PC to my ipad without deleting the photos already on my ipad?

How do I upload photos from my PC to my ipad without deleting the photos already on my ipad???

The iTUnes sync syncs the contents of a folder you choose. ANd it handles only one folder at a time.
What I did to keep things straight, was to make a separate folder inside the 'my photos' part of my computer. Then put in that folder copies of things I wanted on my iPad. I could then add/remove from that folder as the mood struck and since everything in there was a copy I wouldn't lose any. (you would add/remove from the folder, then do a sync to allow iTunes to update that folder on  your iPad to match the folder on your PC)
Another way, to get away from maintaining a folder, if you don't have a ton of photos, just e-mail them to yourself, save them from that e-mail. Keep them on the iPad as long as you like, then you can delete them as you wish. Photos that are synced onto the iPad must be synced off (as in removed from that folder then a sync performed to remove them)
E-mailing the photos to yourself gives you more flexibility in managing them on the iPad.
