Using logical files to query the AS400

We are using Crystal Reports 10 and I am trying to write a report that pulls data from the AS400. We have never had a problem pulling data before because we always pulled from physical files. This time I am trying to pull data from a logical file that spans two physical files. Apparently there is a limitation in crystal that does not allow you to use a logical file? Does anyone know if there is a way around this? Any help would be appreciated and would save me a ton of work. If I cannot get the report to do this for me then I will have to write a program to pull the data from these two physical files into a new file and go from there.

Is it possible to use the OPEN DATASET functionality in conjunction with a logical file? If so, can you please provide me with an example?

1. We can Maintain Logical Filenames in Tcode FILE.
2. We can call the FM File_Name_Get
This FM name takes the logical File name as input and Returns the Physical file
3. OPEN DATASET <Filename>

Assign Logical file name for the physical file path through Program

Hi all,
I am having a physical file which is getting generated dynamically. It is having the date and time stamp in its name which is added at runtime.
Now I need to assign a logical file name for the physical file path through the program.
Is there any FM or any other method to assign the same.

I think it is not possible. becuase the date & time added at runtime. so if you check the table PATH you can find filename and their definitions

How to use property file - sql query define in property file

Anybody please tell me how to use property file.
I have placed sql query in propery file and I have to access this in my file.
well so far this is my code but don't know how to implement in the following ...
pstmt = con.prepareStatement("select * from registration where username=?");
instead of writting the query I want to use the property file.
so far I have developed the following code...
FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream("querysql.property");
Properties dbProp = new Properties();
dbProp.load(fis);is the code correct... or is there another way to access property file

How to use batch files to send the load from ODC to UCM?

Hello all.
We're trying to do this along this week and, until now, we couldn't figure out how to use batch files containing metada on ODC and commit the output files to UCM.
So these are our specs:
VM 1
ODC - 10gR3
OS - Windows XP 32 bits SP3
DB - Oracle DB 11.2
VM 2
No ODC
UCM 11.1.1.6
OS - Enterprise Linux Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Carthage)
We've opened a ticket with Oracle Support to know how we should do this. The number is SR 3-6108348211.
Let me try to explain what we want to do:
1 - we have a batch file with all metadata of many files from UCM
2 - we want to use this file in ODC, so the application will convert the images and commit them to UCM
3 - we should see all these files, their metadata, thumbnails and related content in UCM
4 - this is a batch file example we want to send to ODC:

5 - So, when we use this batch file on ODC, the file (or image) will be converted, all metadata attached and then sent to UCM.
But we don't know how to do the link between ODC and UCM. The Oracle Support says it is necessary to do some customization. In the books I could not find any info about how to do, just generic information or how to use ODC.
Is there a way (without customization) to do that? Can anyone give us a step-by-step guide?

What is the one-sentence requirement or issue you're trying to solve?
If you only want content to be converted to pdf, then you should already have that with your items checked into UCM (if you have IBR enabled).
if you really want to feed content into ODC using a batchfile, my first thought would be to create a transformation utility/app that will convert your batchfiles to the expected ODC import server folder job format. then you'll have to move or map the content to match.
Again, without knowing the exact issue/business requirement you're trying to work through, I'd say a redesign of your ingestion process may be in order.
If you feed content directly into ODC through any supported ODC method (watch folder, email, scanner, fax, etc), then you'll be able to use everything ootb as you'll be able to auto-commit directly into UCM or add an indexing step and manual commit to UCM.
ODC is basically a front end for indexing and extra ingestion options to your content repo.
IPM is basically the same, but it includes some extra process-related details (process metadata, process integrations/bpel/bpm, other system integrations/ebs/crm, etc). I don't feel that IPM would help with the transformation-specific question you've put out there.

Can I use data files to control the analog out of PXI-6733?

Yes you have do read the file in LabVIEW and convert that into waveform and send it to the PXI target. Normally we use to generate arbitrary waveform (non standard waveform) in this method only then send the waveform data to the target.

Is it best to upload HD movies from a camcorder to iMovie or iPhoto. iMovie gives the option for very large file sizes - presumably it is best to use this file size because the HD movie is then at its best quality?

Generally it is if you're comparing identical compressors & resolutions but there's something else happening here. If you're worried about quality degrading; check the original file details on the camera (or card) either with Get Info or by opening in QuickTime and showing info. You should find the iPhoto version (reveal in a Finder) is a straight copy. You can't really increase image quality of a movie (barring a few tricks) by increasing file size but Apple editing products create a more "scrub-able" intermediate file which is quite large.

How to use manifest file to indicate the entry class?

I am trying to package all my class files together and let the users to run my file using the following command line:
java -jar program.jar
For this purpose, I need to specify the main class in the manifest file. I create the manifest file as below:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Created-By: 1.3.0 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
Main-Class: classname
and include it in the same directory as my class file. then I jar all the files using:
jar cvmf manifest.mf program.jar *.*
However ,when I try to run the program using:
java -jar program.jar, I get the error message:
Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from program.jar.
What have I done wrong? pls help!!! thanks a lot

How To Use Logic Express To Change The Speaking Voice

I'm new to Logic. I've been messing around with it for awhile. I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for a filter, or a way to setup a filter that will automatically change the speaking voice (for podcasts etc.). I want the voice to sound realistic to the end user, yet sound significantly different then the original voice file.
What's the fastest, easiest way to do this in Logic (or some other software)?

No, these plugins I mentioned are included in Logic.
On the channel strip for the track click on an empty "Inserts" slot. From the drop down menu you can choose from a variety of Effects plugins.

Why this site used php files in all the pages?

I download my friend's site and ALL the pages are in a folder with the file name index.php ... WHY?
Example;
Name of folder; gallery
Inside this folder, a file with the name index.php
Name of folder; contact
Inside this folder, a file with the name index.php
It has an "includes" folder with files for ;
header.php, footer.php, content.php and functions.php
and so on.
Now, this site has ONLY 7 pages, it's not like it's a monster site, so
what is the purpose of using php in every single page?
I have to tell you that my friend has a program call CKeditor and CKfinder to
edited her website.
Not sure if this is the reason why this site has been coded all of it with php files.

The reason for using php extension or not has absolutely nothing to do with the size of the site. If the site uses dynamic pages, then the page need a dynamic page extension. Even sites without dynamic pages often use .php in anticipation of using them so the file names won't need to be changed down the road.
Now, if your question is more about why they created separate directories for each page, it's probably so the url's can be accessed without including the file extension, Ex
example.com/contact
instead of
example.com/contact.php

Just installed Firefox 4.....now cannot print a pdf document in FF 4 using either file-print or the printer icon. However, I can print by right click on pdf page and selecting print form drop down. Was printing fine with FF 3.X

using adobe 9.x would not print. Then loaded Adobe Reader 10.x still would not print. Can print Adobe images just fine outside of FF4.x I am about ready to remove FF4 and go back to FF3.x.
Has anyone else had this problem.
Am running Win Xp with all current updates.

I had the same issue and my of my friends.
The fix is easy. You need to remove and re-add your printers.
Do this by going to the Applications folder Utilities folder and opening up Printer Setup Utility
Then click on the printers you see click remove and add them again.
If its a network printer, I would write down the IP address. Otherwise you have to figure out what it is.

there is no standard functionality avaiable to upload a Excel data in to a infostructure.
as the characteristics and Key figures could vary .
Develop a Z progarm to acheive your functionality.

In the DTP select the file location as application server and give the logical file path. The actual file and logical path can be created using transaction "FILE" and "AL11".
Rest of the process is same as that of extraction from local file.

I have a flat file that contains about 10k rows that I need to join to a table with 2million plus rows. My problem is I cannot load the flat file into a Oracle table or create a new table to contain the 10k rows because I lack of permissions to create table on my user account. I have tried using MS-Access to query the two tables using ODBC, but the query times were horribly slow and would time out. I was curious if there is a way of calling the flat file as a table in my SQL statement from Oracle?
I know the following doesn't work but I was wondering if there is something out there that would allow me to do something like the following?

SELECT a.COL1, a.COL2, ff.COLa, FF.COLb
FROM apple a, c:\temp\flat_file.csv ff
WHERE a.COLa=ff.COLa
db version - 10g

If you absolutely cannot (either through creating and loading objects, or having someone else do it for you) i would likely recommend installing your own database (Oracle XE is free and will easily handle your flat file)

I would install that, load your data into a schema you create, and then create a database link to the remote database and use that in your query.
I would highly push you to work with the administrators of the database though and get them to set you up a schema where you can create objects (with access to the objects in other schemas that you require, if only read permitted).
