HT201412 iphone will not reset or restart. Help!

Hi! I seem to have frozen my iphone. I'm not sure how but it froze and I can't reset or restart it. Any one help?

Hi there Jennas27,
It sounds like your phone is not turning on at all at this point. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article about that kind of an issue. It also has information on reaching out to Apple if needed:
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • IPhone will not reset will not activate

Hi all, I have spent hours trying to upgrade to ios5 on my 3gs  now it will not reset or activate tryed on and home buttons .

It simply sounds like you don't have a good cell signal.  Take the iPhone to an area with good cell reception and then turn then iPhone off and on again.  Once it get a signal then it should activate.
If that doesn't work then take it to the neared store of your cell carrier for activation.

  • HT201412 iPhone will not recognise my music

I Have recently change my iPhone as I damaged my iPhone 4 - I now have iPhone 4S. Everything has set up transferred except my music, I've tried syncing with ITunes and I've checked all my settings -when I go into the music I have a cloud display and a bar that starts to complete, but then just stops and takes me to the store.

    Hello there, Yasmin120.
Sounds like you're iPhone is not being recognized in iTunes for Windows. The following Knowledge Base article covers some great steps for troubleshooting that issue:

  • Iphone will not reset

Was using phone to make a call and it just cut out and saying no service, turned phone off and back on and apple logo was on screen. Have tried to reset but still apple logo remains. Have also tried to restore thro itunes but plugged phone in and its not showing on devices?
    Please help!!!

I don't believe Apple sells the iPhone officially in China, so this iPhone is a hacked iPhone, or is a knock-off or a fake.
The iPhone's firmware or OS includes some default apps which cannot be deleted, but does not include any pre-installed games.
Holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button resets the iPhone, which is similar to a computer restart and does not affect any data or settings. An iPhone reset does not restore the iPhone to factory settings. The only way to restore an iPhone to factory settings is by selecting Restore under the Summary tab for the iPhone sync preferences. This erases the iPhone followed by re-installing the current firmware version. The iPhone includes an Erase All Content and Settings option, which is not the same as restoring an iPhone with iTunes.
Since this iPhone has either been hacked or is a knock-off or a fake, neither one is supported by Apple.

  • 3GS iPhone Will not Reset / Restore

I am having a problem restoring 3GS iPhone I do get a Apple start up screen but nothing further. When I attempted to iTunes it says that it's in recovery mode and wants to do something but it never does.
I think it's not completely erased or reset and that's the problem but I don't know.
    Any idea out there?

    Several solutions appear:

Ensure that your iphone is plugged directly into a usb socket on your mac...
    Does this help?

  • Old iPhone will not reset - keeps settings.

    Hi Everyone
I have the iPhone 5. Thus, I wanted to use my old iPhone 3GS as an iPod.
I went ahead and reset the old iPhone 3GS.
I then logged into my Apple iTunes account using a DIFFERENT email address. I went to download some apps, and the iPhone 3GS has the same settings as the iPhone 5. In other words, lets say I download Pandora, I would download the Pandora app on iPhone 3GS to have as a "different" phone, yet when I open Pandora it is still signed in as it would be on the iPhone 5.
I have a few social media and dating apps - specifically Grindr - and when I try to download it on my iPhone 3GS, it downloads, but when I open it, it shows the same profile that I have on iPhone 5. If I delete the app from my iPhone 3GS, it is also deleted from the iPhone 5. So its almost like both of the phones are interconnected, and I would like to disconnect them.
Here is what I have tried to do to separate these phones:
Factory re-set my old iPhone 3GS
Make sure that both phones have different iTunes/Apple ID's connected to them, and that the emails are not interconnected.
Sign up for a new Apple ID with a new credit card.
Regardless, both of my phones are acting as if they are on the same account, etc.
I am frustrated, I don't know what to do.
    Anyone?

I checked and the iCloud accounts are different. I even turned off the iCloud feature on both phones and it is still doing this.
I am signed in under different iTunes accounts for both phones as well.

  • HT1430 iphone will not reset

my iphone keeps cutting off and now it wont reset itself or turn on any advice

The first step is to evaluate battery seems like it could be the fault. Try to Restore iPhone Firmware with iTunes on computer. If still problem and you have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage make Genius Reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, you can still take iPhone to Apple for Battery diagnostic testing.

  • My ipod classic is stuck in diagnostic mode and will not reset. Please help.

I turned on my iPod classic & it started in Diagnostic mode.  I worked my way through the various tests and press this/press that instructions and now it is stuck.
I can't turn it off or reset it.
I am unable to connect it to my PC at the moment and need help so that I can use it.
    I miss my music.

How did you try and reset the iPod?  By pressing and holding both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons togehter long enough for the Apple logo to appear?
What happens if you connect it to iTunes?
If nothing else, let the battery fully drain and then charge it up.

my iphone will not connect to my wifi only just started to do this the last 2 days sometimes the wifi turns on other time no often then not it will not turn on could u help ?

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the problem is still not resolved, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
Verizon does not provide hardware support, taking the device to them would be a waste of time.

  • My ipod was connecting to my home wi-fi just fine until I uploaded new music from my Itunes on my laptop. Now my ipod and my iphone will not connect to my wireless network. I've tried resetting the network settings etc... Nothing seems to work. Help!

Does the iOS devices connect to other networks?
Does the iOS devices see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Since both iPhone and iPod stopped connecting I suspect a problem with your network.

  • My iPhone will not allow me to use slide screen? i have powered down and restarted several times. still cannot acces my phone. help needed.

My iPhone will not allow me to use the slide feature. I have restarted the phone several times. any suggestions?

Try rebooting.  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPhone should restart.  See if you can use it when it comes back up.
