Erase iPad and setup iPad from scratch
1. Launch web browser on your computer
2. Sign in to www.icloud.com
3. Tap on Find My iPhone
4. Select the iPad to be erased
5. Tap Erase iPad
6. Message: All your content and settings will be erased. An erase iPad cannot be located or tracked
7. Tap Erase
8. Enter Apple ID and Password
9. Tap Next
10. Enter a phone number where you can be reached. It will be shown on your iPad after it has been erased
11. Enter phone number
12. Tap Next
13. Tap Erase iPad
14. This message will be shown on your iPad after it's been erase "This iPad has been lost. Please call 12345678"
15. Done
16. Erase started

17. Remove from Account (this will allow iPad to be activated and used by another person)
Setup wiped iPad
1. Slide to unlock

My LG Ally is frozen and won't shut off
This morning, when I tried to sign in to Google Talk it said it is unable to connect. When I cleared out of there I decided to power off and see if restarting helped the issue. Unfortunately, It got stuck while powering down and it won't shut off. I tried holding down buttons, which didn't do anything. I can't get the battery out and broke my nail in a really painful way trying. Any advice? How can I safely remove the battery without resorting to prying it out with a screwdriver?

I called tech support and after a couple of subsequent freezes, Verizon sent me a new phone. After a couple of days, the new phone is experiencing similar symptoms. The one thing I noticed that both phones had in common was the location where the freezing occurred. I was trying to place a call, when located approximately a hundred and fifty yards from a known cell site. I wonder if you have noticed the problem reoccurring at a particular location or proximity to a cell site. This is just an observation that I have made. As far as the battery, I would try to find a small piece of plastic or even a small baby spoon to pry the battery out. Something that will not damage the case. The only way to reset the phone is to pull out the battery. After you remove the battery, you might put a small tab of tape around the top. This way, if it happens again, you can pull on the tab of tape to remove the battery. (kind of like you see in the battery holder compartment of portable radios.) I hope this is not a common problem with these phones. Hopefully Verizon and LG will identify this problem immediately.

TS4022 Ipad is frozen. Won't shut off or anything.
Unable to do anything. Says Icloud backup..this ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when the ipad is plugged in,locked and connected to wi-fi. I plugged it in to charge it and kept it connected to wifi and turned on. Now this morning it is frozen, will not shut off or anything.

my ipad has IOS 5.1.1 version and i know there is newer update for them as when i go to download certain apps it wont let me because it needs IOS 7 but when i have plugged it into itunes it says no update needed?

From your post it appears that you are using an earlier iPad, which can only update to iOS 5. Some developers do offer compatible versions of their apps for people running older iOS versions, but ultimately it is up to that developer to make an older version. It sounds like you're going to have to put the iPad in to recovery mode before you can restore it. The article linked below provides more details about the passcode lock and will walk you through putting the process of restoring from recovery mode.

Use recovery mode
Follow these steps if you never synced your device with iTunes, if you don't have Find My iPhone set up, or if you can't get to your own computer. You'll need to put your device in recovery mode, which will erase the device and its passcode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
Disconnect all cables from your device.
Turn off your device.
Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
Click OK, then restore the device.

My email was a white blank screen on my ipad. Thinking I needed a software update, I tried to shut it off. Now all I have is a black screen and the "working" logo in the center, but it won't shut off.

I Have an Apple IPad tablet.it is a 32 gb. IOS 8.1.3 when I try to shut it down I know there use to be a bar that you slide to close it.but now I can't find it . I held the button down for 10 to 20 seconds but it still won't shut off. If I let it go during the nite while I sleep I can hear it makeing a dinging sound like I get when a notification shows up. but it won't completely shut down . How do I get it to shut off.
TTry a reset. Hold down on the sleep AND home buttons at the same time - for 10 seconds or so - until the Apple Logo appears on the screen. When the logo appears, let go of the buttons and let the iPd start up. After it starts up, then try to shut down again.
BTW, I amost never shut my iPads or iPhone off. I simply let them sleep. I recharge the battery when needed but always while the iPads or phone is still powered up. -
My ipad 2 won't shut off. I've even tried the hard shut down, holding down the home button and the power button at e same time and nothing happened. It runs like normal except I can't get it o power down anyone have any ideas?
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If that doesn't work, try restoring from a backup - if you have a current backup that was created before this problem occurred.
