I have almost never used my appe tv--passwords and id get so confusing--it makes me tierd and I give up and walk away. But now I need to use my Home Sharing feature and am told by iTunes that I can only authorize 5 computers to do this and according to their count, I have already done 5. I have only two computers so I know this is not correct. But what can I do about it? I am told by a pop up that I should deauthorize this computer--the only one I want to use for this project--it makes no sense to me. This has already eaten up my day with reseting passwords, ids etc. I'm almost ready to throw Apple TV out. This $100.00 object has already eaten up more than $100.00 of my time! Help.

Simply deauthorize all, then authorize your computer.

That is wrong advice and you appear to have repeated it all over the forum.
All Pages files no matter what version have the same file extension, .pages, despite being radically different formats and that is the problem. The System does not distinguish between them when you double click on the file, it opens the first version of Pages it encounters.
You need to right click on the file and choose the correct App version for the file. Unfortunately there are no clues to tell you which is which.
If you are unhappy with this and the removal of over 100 features plus the problems with transmitting files across devices, servers and different versions of OS X, rate/review Pages 5.5.2 in the App Store.

Try restoring from the backup created at the beginning of the sync process:
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes, go to Preferences, on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically"
Connect your phone, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears on the left sidebar in iTunes
Select Restore from backup, choosing your most recent backup to restore from
Disconnect your phone and confirm that your photos are back
Go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.

Hi, I have a Mac running 10.4.11. I recently updated my FF and noticed my games ran faster and videos worked better. I had some problems accessing the net today and had to restart my computer. Suddenly my games all went into super slow mode. This is the third time this has happened. It appears that my restart (my computer) does something to override whatever has made my computer faster and better. What can I do, except wait for the next update? I have tried reinstalling it, but no, it doesn't work.

Cannot get Home Sharing to work on my iPad, iPad 2 or Apple TV 2

I am running iTunes on a network-connected Windows PC and I have authorized the PC and turned on Home Sharing. I cannot see my shared library on my iPad, iPad 2 or Apple TV 2.
In fact, in the left navigation pane in iTunes, I don't see the "Home Sharing" section.
I have applied all the latest updates to Windows and iTunes as well as iOS for the iPads and Apple TV. I am running Microsoft Security Essentials software. I tried disabling the firewall and it still did not work.
I tried doing as much as applicable from this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2972 and I am not getting anywhere.
Any help is appreciated.

I am having the same problems with Home Sharing using the Apple TV. The problems seemed to appears to have started within the last week or so. Did updates and all. Went to the Apple TV and it couldn't see either Home Share on either computers that Home Share is turned ON. Reset the routers, reinstalled iTunes on the iMac and MacBookPro. Created a second Wi-Fi Access point using a Airport Express. Put the MacBookPro and TimeCapsule on the same network and still no love to see the Home Share contents.
We have had both Mac's and Apple TV for several years and have never had any problems like this.

Are you connected to wifi? Are the updates for the apps for ios 7.0.3? If they are then try updating your ipad then going in and updating your apps.

Just check the 'Manually sync music' box (or some iteration of that) when you plug it into iTunes under the iPhone tab.

How old is that EeePC?
If that is one of the original versions, from 2007 - 2009, the Xandros operating system doesn't support anything newer than Firefox 2.0 !
I have a EeePC 900, and in 2009 I installed EasyPeasy OS [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EasyPeasy] so that I could run Firefox 3.6. Unfortunately, EasyPeasy was discontinued in 2012 altogether, but work on it had quit in like 2010 when Ubuntu started adding files needed for Netbooks like the EeePC.
Overall, ASUS used a weird OS to begin with on the first EeePC 700 model - Xandros, which was already a couple of years behind the Linux-curve as far as security updates and file version levels. And then ASUS didn't provide funding to the team that created Xandros to make it more up-to-date.
Then there is the issue of Microsoft seeing the Netbook market slip thru their fingers, and MS putting pressure on ASUS to use a "Lite" version of WinXP, which did become an option after the 900 versions. But that's another story ...
Bottom line is that you need a different, newer Operating System for that device to be able to use a newer version of Firefox. Best thing to do is to head over to the Ubuntu support fora and ask about an appropriate Linux distro for your EeePC.

I don't use my EeePC for the purpose I originally got it for ''(the company I worked in for 2008 went bust in 2010 - I was an outside service rep and did on-site job reporting with the EeePC which fit in my toolbag)'', and I never updated it beyond EasyPeasy and Firefox 3.6. I use it now on my local network in my home and don't go on the internet with it. Basically a terminal on the network for viewing and editing locally saved files when I am watching TV, during commercials.

How do I know if time machine is backing up my apple mail? I need to have copies of all of my emails, so there I have a lot of mail files. I was told that if I change computers, that the mail files will all be on time machine. Is this true? Thanks, Dave

Having deleted some Mail messages by mistake, I have had to recover them from TM. I can tell you that the recovery of mail messages will be done at the mailbox level. In my case it was half of the messages in a mailbox. So I recovered the complete mailbox from TM. Then I copied the messages from the recovered mailbox back into the mailbox I use in Mail. I hope that helps.
Please be aware that TM is a backup application and not an archival application. What that means is that if your TM drive gets full, it will get rid of older files which could be mail messages to make space for newer backups. You might want to consider archiving your mail instead of using TM if you need to maintain your mail messages for extended periods of time.
