HT204291 I can't find the airplay icon on my 2009 Macbook. What can I do
I cant find the airplay icon on my 2009 macbook labtop. I know it is active because I can use it on my new macbook air. How can I find it on my old macbook.
Both models of MacBook4.1 (13-inch Early and Mid 2008)
are considered Vintage when running Mavericks 10.9.2.
This means certain aspects of the hardware do not meet
system requirements for the software to run on them.
AirPlay, iCloud, and other things found varying support
or lack thereof, between Lion, Mt Lion, and Mavericks.
So it appears the Vintage stature affects yours this way.

I can longer find the airplay icon on my iPad when I double click the home icon. It worked fine and i used it for a couple of weeks to mirror with the Apple TV and then it mysteriously disappeared. Now when I double click and slide the icons at the bottom to far left, instead of finding airplay there is an extra music icon and a music control panel. If I open up the music app, there is an airplay icon top right next to volume control which works fine with mirroring the Apple TV, which suggests to me wi-if and networks are fine. I can only mirror music however. Any ideas anyone?

I cannot find the AirPlay icon for the life of me. I have iOS 7.0.2 on my iPad Mini. Connected to my WiFi network just fine. I swipe up to get to the control center badges and all I see is the AirDrop icon. Trying to disable mirroring on ipad for Netflix streaming and don't know what to do. Any luck out there?
If you last used an Apple TV to mirror your device and have updated to the newest Apple TV software, go into settings and turn airplay back on. The icon should then appear on your iPad mini when you swipe up allowing you to disable it for Netflix. After updating my Apple TV software for some reason it turned airplay off.

Can't find the Airplay icon! I have a Macbook Pro Late 2011
I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011. Yes I am sure that it is Late 2011 because I looked up the serial number and the website says it is indeed MacBook Pro Late 2011. I just bought an Apple TV and I want to use Airplay but I CANNOT find the Airplay icon on the upper right menu bar. I updated my software and everything but I still dont see it! What do I need to do inorder for me to use Airplay? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
What Mac do you have? It needs to be at least 2011
OSX needs to be at least 10.8
Has nothing to do with Internet, you need to check your local network and also make sure both ATV and Mac are on the same network. Airplay should also be enabled on ATV -
I had been using airplay on my ipad2 mirror to my apple tv. Worked fine for a while.
I sync and backed up my ipad yesterday and i could no longer see the airplay icon.
Anybody know why and the solution please?Is your Apple TV "awake"? Sometimes the AirPlay icon won't show for me if the Apple TV is sleeping - pressing a key on the Apple remote ususally resolves it.

Thanks for the question. With the introduction of iOS 7, the AirPlay icon has moved to the Control Center for easy access from any screen. To access Control Center, simply swipe up from the bottom of your screen:

Why can't i find the airplay icon in the control centre ?
i have an iPad version with iOS 7.1.2 with capacity of 28.3GB. I also have apple tv and both are using the same wifi network. I have previously been able to link various apps to apple tv using airplay but now the airplay icon does not appear at the bottom of the screen as before. I have tried to fix this by going to the control centre but the airplay icon does not appear there either. What should i do ?

1. Turn off router, Apple TV and iPad
2. Turn on router and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process
3. Turn on Apple TV and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process

I have the same network registered to the same network. Software is the latest on both IPAD and Apple TV. I have a IPAD 3. I have tried youtube, safari, TV-play station and find no airplay icon nowhere. I double click on meny button and swipe accross the screen. Still no icon. I am frustrated, so give me a tip please....

I have recently bought Apple Tv and my iPhone 4s and iPad 1 can connect to it via AirPlay no problem.
My daughter has just got an iPad 3 and for some reason the AirPlay icon doesn't appear anywhere so can't connect to Apple TV.
Is there only a certain number of devices that can connect to Apple TV or is the AirPlay icon somewhere else on the ipad3?
Home sharing is turned on and connected to same network as Apple TV.

I am trying to use airplay with our imac and apple tv. The imac is a early 2012 model. The apple TV is brand new. the Icon is not on my toolbar and not in the system preferences>displays either... I just ran an upgrade so we are all up to date... is there anything else I can try?

AirPlay can only be used for IOS devices (iPad, iPhone, etc.)
AirPlay Mirroring can be used for certain Mac models that are running OSX Mountain Lion. If you are running 10.6.8 OS on your Mac, then you cannot use AirPlay Mirroring. You would need to upgrade the Mac to Mountain Lion 10.8.3.
