HT204306 How to reset the iPad to factory have forgotten passcode? Please help...
I Tried the four step crud and it did not work the iTunes symbol displays and so does the little plug but nothing after that. there is no ok prompt nothing on the screen changes. I really would like to reset my iPad to factory condition cause I have forgotten my passcode and cannot install any updates... Please help me to do this successfully...
You can restore the iPad by completing a DFU restore.
DFU Restore:
1. Connect your iPad to your computer
2. Open iTunes
3. Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake button and Home buttons simultaneously for approximately 9-10 seconds
4. When the screen goes blank, release the Sleep/Wake button and continue holding the Home button
5. the screen MUST remain black. If the Apple logo appears while still holding the Home button you did not time it properly (either you released Sleep/Wake too soon or too late)
6. iTunes will pop up with a small window indicating you have connected an iPad in recovery mode and can Restore it to recover it.
7. If the apple logo appears due to incorrect timing the Recovery mode message may still appear in iTunes, but you should simply dismiss it and try again from step 3.
Afterwards, you'll want to restore from backup. If you use iTunes for backups, then your computer will ask if you'd like to restore the iPad from backup after the process above completes and it is recognized as a blank iPad in iTunes. If you use iCloud for backups, then disconnect your iPad after the process above and wait for the first-time setup screen to appear on the ipad. Select language, location, activate the device, and accept the terms and conditions; then choose to "restore from iCloud backup". After you sign in with your Apple ID you'll see your backups and you can select one. iCloud remembers that you had a password set but does not store the password in the cloud so when your iPad restarts with your information on it it will prompt for a new password to be set.

About gamepass, I dont know, I dont have it. Siri is not on the IPAD2. Only on the 3rd generation Ipad, so you wont have it(going by ipad2 under your name).

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

You can restore from backup since the screen-lock passcode is not restored.
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I have the latest IOS 8.x installed on my IPAD-2 but haven't been able to get the Safari Browser to work for several months. When I click Safari it opens for a few seconds then shuts down...I'm not able to input any web sites.
I tried settings->safari->clear history & website data but it didn't help. I tried rebooting the iPad by holding down the home & sleep/wake buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appeared, then let go & let the iPad boot up normally....Safari still won't open.

If it's showing the connect to iTunes screen then it sounds like it's gone into recovery mode and will need to be connected to a computer's iTunes in order to be reset. Does neither she nor you have a computer, and if she hasn't has she been backing up to the cloud instead ?
Depending upon what country that you are in, and whether content is still in the store, she might be able to re-download some/all of her downloads via the Purchased tabs in the App Store and iTunes store apps -

My 8 year old created a password to lock the screen and then forgot it. Since then, the ipad has been Disabled and we don't know how to reset it. We have read the instructions in the manual but since we never had it synced with itunes or ios7, there is no way to get it to reset. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten passcode:
Restore (and reset passcode) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:

If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected (or the device was never connected to a computer) you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:

If you mean a restrictions settings password, this requires a complete recovery of the phone as in the second link. -

Doing a reset only requires that you hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The device will restart. This would have no affect on your other device. If you are speaking of a restore, even that will only affect the device that you do the restore on, not both devices. Can you explain what you think the problem is, or what you are experiencing?

Can someone please help. I am distinctly un tech and when trying to update my ipad so we could use bbc i player the software will not load back on to the ipad. Did save all the pictures.
