My macbook had printed wrong serial on back, there should be xxxxxxxx. I just buy apple care protection so which serial no should the apple use for repair. I use serial shown by About my mac, not from back cover to buy apple care protection.
In future if I need repair I would face problem due to this error.

Yep there is only a print mistake of one letter which give me worry about. In my purchase invoice and back cover it was printed clearly (S) not (5). If in future my mac hdd fail there is no way to find correct serial of my mac which is (C02******H2G) not (C02******H2G). Both looks similar, one expire in august 1st 2012 & other 14th aug, 2014.
Last month I repair while I'm on 1 year warrenty. Now just worry if they use serial from back then I don't have warrenty.

I cant find any reciept in my email or in my husbands email. I am going to attempt to call and speak to someone who can help me because this was not my fault except trying to be normal and update my phone!

Macbook Air Assigned wrong URL to Printer connect to AEBS

I found a curious problem that I corrected but don't know why my Macbook Air did this:
I discovered that my Macbook would print fine to my HP Printer connected to my AEBS via USB, but my Macbook Air would be very slow to send the print job to the printer (taking 1-2 minutes if the print job had images, quicker if it was just text). I noticed that the printer URL (from the printer settings) on my Macbook was different than the printer URL on my Macbook Air. After figuring out how to change the URL on my Macbook Air via http://localhost:631, it now prints fine. However, I don't have a clue why my Macbook Air is assigning a different URL for my printer.
Anyone have any ideas?

Colors from my screen to a customers printer are printing wrong

I run an online wedding invitation design business. I first create the digital files of the invitations in Adobe Illustrator CS5, then secondly I email the PDF file to my customers, and finally the customers are responsible for printing the invitations themselves. Some people print from a home computer, some have a local print shop print them (professional OR places like Staples and Office Max), and some upload the design to an online print service.
I use Adobe Illustrator CS5 and cmyk colors to create my file.
2 times this year I have run across a problem that I don't know how to fix. The customer says that when they print the PDF at home AND at a local print shop (Staples or otherwise), the colors are not right. Specifically, my Peach color was printing Brown for her, and my light Pink color was printing Tan for her.
The first file I sent her was a PDF that I created from Illustrator. I also imported the .ai file into my Photoshop Elements 5.0, and then saved it as a JPG and PSD. Those two printed the same results for her. She printed from home and from Staples. Both printed wrong.
Can someone tell me why this might be happening? I have made 250+ sales in the last 12 months, and this is only the second time it has happened.

jdanek - Of the hundreds of sales that I've made, I've only had this color issue happen twice. As I stated before, I'm not a professional with Illustrator, so I'm not sure how to answer some of your questions.
I use CMYK in Illustrator CS5 but I don't know anything about what my "color settings" are or what my "PDF color settings" are. I know it's gotta be something pretty simple to figure out. Can you help give me some direction in that? If it helps, here's a screen shot of when I start to save a PDF.
Besides the screen shot showing my PDF settings, you can alos see my self-made set of "user defined" color swatches that I use in all of my designs (in the bottom folder set of swatches). This allows consistency in my designs, since my customers are able view a color chart in my online shop to pick the colors for their invitations.
You asked about giving proofs to my customers. To answer, yes I do. After I create their design in Adobe Illustrator CS5, I save the file as a PDF (as shown in the screen shot I provided) and email it to them. I do the same thing once the design is approved; send them a PDF using the same settings in the screen shot shown.
Some customers print from their home printer, and some take the file to a local printshop of their choosing (kinkos, office max, staples, or other professional places, etc). I don't always know what printshop they take their files to. I've never had any special requests from the printshops. The file I send to the customer is the one that's used, no questions ever asked. I have no part or no knowledge of what those printshop printer's settings are. And I have no part or any knowledge of what type of paper they're printing on.
Sometimes customers upload thier design to online printers, like Vistaprint or Catprint. If that's the case, then I go online to the website and download an Illustrator template to do the designing in. Again, I use my own "user defined" color swatches and save the document with the same PDF settings in the screenshot.

Wrong serial for AFX CS5.5....is it just me

So i bought the upgrade to AFX CS 5.5 from the adobe store intel mac version . Next day my e:mail arrived with my serial number so i logged in to my account and downloaded everything went great it installed fine
Ok so now i plug in the serial number this is the error i get (this serial number is not valid for this product)

so this i when i rang Adobe support. it is a simple thing its not the right serial number
well it is according to adobe support it is the right serial however about 30 mins to the support call we had a break thru and the engineer worked out that AFX CS 5.5 is actually version 10.5 internally and my serial number is for 10 so great we have cracked i have the wrong serial
now passed over to customer support to get a new serial 30 mins later customer support tells me that my serial number is correct and they have to hand me back to tech support i informed them that were i just came from
So back to tech support, yet again we work out its the wrong serial and guess were i,m sent back to customer support to get a new serial number
its a true infinite loop
i had been on the phone for about 2 hours now including hold music so i had to go back to work
What have i learned from this adobe must spend millions training people to do support but why not just give the money to the people who program AFX CS5.5 instead with one click of a button we knew what the problem was

So i still don,t have the correct serial my support ticket is still open i,m in trial mode ....29 day to go before i get very anxious

Making a new Apple ID was the worst thing you could of done. This is very bad to do. Not sure why people do that. Your Apple ID is Your Apple ID. You only need one and it is best to only have one Apple ID for all apple devices.

When I restored my new computer from the time machine, the software was transfer to the new machine, in the past when double clicking the icon it would come up and ask for the serial numbers. This time was the same with the exception of:
I did not enter an invalid serial number, I tried all the numbers I have. But none of them worked.
I will try to install from discs.

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is filing a police report. Apple does not have any sort of process for recovering lost or stolen machines:

If you were running Lion and had activated Find My Mac you can log in and see if you can track it down. Find My Mac only works is the machine is on and has an internet connection. The odds of a thief having the machine on at the time you try to track it are pretty slim.

Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

Re-installation of Acrobat fails for allegedly wrong serial number

I have problems re-installing Acrobat 8 (CS3) on Windows 7 64bit, the program claims a wrong serial number. By mistake of course, since I use the original DVD. The history seems to be important.
History: I installed CS3 years ago, including Acrobat 8, and it ran smoothly all the time. Spring this years, I migrated to Windows 7, still everything was fine.
Last week I installed a trial version of FrameMaker 12; Creative Cloud was installed also, though I didn't want to. Some days later I missed the Acrobat icon, looked for the folder "Acrobat 8.0" and found it quite empty. And found a new folder "Acrobat 11.0" including acrodist.exe but no Acrobat 11.
To get it running again, I re-installed Acrobat 8 from the CS3 DVD. Worked o.k., but entering the serial number (and pressing "Activate") leads to a message "Invalid Serial Number". What? How can this be?
Well, o.k. Acrobat 8 is not up-to-date, but I want to use my stuff. Anyone knows what I can do?

After all, I got it fixed:
I uninstalled Acrobat and re-installed it (both via CS installer). I thought, that should have been the same as repairing, but obviously, it isn't as easy.

HELP!!! MacBook wont print on wireless computer

New to Macs.
I have a Lexmark X7550 wireless printer that was set up on our wireless network and works fine with three other PCs. But I can't get the MacBook to print or find it when i go through System Preferences.
But I can see the printers name on Bonjour when I look at it through Safari?
I downloaded Bonjour for one of my PCs but it couldn't find it through Bonjour.

Folder with question mark, could be a few things. RAM, HDD, among others.
The best thing to try first is, when you turn it on, try inserting the MacBook dvd that came with it. Hopefully it takes it in. After you shut it down, try starting it up again while holding the "c" key. If it starts from there, try to repair permission from the disk... it is under Disk Utility.
If you get that far, great... We might have a chance.
Also, please let us know where you are located. If you are close to an Apple Store or authorized repair facility, take it in under warranty.
