    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.
If both of the above don't help, you should try a restore (Settings > General > Reset > Restore).

  • Can I make a connection from Apple TV to HD television other than HDMI?

    Question:
With only 2 HDMI ports on my HD TV, and the apparent need for 3 -1 for a Blu-Ray DVD player, 1 for connection to Apple TV, and one to connect to HD cable modem, I feel stuck.
What do I have to do, how much will i be giving up?
Is getting a cable box with two HDMI connectors the solution?
    Or other equipment?
    Tthanks,

Cable modems do not have HDMI ports and do not connect to tvs.  Maybe you mean a cable set-top box?

  • Lightning connection for new iPad. What do I need to watch movies on my TV as composite cables have pin connection?

Have been using composite cables with my old iPad to watch movies on TV. About to purchase new iPad with lightning cable, so will the lightning to 30 pin adapter do the job of connecting my ipad to the composite cables? Will it play the movie successfully on my TV?

  • Playing analog audio out to sonos connect from Apple TV

We have Apple TV playing to our stereo via HDMI, and we have been unsuccessful in getting audio to our Sonos Connect Amp.  We are using the Optical output from the Apple TV and playing into a DAC which converts audio to Analog for the Stereo inputs on the Sonos.  Is there some setting we are missing to get this to work?  We would like listen to whatever is playing on the Apple TV on our homes Sonos zones.
    Thank you,
    JT

No. This would be airplaying to multiple devices at once using an iOS device.  You can do this though in iTunes on a Mac if you have to.

  • No connection from XI3.0 to smb share after lost of connection

    Hi Forum,
we got issues with XI 3.0 after disconnection of
    a smb share.
The smb share is located on a UNIX machine with the opensource fileserver SAMBA 3.x running on it. After a disconnect of the WAN link to the UNIX maschine XI has to be restarted to reconnect to the smb share.
    Question:
    - Is this problem of XI?
    - Could this be a problem of the SAMBA deamon?
    - anything else?
This behavior isnt acceptable because we have do this manual . Are there any hints to solve this issue?
    thx
    Andre

What does it mean? The smb share is a permanent mount?! Do I have to configure this in XI?
    thx

  • Outgoing TCP connections from VM have very low firewall state idle timeout -- how do you adjust?

When I create a TCP connection from a VM to the internet, if I'm idle for more than a few minutes (say a SSH session), the TCP flow is torn down by some AZURE networking element in between.
Incoming connections from the internet in don't seem to be affected.
I assume this is an Azure firewall timeout somewhere.
Is there any way to raise this?

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting here.
    Here are some suggestions:
[1] - You can make sure the TCP connection is not idle. To keep your TCP connection active you can keeping sending some data before 60 seconds passes. This could be done via chunked transfer encoding; send something or you can just send blank lines to keep
    the connection active.
[2] - If you are using WCF based application please have a look at below link:
    Reference:
    http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/WCF-Azure-NetTCP-Keep-Alive-09f50fd9
[3] - If you are using TCP Sockets then you can also try ServicePointManager.SetTcpKeepAlive(true, 30000, 30000) might be used to do this. TCP Keep-Alive packets will keep the connection from your client to the load balancer open during a long-running HTTP
request. For example if you’re using .NET WebRequest objects in your client you would set ServicePointManager.SetTcpKeepAlive(…) appropriately.

Could be a bad cable or bad Thunderbolt port.
You have 90 days of free telephone support on a new device. You can call them at 1-800-MY-APPLE. Have your Mini's serial number handy
You can also make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Can anyone tell me or give me a link to the latest response from Apple regarding very real weak wifi signal on what seems to be a batch of both the new ipad and the earlier Ipad2. I have just bought a 2nd hand ipad2 and it has a very weak wifi signal

Over the last week or so I have been trawling the internet looking for references to weak wifi signals on the Ipad2 and was staggered by the sheer quantity of people who seem to have identical issues, not just with the ipad2 but also with the new ipad. What annoyed me most from reading the reams upon reams of comments made on the Apple community forum is the fairly large number of people who seemed to believe that 'these' people were either just moaners and wingers or else they must have something wrong with their router set-up rather than a serious fault with their ipad and it seems all because there ipad in question works like a dream.
Obviously I can only speak from my experience, and that is, I have an ipad2 32GB with wifi, purchased about 6 months ago and it works like dream with a good 2-3 bar wifi signal through 2 thick stone walls over 30 feet away. My router is a standard one supplied by my broadband supplier compatible with all 'g','b' and 'n' equipment. However, over a week ago now I bought second hand genuine ipad2 16GB with wifi from a close friend who has just purchased a new ipad3 to replace his old ipad2 (had it for over a year so no longer under warranty). When I started it up downstairs from my router, where I always use my other ipad2 which has a very strong wifi signal, I discovered that the new secondhand ipad2 I had purchased couldnt find a network signal at all. So after doing network resets and all other 'fixes' on the device recommended, I took it upstairs to my office where the router is based and found that the device could now locate the network, but the signal was lost over only 12 feet from the router!
I quizzed my good friend about this issue and he informed me that it has always been like this since he first purchased it and he never thought that it was a fault, it was just the way it was. When he first aquired the device he did think at the time that this distance was poor, but thought nothing of it as he didnt have any other ipad to measur ethe signal strength against, and as his router was in his living room anyway he nothing of it. Fair enough.
So, there we have it. One ipad2 with a very good wifi signal and another ipad2  with a very poor wifi signal running off the same router, both with the same IOS 5.0. ?
As well as all of the other isues that customers have picked up on, such as 'death grip' (which I must say does appear to happen, but personally i dont think that this is a serious issue if you are aware of this issue and have a strong signal anyway), my experience seems to be a good  example of a 'duff' wifi ipad versus a 'great' wifi ipad', an issue confirmed by complaints from a fairly large number of customers who have also reported the same or similar weak wifi signals with both the ipad2 and the ipad3. So, as this shows the weak wifi signal is a very real issue it seems on a batch of ipad2 and 3's, which to my logic is obviously a hardware issue on a batch of early ipad2's and not a software one, otherwise all ipad's would suffer this problem! So, is it a faulty antenna or a faukty network card in an early batch?
So, the bottom line now is, of course, firstly,  how can I get Apple to fix my other ipad2 when the warranty has run out? Any suggestions anyone?
Personally I think good Apple customer service should offer a recall with a replacement on this apparent batch of ipads, dont you?

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • What can I expect of my 4s with wifi  connectivity. My 4s receive a signal from the same router I have always used. My 3G would pick up a signal throughout the house, and my 4s won't allow me out of the room. Is my new phone defective or just inferior.

4S at my house have stronger antenna than 3G iPhone. Reset Network Settings, tap Settings App>General>Reset, near bottom>Reset Network Settings. If still problem take to Apple for Warranty Coverage.

How do I get my Macbook to connect to my Apple TV?  Is it even possible?

If these devices live on same network you should be able to see your Apple TV in iTunes (bootm right).

    Hi
Can anyone help? I am trying to connect my sons iPod to burn some music to it but I keep getting a message pop up stating that this version of iTunes is not compatible with this iPod and I need to remove my version of iTunes and install the 64-bit version. I have done this twice now, both times using the 64-bit download from Apple's download page, but the same message appears and the iPod is not recognized.
If anyone knows where I am going wrong I would be grateful for your advice.
    Ta.

    Hi Tintin01,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you're being repeatedly prompted to install the 64-bit version of iTunes, I'd suggest first completely uninstalling iTunes and all its related components using the steps found here:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Once you've uninstalled iTunes and its components, install the latest version of iTunes found here:
    iTunes 11.0.4 for Windows 64
