Welcome to the Apple Community.
Probably because your set up doesn't support HDCP.

  • Licensing and quad core CPU`s

Hi I hope someone can help me here.
We have CF8 enterprise edition installed on a 32 bit OS with 2 dual core CPU`s.
What I want to know is, can I use the same license to migrate CF8 to a new server that has a 64 bit OS with 2 quad core CPU`s.
Also are there any other issues to take into account?.
Any thoughts from anyone who has experience with this kind of thing would be appreciated. Thank you :-)
P.S I tried asking Adobe customer support but it was a waste of time, they couldnt understand the question. My question does make sense right?

Seconded. Once of the nice things about their licensing is that it actually specified "physical" cpus rather than just cores, as Microsoft stuff often does.
Twin octo-core CPUs for the win!

  • Micorsoft Server Compatibility with Laptop system having Intel Pentium Quad-Core CPU N3530 (2.16 GHz)

I would like to know if I can install Microsoft Server 2008 Enterprise or Standard Edition on a Laptop having Intel Pentium Quad-Core CPU N3530 (2.16 GHz). Currently it has Window 8. I do not need Windows 8 and would like to install Microsoft Server 2008
    Enterprise or Standard Edition.
    Will it work ?
    Thnx.

    Hi Zahid-I,
We support the Windows server system install on the certified hardware you can search ask your hardware vendor for exactly supported system or you can search the Windows Server
Catalog to found whether your hardware certified by server 2008, personal experience is most of the laptop not supported the server system.
    Windows Server Catalog

  • Quad-core CPU?

    Hi All,
We are looking to upgrade of database machine for OCS 10g. If we purchase a machine with a quad-core cpu, will the database be able to take advantage of it? Or are we better of with multiple dual-core processors? Or one dual-core processor? Has anyone upgraded recently? Or have any insights?
    Thoughts would be greatly appreciated...

All X series ThinkPads, tablet or not, have the CPU soldered onto the board, and not socketed. This has been the case from the days of X20, almost 15 years ago.
So no, you can't swap the CPU unless you are in possession of proper re-balling equipment along with the skills to use it.
Furthermore, a BIOS support for a quad-core CPU would have to exist, which I doubt is presently the case on X series.

  • Quad core CPU in x230T?

I realize that even if it were possible, cooling would be the primary issue. But I am curious if, say, an i7-3612QM might work in the socket on the mobo. It is rated at 35W, just like the i5-3320m currently installed in mine. Via Intel's ARK, they should both work in the 988 socket on the x230T's mobo.

  • Seconds() function issue on Quad Core CPU

    Hello,
I am noticing some timing issues using Seconds() function on a Quad Core computer. The optional boolean in Seconds() is True (by default).
With Core 2 Duo CPUs, the seconds() function is reporting elapsed time (since TestStand startup) correctly. However, I noticed on a Quad Core CPU that the seconds(True) function reports ~0.5s every 1 second. In other words, seconds() elapsed is incorrectly reported. Has anyone observed such issue?
When the boolean parameter is set to False [i.e. Seconds(False)], there is no problem observed on Quad Core CPU.

    Howdy Troy,
I don't have a quad core to duplicate your issue, but it sounds plausible. Since this is an older version of TestStand that was developed before multicores went mainstream, this very well may be expected behavior.
You might instead call directly into the Windows API using kernel32.dll--particularly one of these functions:
    GetSystemTime
    GetSystemTimes (for multicore)
    GetTickCount
External Link: MSDN: Time Functions (Windows)
Judging from the nature of your question, I think GetTickCount would suit you best.
    I hope this helps!
    Warm regards,

  • ThinkPad X1 With A Quad-Core CPU

A few months ago, I came across an Anandtech article suggesting the X1 will have a quad-core i7 option by the end of summer. Well summer is almost over and I am wondering if any Lenovo staff member can confirm or deny the claims from this article. Thanks!

    Someone high up in Australia.
I don't think Lenovo can tell you much about future potential parts list as this may affect sale.

  • New Quad Core CPU

As you all know Intel will be introducing the new quad core CPU soon. Is Apple going to introduce several totally new design desktops equipped with quad core CPUs? Or is Apple only going to offer an optional upgrade to quad core CPUs for their current three Mac Pros?

    At first.
I think technology hit a wall... a heat dissipation wall.
The plan seems to be to reduce the speed and power and
compensate by brodening the force-area. This reduces
escaping power and produces more efficiency per power
unit. This is just simple coefficients.
Like if I had 8 procs each running at 1GHtz it's going to
aproach the speed of a single 7 or 8GHtz unit but at a
fraction of the power consumption and a magnitude of the
efficiency. This shift started five or six years ago.

Maybe more. 64way units are already here. Though I bet we
don't see them on desktops for a good while. When this
reaches it's limits who knows what's up next? Chemical or
Atomic Phase processors? Shrug. World War Three not
    withstanding..

Is there a quad core cpu for my macbook 13in pro early 2011 with the socket P8400?
The duel core is not doing the work i need done....

You cannot upgrade the CPU on a notebook. They are integrated onto the motherboard. Sell the one you have then purchase a new one with the quad-core CPU.

  • Jvm on quad-core cpu

does anyone know some good literature
about how the jvm can utilize
the parellism power of a quad-core cpu?
even without spawning a java thread, or otherwise

  • I have a 2011 Macbook Pro 15" Snow Leopard Quadcore icore 7 with 8Gb of RAM and Im a Webpage Graphic Designer but why is my Macbookpro is so slow!?

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro 15" Snow Leopard Quadcore icore 7 with 8Gb of RAM and Im a Webpage Graphic Designer but why is my Macbookpro is so slow!?
I'm opening like Skype, AIM, Chrome the Memory Hog, Adobe Photshop and Illustrator...  Its so slow! I tried Onyx, CleanMyMac, iFreeMemory or just purging  but still i still have to restart to get it back to normal after closing all the applications... im not really impressed with the memory swapping thing,Even though my inactive RAM is like 2GB its so SloW! Anyone knows how to fix this problem?

It's hard to say why your machine is slow, but that machine with 8 GB of RAM should not be slow.  Could be any number of possible problems.  Try taking a look at the Mac OS X Speed FAQ.

  • Is the apple laptop with 4gb ram and i5 better than other laptop with 6gb ram and i5

is the apple laptop with 4gb ram and i5 better than other laptop with 6gb ram and i5

Well it depends on the age.     http://www.everymac.com/ should help you identify the age of the two models.
Apple may use two processors called i5, but newer models have different optimizations than older models.
The processor is usually not the main affect on speed.  RAM helps, but barely unless everything is on an SSD already.   Hard drive speed is usually the limiting factor of speed on computers.   eSATA hard drives with higher RPM can often yield the fastest results because notebook hard drives tend to be slower that are not SSD, but for those you need either Express/34 or Thunderbolt based adapters.

  • Qosmio X500-10T - 8GB of Ram and Windows 7 64 slowness?

I have the 8GB of RAM, and am using the Windows 7 64bit as standard with the computer, but am finding loading into windows painfully slow. How can this be? Ive disabled lots of the startup programs that I dont need, and this has made no difference.
Anyone know of any speed tweaks for this OS?

    Hi
I dont know how much RAM you had before but for Windows boot procedure it makes no difference if you have 8, 4 or 3GB RAM. Windows 7 with all drivers need less as 1GB RAM. You will only notice a performance boost of 8GB RAM if you open a lot of programs they need much RAM, like games, video editing, etc.
Furthermore what do you understand under long boot procedure? 1 minute? 2 minute? 3 minute?
In my opinion everything is ok up to 1 or 2 minutes boot procedure but I noticed that everyone think different about this.
What you can do to improve this is defragment HDD, disable startup programs that you dont need and install only programs that you really need.

jamiesfromportland, greetings:  I do not take issue with your very valid reasons for purchasing RAM from Apple.  However by recommending not to purchase RAM from third party vendors I would suggest is unfounded advice.  Most of the problems that occur with third party RAM are attributable to the lack of adherence to the required specifications, viz. this post.
I would be willing to wager that purchasing RAM from reputable vendors such as OWC or Crucial one would find similar fail/success ratios as those purchased from Apple.  In both cases this assumes that the specifications are adhered to.
I have always purchased RAM upgrades from third party vendors with no performance issues.  True that I do so to save money but I do not skimp on quality.
    Ciao.
