HT3669 Trying to set up new printer

I am trying to set up my Macbook to use our new HP OfficeJet printer. The computer said "The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software." I went to HP's website and downloaded the software and went through the installation process. I got to the Add Printer screen, selected the new printer and clicked on Add. It gave me the same message about the software being unavailable. It is as if it is still trying to get the software from Apple instead of using what I downloaded. How do I get around this?

What I have found that works for this situation, is to plug the printer into your Mac with a USB cable. This is only temporary so that the Apple Updates can go through. Please follow the steps below in order.
1. Close down all open programs
2. Restart your Mac
3. Plug in the USB cable for the printer
4. Allow all Apple Updates to go through
5. If you have installed the software already, just try adding the wireless printer in now
Please let me know the outcome of the troubleshooting.

It is unlikely you need its installation CD-ROM at all.

Voicemail is a Carrier feature... Contact your Carrier...
But first... Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

You need to be running at least the Lion (10.7.5) operating system or higher on your Mac, or using an iPhone or iPad with AirPort Utility installed on the device to set up the Time Capsule.

Trying to set up my Printer for IP.

Hi, ive been trying to set up my iMac to work with my printer that has a IP set up already.
The printer is a HP OfficeJet 6110.The printer is currently set up to work with my two windows based machines. One being a desktop and wired, second being a laptop over IP. Both print to the machine perfect.
Now when I try setting up my printer on my mac I open up my Print and Fax window, then go to my Printer Browser. Right away it finds "P1", which is the name of the IP printer. It then sets it up through Apple Talk, its location being Local Zone. Then it goes to the option of "Print Using". First as Auto Select it sits and tries to find the printer. I once left it running for an hour with nothing. The i go to HP, and my printer is not listed.
Last I set it up as Generic PostScript printer, it works and I extit. I try to print something and the printer begins to run. But when it begins to print it is all symbols and random words.
If anyone could help me I'd be very happy.

Why is it set up as an AppleTalk printer? I thought you said it was an IP printer.
You need to open Printer Setup Utility and click on the Add button. Select the IP Printer icon in the toolbar. Select Line Printer Daemon - LPD from the Protocol drop down menu. Enter the printer's IP address in the Address field. Enter a short name for the Queue field (e.g., Officejet_6110.)
From the Print Using drop down menu select HP, thenlocate and select the printer driver from the list. Click on the Add button.

Just pruchased 7120. Doing set up got to the add paper for alignment The paper jammed and code says hit cancel button and restart. There is no cancel button . I cant clear the paper jam and the only button to access is the on/off button. Says code 6000. HAve unlugged, restarted. Nothing makes a difference. In teh store before I bought it, there display printer had teh same problem. I asked them what happens if I get the same thing on my new printer they opened a new printer and set it up for their display. with out problem. Now I am home with a new one and cant do anything, HELP!

To try and resolve the paper jam, please turn off the printer and unplug it, then remove the back panel on the printer, then the gray plastic piece. Hopefully, you will be able to see the paper that is jammed in the printer and be able to remove it.
Once the gray plastic piece and back panel have been put back on, please plug the printer back in and turn it back on. If the error persists, the printer will require servicing. Please call or email us at one of the methods on the Contact Us page to obtain your servicing options.

Mail does not respond when trying to set up new account

I'm trying to set up my brand new @me.com email account on my brand new Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion 10.8.1. I open Mail and it prompts me to write my name, email adress and password, which I do. Then, without fail, it says 'Searching for mail servers from the specified email address...' for a few seconds before freezing, with that message still displayed. I have to force quit Mail, which is said to be 'not responding'. Anyone know how to fix this?

Trying to set up new email account - phone keeps freezing

I am trying to add a new gmail account to my curve. Whenever I try to - I click on set up, email accounts, and my phone keeps freezing. I went to the verizon store, after 2 hours, they still could not figure it out so they gave me a new phone. I went to another store a couple weeks later with the same problem, they told me they know there is a problem, and "hopefully the programmers are fixing it". Does anyone know of what I can do to add an email account to my phone?

Flashing Amber when trying to set up new Time Capsule

Tearing my hair out here! Have spent all evening trying to set up my new Time Capsule but keep getting to the point where I turn on Airport Utility and it says it can't find any AirPort wireless device! Flashing amber as well...... have reset/ unplugged/replugged / reconnected every cable variation I can think of! NOT a techie but have usually managed to attach other Apple devices no bother. HELP!!

The amber flashing can be anything. Trivial or major.. look up the error in the airport utility.
Another question - how do I check what is on TC i.e. what has been backed up?
Also I have to get a new HD fitted so am hoping that everything is saved ready for me to take computer into repair shop!
Check the TM display.. by default unless you excluded something, everything is backed up.
But I would strongly recommend you do a disk image as well.. you can do this via disk utility or use a tool like superduper which I think is still free download.
Restoring after a disk replacement is much harder than you think.

Make sure your 5c is running the same or higher version of iOS as the one you backed up. If it isn't you cannot restore the backup until you update the phone. Then make sure you are restoring the backup this way: https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521.
You phone won't need to be from the same provider or have the same telephone number to use the backup, but you will need to be signed into the iCloud account that you backed up your old phone to.

How to set up new printer using Automator

I would like to create an Automator workflow to set up a new printer, so that other users can download the workflow and have the process automated for them. The workflow would need to add a new LPD printer, supply the printer's address, queue name, and printer name.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

Trying to connect a new printer to my Mac book, and it cant find the device any suggestions?

I have just bought a new printer a Canon MG5350 and my Mac will not connect to it. It wont find it through wireless and when i connect a printer cord, it recognises the printer but cant find any drivers to support it.
