HT3702 Using a card issued in another country on a different countries AppStore!

Its been ages since I have been using my Bank of Maldives credit card on a Sri Lanka AppStore (BECAUSE MALDIVES IS NOT AN OPTION) and last week due to no balance iTunes store was not able to debit the amount from my card and now when I deposit the amount to my bank my itunes store tells me that my card is not a valid card to be used in a Sri Lanka store due to this matter I'm unable to download or UPDATE my Appstore applications. Please look into this matter as this is very difficult.
PS. this problem is not occuring only to me but to ALL iPhones users in the Maldives.

You can't used 3G when traveling to another country

I live in Canada but I found a new problem with AT&T when trying to get your 3G working when you travel to the states. You have to sign up with with a US address for the 3G to work. I don't have a US address and credit card too only one from Canada. It's a catch 22. Apple says it's unlocked but you can't used unless you have a US address.
So I would like to know how can you use iPad 3G when you travel to US or any other place in the world.. WiFi yes but why buy a 3G when you can't connect to AT&T. AT&T should make plans for people who travel in the US.

Rogers comes with a Micro Sim card with the iPad.
Once the iPad ships in Canada, I'm sure it will. Have you asked Rogers what their plans are for international travelers with an iPad purchased in the U.S. or in another country when the iPad 3G is available in other countries in regards to purchasing a data plan?
The iPad 3G was just released in the U.S., and it isn't available in other countries yet. Obviously the 3G sold in the U.S. is currently set up to have a data plan with AT&T. In order to have a data plan with AT&T for the iPad at the present time, you need to have a credit card with a U.S. billing address, and the billing address must be in an area where AT&T has coverage. They have coverage in most or many places, but not all. No carrier in the U.S. has 100% coverage over every square mile.
This may change for international travelers, but the iPad 3G was just released in the U.S. on Friday and isn't available in any other countries yet.

Actually, it can be used in many countries - including Japan and China where I travel frequently. Verizon is partnered with carriers in many countries. BUT it is only CMDA, and it does not have a GSM SIM for example, so you are locked into using these partners only, and the voice charges are steep (like $1.99 a minute) and data rates ridiculous.
Because of the high rates, I only use text messaging except for urgent calls, and turn off data.
Bought an inexpensive GSM phone to use in China - got a number in-county, and it is very inexpensive, even to make international calls. Use that same phone in the U.S. as a backup (major carrier other than Verizon in the U.S.) (I can recharge the account on-line to ensure the number remains active, even if not using it for months).
Contact Verizon helpful service at 611 and they will give you straight skinny to answer specific countries and rates.

Using itunes while being in another country temporarily - hellllp!

Hey guys, just wondered if you could help me here!
Okay, I'm from New Zealand and I'm in Japan studying for a year. I want to use iTunes here, buy Japanese songs from Japan iTunes but, it says that I can only buy songs if i am within NZ using iTunes New Zealand (because thats what my settings were).
So, I tried changing 'my country' from New Zealand to Japan. But when I read the terms and conditions, it says:
'we are unable to accept credit cards issued by banks outside of Japan'
and plus they state that my billing address should be in Japan.
I only use my credit cards that are from NZ. I don't intend to apply for a credit card in Japan.
Please help. Is there anyway around this?

What isprobably happening is that iMessage/Facetime is trying to reactivate after you turned it off. And perhaps the cel network you are roaming on does not support FT/Imessage. In order to activate IM and FT sends an SMS. Maybe that is not happening.
I use about 5 different SIMs on an unlocked iPhone, as I travel quite a bit. Everytime that I change the SIM, FT and IM usually "reactivate" with the "new"/changed SIM. But all of my SIMS are with carriers that are compatible with the iPhone.

No. You have no place for a sim card in the WiFi only iPad. You MAY be able to purchase a personal MIFI hotspot that will work with a data plan in another country. I have one here in the U.S. that I bought through Verizon, but I assume it will only work on the Verizon network here with my Verizon Data Plan. So you would need a data plan in the country in which you want to use the iPad if this option is available for you.

Can Apple ID created by me be used by my friend in another country?

I bought my friend in a developing country an IPhone. He cannot afford to buy apps that kill be very useful for him n his work. I therefore want to create an ID for him that I link to my credit card here in my country. is that possible? If yes, will he be able to use that ID himself or do I need to log in in my country and buy apps for him? I would f course prefer that he himself could administrate the account from his home.

ITunes gift card usage in another country

Hi, I purchased an iTunes gift card from the states but I am at Turkey right now. Will I not be able to redeem it here? Is there any way I can use this card? For example if someone at the states were to redeem it for me?

Sorry, you cannot redeem a US iTunes card in Turkey. iTunes cards are valid only in the country in which is was sold. And no, someone in the US can't redeem it for you, since you are not allowed to use the US iTunes Store from outside of the US. You'll need to give or sell that card to someone who resides in the US.

Using a Skype number in another country?

Im in Australia and will be travelling overseas soon. Can i buy a Skype number with an Australian area code and use that in another country, e.g. Thailand.
More importantly, wouldn't this mean that my friends calling me from Australia would only be calling me on local rates, since I am essentially tricking the system by pretending I am in Australia.
The following however suggests such a trick may not be possible : "Note that before you can set up a Skype Number for certain countries, you need to provide proof of residence." (although since I am in Australia at the moment and a resident, it shuldnt be a problem for me).

otherwise Skype Numbers work as you have outlined -- you get an Australian number that the expected callers will ideally call at local rates, and your signed in Skype client magically rings wherever in the world you are physically located
buy a calling subscription before buying your Skype Number and you qualify for up to a 50% discount on your Skype Number (depending on the subscription length that you choose)

I'm mexican and I am living in France at the moment but my cellphone number is the mexican one. Giving the fact that Skype To Go charges you first for the local call and second for the international call I just want to know if it will be too expensive to use it here.
Mexican number--> Making a call in France --> To France

i am travelling and have a gift card balance on my account. I buy a new gift card from where i am and i cannot change the country to the new place i am because there is still a balance on the old gift card. how can i use the old one and then put the new one on? the balance is an odd balance....?

Click on your account name in the top right corner of the iTunes store in the iTunes application on your computer, enter your password and click the "view account" button. Navigate to the Apple ID summary where you have the option to "change country or region".
In order to change your location, you will need a credit card registered to an address in the location you are trying to change to.
You cannot change your location if you have credit on your account, if you are unable to spend your credit and leave a balance of zero, contact Apple, which you can do through iTunes Store Support.

Cards delivered to another country

I live in the UK and would like to order a greetings card using the apple cards in iPhoto but have it delivered direct to the USA. When inputting the delivery address there is not option to change the country from United Kingdom. Is there any way around this?

That's not possible. The billing address for the credit card used in the purhchase must be in the same country as the shipping address.

I'm got an Iphone 3GS awhile back and I'm planning to visit my home country (Philippines) for a month or so for an extended wedding/birthday of my sister.
I heard that Apple is connected with Globe Telecoms back in the Philippines. So I was wondering if I could use a Globe simcard for my Iphone while I'm at the country? It's currently locked to ATT. Do I need to go to Globe Telecoms there to be able to use a Globe simcard?

The iPhone is carrier locked to AT&T. A locked phone means no other SIM can work in it.
Now the phone can work out there, however, you have to call AT&T and temporarily add the option about being out of country (forget what they call it). It will cost a tab more to make calls and use data but it is far cheaper than paying roaming charges if you don't add it.
You are not going to find a way to use the iPhone with any other carrier's SIM (legally).

Can I activate iPhone 4S with a SIM from one country and then use with a SIM from another country?

I bought a factory unlocked iPhone 4S from an Apple store in the U.S. and I am in Guatemala. I want to use it now but later on I will move to New Zealand. Can I activate it with a SIM card from Guatemala and then use it with a SIM card from New Zealand? I am just wondering if it will get locked with the Guatemalan SIM card. Or does it just need a SIM from any supported carrier and then it remains unlocked to use with any other carrier? Thanks

As I (mis)understand it, you may:
1) Copy one orange gradient path to the magenta gradient path document;
2) Select the two magenta gradient paths and change the Fill to None;
3) Select the orange gradient path;
4) Select the two magenta gradient paths and change the Fill to Gradient.
That should give you the desired replacement. For multiple use of the same gradient, you may consider a gradient swatch.
