I bought an iPhone 3 from eBay and when my husband tried to update it all that comes up on the screen is the imei and iccid numbers along with the iTunes icon and a USB. I can only use it for emergency calls as that is all that happens when I slide it on. Have I paid $250 for a dud phone or what can I do to fix it. Any help would be appreciated .
Sounds like your iPhone was hacked to unofficially unlock it. You can put it in Recovery mode, connect it to iTunes and Restore it in iTunes. Then you will need to call AppleCare, give them the model and serial numbers and find out which cell provider it is locked to. After you get that information contact that cell provider and see if you can get it officially unlocked.

Check the eBay listing. Did it state the device was Activation Locked? If not, then make a claim as Meg stated and get a refund. You will not be able to activate the phone and no one can help you contact the owner, unless that is the person that sold the device. If they cannot remove the phone from their account because it is not theirs, then refund is your route. Even Apple cannot assist with locating the previous owner.

For contact [email protected]Sounds like the Activation Lock is still set to the previous owner. If you are unable to get that Apple ID and password that iPhone is totally useless to you.
Take it back to the shop and demand your money back because they sold it to under false pretenses.

I bought Apple TV 3rd generation a couple days ago. It was no problem in the first day.
I freshly installed iTunes on my computer and tried to learn about Home Share. Next day,it was locked this screen and I cannot move any other screen. The LED light on the front is glitting in fast. I've tried,
1. Holding 'Menu' and 'down' butten for reset.
2. Disconnecting power cable
3. Turning off the router
After that if I reconnect to TV, it shows same.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device) -
