  • Did anyone get a reservation ID from Apple?

Hi, I ordered the iPhone 6 Plus in Gray with 64GB. I was able to complete the order and received a confirmation for my reservation stating "we received your order and have reserved this iPhone for you, we aren't able to contact the carrier as of yet but rest assured" So I received an email from Apple with the reservation ID about 30-45 minutes later, when I click on the link buyiphone.apple.com/status it asks for the reservation number, zip code, and last 4 of social/account PIN (your carrier). After entering the information it just comes back stating "I'm sorry we cannot find your reservation, make sure you enter the information accurately", yet I copied and pasted most of it.

Boy were you lucky. I stayed up until 12:30 am Mountain DL time, then stated trying to get on the Apple Store site. After 2 hours of trying to get to the site, I went to Plan B and went to the AT&T site and ordered the 6 Plus 64G. No estimate at that time as to delivery date.
This morning, because I delayed an hour and a half trying to get on the Apple site, may delivery date is Oct 31 to Nov 20! I will be trading my phone in Oct 3, so I wonder if they will just not charge me for the month that I will be without a phone?
One thing I did learn was to NOT to trust Apple in critical situations. They obviously knew of the problems with their systems and still failed miserably in keeping people in the loop when there was a problem.

  • Has anyone ever had an email from Apple asking them to update their details for their Apple account on IPad? Kinda worried as it asks for my bank details and bank account number and security code on the back of the card. Thanks :)

Has anyone ever had an email from Apple on IPad asking them to update their account details? The email seems genuine enough as it asks you to sign in with your Apple ID and password and takes you through to the Apple site but am a bit worried as they ask you in the section Update Your Apple account for bank and credit card details and for the security number on the back of the card. Also in the section where it asks for my mobile number it will only take 10 numbers and when ai try to put in the final (11th number) it won't let me. Sorry am new to all this and a bit confused! Any help is gratefully appreciated.....Thanks.

  • Anyone got their uptodate redemption code yet?  Did anyone get a code at an Apple store?

Has anyone received their uptodate code yet?  Or can you get uptodate authorization at an Apple Store?

Ensure that you have an Internet Connection.
At the chime hold down Command-R and follow the recovery, to repair the Yosemite installation. Your data should still be intact.

  • I cannot get a confirmation email from apple regarding my recent pass word change

cannot log into I cloud despite changing password

I completely understand that it's my responsibility to back up my data but I have it set to every 2nd month, not on a weekly or daily basis to back up the data.
Apple might not be in data recovery business but could they not acquire a third party to do this?
    This is what happened:
It was on sleep overnight and when I tried waking it, it was lagging badly. So I shut it down and restarted it. I phoned into techincal support to find out whats wrong, but they were giving me advice to reset the params etc. But i think it made it worse because it didnt want to get passed the white start up screen.
So I phoned back to ask if it's a usual issue with my version of iMac and the man replied that it isn't common and that I should run the disk utility to check the hard drives health.
I installed Mountain Lion on a USB and started the disk utility. Then it highlighted in red that it's a hardware fault and cannot be repaired by the disk utility. Therefore the hard drive has a serious fault with it.
That's when I Google'd for a replacement drive and came across the program. The techincal guy didn't even tell me about it or anything.
If I knew about this sooner, I would have taken it in for a replacement.

  • I keep getting emails from Apple support about changing my password.

I keep getting emails from apple saying someone is trying to reset my password when I have not done such a thing. A couple days ago after the 4th email I decided to reset it myself just incase. Now im still getting a email from apple stating that someone is trying to reset it.

Apple do send out an email if you change your password that is genuine
You could change the password to see if the emails are genuine or phishing by getting a genuine email from Apple
No way otherwise if you cannot tell if they are genuine or otherwise

  • HT5312 I keep getting an email from Apple telling me that my Apple Id has been successfully reset when I did not reset them.  Started early June 2013 and in a month i have had to reset it three times. Apple support was not helpful.  Any suggestions?

I keep getting an email from Apple telling me that my Apple Id has been successfully reset.  I did not reset it.  Since early June 2013 to now i have had to reset it 3 times.  It is not an easy one to remember either. Initally I thought it was some pfishing expedition but no purchases have been confirmed by my visa.  My kids use my Apple Id to download APs and I am informed when this happens.  Nothing strange happening on the financial site at all. Just frustrating as we have to keep updating the ID to use messenger, I cloud etc on all of the devices.  I called Apple Support and the girl initally said she knew nothing about this but then spoke to someone else and they are aware of this ongoing problem and are working on it.  Any suggestions? Are others having the same problems?

If the system didn't ship with Mountain Lion originally and you didn't purchase Mountain Lion yourself, then you will need to purchase. A purchase by the system's original owner cannot be transferred to you.
Unless you have another system on which you have purchased Mountain Lion, you will need to first install Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the iMac, for which you'll need either the original installation disks, if the iMac came with 10.6, or a retail copy of 10.6. Install 10.6 and upgrade to at least 10.6.6, and then you can buy Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store, presuming of course that the imac can support Mountain Lion. See:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/

I am a little suspicious that it might not be legit, especially since I did not buy "Magic" on iTunes, although I did gift it. So, anyone know if this came from Apple?
