New apple wireless keyboard & iPad 3 pairing question
Bought a new Apple wireless keyboard this week. Had some trouble pairing with iPad 3. Took me 4-5 attempts but it finally paired successfully after 10-15 minutes. Question for all you gurus... When the wireless keyboard arrived on Friday, I first paired it with my MacBook Pro. Could that have caused issues when I re-paired the wireless keyboard (today) with my iPad 3. And further, this will sound like a silly question, can the wireless keyboard be paired with two devices? I don't mean simultaneously. Does it screw up any settings to use the key board with separate devices/computers? Wondering -- if I keep my wireless keyboard at my office -- can I go to work with either my MBP or my iPad and simply use this one wireless keyboard? Or should each device have its own dedicated wireless keyboard? That seems redundant but I kind of love this keyboard already and would be willing to buy a second, if need be. Obviously, I don't want to spend extra money if it isn't necessary. Am I going to have to re-pair the keyboard and device each time I switch between the iPad and the MBP? Thanks all. You are always helpful and I appreciate it.
Thanks for the quick reply Skydiver! So...I really should buy a second wireless keyboard so that I don't have to go through the hassle of re-pairing the keyboard when i switch devices, yes? Yes, I believe I've answered my own question as I now sit here with my MBP attempting to pair it to the keyboard. Oy. Taking forever. I don't mind buying a second -- for $69, it seems to be the most efficient thing to do. Now I just need to figure out a way to designate which wireless keyboard goes with which device. Time to buy a little sticker! Thanks again.

New apple wireless keyboard could not be detected
I just purchased a new apple wireless keyboard and not paired with any device before. It could not be detected by my mbp 09 (with most updated software) by "set up bluetooth keyboard" button. It could not detected by bluetooth device serach on ipad2 either. Any setting procedures I missed? I followed all procedures I could find... Please help. Thanks!
found answer here- my wireless keyboard model is MC184LL/B
http://store.apple.com/us/question/answers/product/MB110LL/B?pqid=QXXHTX4T747AAF PXKHXCC72CYAXYU7XXYUPK9UFC74K27FPKF
The Function keys will not all work properly on 10.5.8, all the other keys will be fine. The previous model MB110LL/A would work with all the Function keys on Leopard or Snow Leopard. -

Trouble pairing Apple Wireless Keyboard with N95. Please help.
I bought the new aluminium Apple Wireless Keyboard today and tried pairing it with my N95 (firmware v20.0.015) using the 'Wireless Keyboard" application but it refuses to connect!
Would anyone be kind enough as to shed some light on this issue I'm experiencing? The process is quite simple:
- Turn Bluetooth 'on' in your N95 - Settings\Connection\Bluetooth\On.
- if your wireless keyboard is on, turn it off then on again. This will make it discoverable for 3 min.
- go to 'Wlss.keybd' app on your N95....Menu\Office\Wlss.keybd and open it.
- go to Option menu and select 'Find keyboard'. This will search for available bluetooth devices. Your keyboard name should show up here. When it does, you can press 'stop' so that the phone stops looking for additional devices.
- select the keyboard from the list of found bluetooth devices. You will then go through a sequence of code inputs on both your phone and keyboard (just follow the prompts on the phone) which will 'pair' your keyboard to your phone.
Hey presto, your phone should now be connected to your keyboard! Hope this works for you.

Cannot get new Apple wireless keyboard to pair
I've followed the "how to" document but it does not work -- I'm assuming those instructions applied to the previous generation apple wireless keyboard, but not the new aluminum series.
When I "Add new connection" (either Express or Custom mode) a dialogue box pops up asking me to enter a PIN on the keyboard and press enter. I enter the number given, but I get an error message that authentication "went wrong." I've heard that I need to enter a PIN of 0000 for the keyboard to work, but the Toshiba Bluetooth stack doesn't seem to want to let me choose my own PIN - it always chooses for me.
I have uninstalled the Toshiba stack and tried the XP SP2 stack -- it works with the new apple keyboard when a PIN of 0000 is used. Unfortunately, the XP SP2 stack doesn't have the other profiles I need so I can't really use it.
Has anyone figured this out?So you have entered the according PIN code into the Bluetooth keyboard (not the PC keyboard ! ) and "Link Level Security" was enabled - Is this correct ?
Which Apple keyboard model do you use ? -
I paired my apple Bluetooth keyboard with my iPad. Now I paired it with my iMac it shows paired but I cannot connect to it?
Hello:
Try this on your iPad:
Unpairing a Bluetooth accessory
If you've paired iPad with an accessory that you no longer wish to use, you can unpair the accessory.
From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Bluetooth. If Bluetooth isn't on, turn it on.
Choose the accessory and tap Unpair.

Hi,
I have a mac mini paired with apple bluetooth keyboard and magic trackpad.
My wife has a windows based laptop that she uses and plugs into the display when i am not working on my mac.
I would like to enable her to use the keyboard and trackpad as well, but couldn't fing out whether it is possible, and do i "switch" between the two devices, assuming i don't turn off my mac mini.
(the display has 2 inputs so we just change the source when she is working)
any help woukd be much appreciated
IraBT devices may only be paired with one thing at a time. IMHO, it would be easier to buy additional devices for the non-Apple computer.

Will the new Apple wireless keyboard and mouse work with my Macbook Pro?
Looking at purchasing a wireless keyboard and mouse for my Macbook Pro. Figured the one made by apple will work, but not sure... Any suggestions on a good wireless keyboard and mouse, or knowledge on whether Apples will work or not?
keyboard: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Apple/MC184LLANB/
magic mouse: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Apple/MB829LLABB/
I just got them last week and the keyboard is new and the mouse is used but looks brand new. And you get a free pair of AA bateries with the mouse. And you can get 2AA batteries for the keyboard for an extra $1.29 I highly recommend going this route as I did very recently and am very pleased. -
New apple wireless keyboard doesn't work after upgrade to leopard on mini
I am posting this because I have not seen anybody else post this issue, but it is fixed at this point.
I installed the new apple ultra slim wireless keyboard on my mac mini about a month ago...was working great...until I upgraded to Leopard. The keyboard would connect, and the esc, function, and arrow keys would work great. However, none of the letter, number, or enter keys would work. This was all observed using the 'show keyboard viewer', which is accessible by allowing 'show input menu in menu bar' from the 'international' system preference pane.
I rebooted many times and even updated to the latest leopard patch set.
During this whole time, the wireless mighty mouse has worked without issue.
I removed the device and added several times with no change. I even moved the wireless keyboard to my G5 and it worked great over there.
After a few days of trying various things to no avail, I was finally able to get the keys to work, but I am not sure why. I had a wired keyboard connected and kept going back and forth between the wireless and wired keyboard and all of a sudden it started working. Very strange.this problem is fixed, but if anybody has an idea what happened, I would like to know.

New apple aluminium keyboard with iBook G4
Is this keyboard compatible with my laptop? I have some documents i need to type up, and would like to go an ergonomic route, by using an external, full size keyboard. Anyone know if i can use the new Apple keyboard with my iBook? I'm running Mac OSX ver. 10.4.11.
Thanks!
BrigeHi there:
The keyboard should work OK; are you referring to a BT wireless version
or the USB corded one? I use a USB keyboard with my iBook G4, and it
is the older white plastic one. I got a good deal on it and so both of my
computers have the same keyboard (and I have a spare new Pro model.)
The USB keyboard is handy for me, since a wireless one would not work
when I use it for other maintenance routines and startup for things such
as safeboot, reset pram or other stuff that may suit my fancy. A wireless
keyboard won't let you do many of those important things, but USB will.
The new style aluminum USB keyboard is more costly than the one it
replaced, and the older plastic ones are not available (except for any
old stock someone may have) so I jumped at the plastic one for $25.
And the wireless keyboard in white plastic has different specs, they
would have no trouble with most Apple computers so enabled; while
a few computers early on, had some issues with the new aluminum.
Hopefully your choice works well for you.
Good luck & happy computing! -
I can't pair my iPad 2 with my 2006 Apple wireless keyboard with keypad
The iPad can see the keyboard, but when I try to pair them I get a message that the keyboard is not supported. Is there any way to get the two to pair up?
The keyboard is Bluetooth 2.0 it seems like it should work. The iPad is Bluetooth 2.1 but it should be backward compatible. Is your Bluetooth Keyboards firmware up to date?
Check by pairing the keyboard to your Mac, then clicking on the top left Apple>Software Update and if there is a keyboard firmware update, download/install it.
I haven't used my Bluetooth Keyboard with my Macbook Pro in FOREVER, So I DID have to update my Firmware today. -
this is a question?
Hello Mik:
You cannot register a KB. Apple does not keep a database of peripheral devices.
I would question the store about the unwrapped batteries.... I would suspect that the device was returned by someone else.

Please can any help me. My iMac G5 2005 version has just pack up on me. When I press the start button the front light comes on and then disappears within a second and it then goes quiet and nothing happens. Can any body help on what to do or explain what's going on. Many thanks for your anticipation to help but reading my message hopefully you can get in touch if you know anything about what's going on.
Regards
Johnshaw168The most obvious suspect is the PRAM battery.
Depending on precisely which G5 iMac you have:
