HT4113 Got my phone yesterday. Got up this morning to a text message. Now I need a passcode. I never set one and can't get into my phone. What do I do?
I'm not tech savy; just learning to use my new 5-c Iphone. I need to know how to set the passcode when it's assumed I have one already. Does it come with a generic one I can use, then reset?
The iPhone does not come with a passcode. The setting of a passcode is part of the setup process and is something that you have to enter yourself. Either you did it and forgot it, or you allowed someone else to set up your phone. Either way, the only way to remove the passcode is to restore the phone as new. If you have content on the phone, you can do a backup first, and then restore the phone as new. It has to be restored as new to remove the passcode, then you can restore the backup. I've forgotten my passcode and can't get into the phone to turn off "find my iphone" in order to restore it... Can anyone help?
If you know the password to your apple id login - you can then do a restoration once you have put your device into recovery mode using itunes.
read this article to give you direction how to put your device into recovery mode.
Once you have put in your apple id login and password this then will allow you to restore the device once the device is placed in recovery mode.
good luck!

I can't get into my phone! It won't let me type my passcode.
My iPhone 4 was on voiceover (don't know how) and now it won't let me put anything into the passcode feild. So I can't get into my phone at all. I just got this phone yesterday. Can anyone help me?
No worries mate! I'm glad I could help.
If you're worried it might do it again you could try turning off the passcode lock and then turning it back on. That might help. If it does it again, you could try backing up your iPhone and restoring it in iTunes. -

I updated from windows xp to windows 7 and can not get into my itunes account. I get the notice that I am only allowed 5 devices and this isn't a new device just an updated one. How do I get to my itunes?
Take a look at Apple's document for authorizations -> iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization.
You can deauthorize all computers from iTunes. All you have to do is click iTunes Store, click your account name in the upper right corner of iTunes, then deauthorize all. -

I am receiving an Activation Error and unable to get into my phone. It's asking me to register my phone in the iPhone Developer program however I'm already registered. How do I move forward?
Hi, jsgladden.
Here is an article I would recommend when experiencing issues activating a device. The step referring to recovery mode usually resolves the issue.

To retrieve your data, you will need to restore from backup after processing these steps. Here is the article that walks you through restoring from either your iCloud or iTunes backup.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

My iPhone five decided to go crazy and give me a white screen with black stripes and I can't get into my phone. I can only use Siri! What's happening?
You posted in the iPad forum instead of the iPhone forum. To get answers to your question, next time post in the proper forum. See https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa I'll request that Apple relocate your post.
