HT4113 screen is broken on i phone 4s and can not back it up to i tunes what can i do i don't want to lose pic and data
i need to back up my phone but it was dropped at work and now glass is shattered and screen is blue .. have new phone and need to back up this phone but cant cause it needs passcode which i can't put in cause screen is shot .. what can i do?
This means the iPhone has not been connected or synced with your computer since the passcode lock was enabled on the iPhone and too late now.

If you have synced with itunes since you set that passcode you should be able to do an itunes backup which will save the photos even without entering the passcode. -
I can not back up my iPhone. It says I need more storage space. I purchased more space and icloud says it is there, but the phone is not recognizing this and continues to say that I need to purchase more space in order to back it up. Any ideas?
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

My battery drained. Pluged in to wall but screen shows battery with red line but doesn't seem to be recharding after 20 min. Should I wait longer or do a hard restart? I haven't backedup in ages and don't want to lose pics, contacts etc. Will a hard restart wipe all that out?

-Your device needs both the CR and LF. To accomplish this:
option 1: Concatenate the "end of line" string constant (this is a combination of CR and LF, located in the string pallete) to all your outgoing commands. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is false.
option 2: Concatenate only a CR to your command's strings. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is TRUE AND that the termination character is set to 10 (meaning LF) which I think is the default.

Interesting would be to configure the serial port to accept not one but two termination characters. The above links refers to the document "Developer Zone Tutorial: Termination Characters in NI-VISA.", where this is supposed to be possible. The document however is 404'ed.

I have a new PC and need to sync my iPhone5 to the new installation of iTunes. I don't want to lose the data on the phone! How do I do this? The PC is Win8 Pro.
If you have the old PC, transfer the library from it. If not, see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

My PC died and in turn so did my main iTunes library. My iPhone was synced to the library that is gone. Now when I try to connect to another library, it tells me the phone must be wiped clean before I can manage music with new library. Any way around that? I don't want to lose the music that is on my phone. I am looking for a way to tell the phone to "forget" the old library and let me start working with a new library.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on the new one.
It sounds like you have failed to do this, which is not good at all.
You will have to transfer your itunes purchases from your iphone. Authorize your computer for your itunes account
About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization
Open itunes, plug in iphone, do NOT sync, click File>Transfer Purchases
When you do sync you will lose your pics ( photo library - synced from your old computer), your itunes content ( music, apps, videos,etc) , your contacts and your calendars. So do NOT sync yet. This is why a backup copy is so important.
Enter one unique contact and calendar entry on your computer.
When you first sync, you should get the option to merger the data. Choose it.
If you want your pics, then you will need to e-mail them to yourself before you sync. They will not be of the original quality as they are reduced when synced to iphone.
When all is as goos as it can be, then backup your computer, and always maintain the backup. -
I tried to do the 7.0.4 update on my iphone 5 and now it has the itunes logo stuck on screen and when I plug into itunes it states my phone needs to be restored. I don't want to lose all my stuff.... ideas?

MY iPhone 4 was run over at work by a forklift the screen was badly cracked but other than that worked fine for 6 days. Then it got really hot while charging and shut down and will not power back up. I have photos on this phone that we're not backed up to I cloud is there any way to retrieve my photos from this phone?
No. You probably should have backed it up while it was working during those 6 days...

So I appear to be right.. you cannot back up to the internal storage, only to an inserted microSD card..
Anyone care to screen capture a backup on the internal storage? I'm interested to know if anyone can get it working because as I expected, it doesn't work on mine..

I don't know how to change the location of the backup files, but on my n900 it uses the internal memory.
I have not used a microSD card on my N900 so far, maybe it selects the location when the backup program is used for the first time?
The problem with the "no memory card inserted" looks like a bug though.

Do you have a screen protector? If so, try removing it and see.
You can also try cleaning your screen with a lint free cloth, pretty much the same way you clean your glasses. -
I've learned how to reset the phone after an iPhone Not Backed Up message cannot be clicked off of, but my Power button is not working and I've been using the greyed out screen button to lock the screen and power off. Now it is not working to turn the phone off for a reset because the iPhone Not Backed Up message is in the way of sliding the power off feature on the screen. Do I have any options?

I want to sync my I phone user name (my current e-mail address) with my iPad, PC user name (old e-mail address.) If I delete that current address in the iPhone, won't I also be deleting it in my other devices? They are synced. I don't want to lose it. I just want to get it out of the way on my iphone so it doesn't confuse the transfer of ID names and then I want it back again.. I tried deleting the cloud account, being told the current e-mails would be spared. But all it did was pop up a prompt asking me for the password to my still current email ID. So I assume now that I have to go to mail and get rid of the e-mail account. But I'm scared I'll lose everything in my other devices too.
You can change the email address you use as your apple ID. this doesn't mean you have to delete the old email address as email.
When you delete an email from your device, it is only removed from the device, it does not delete your emails or the email account.
