HT4356 AirPrint

Can I use my Iphone hotspot as a router for Airprint to support printing from my Macbook Pro and Ipad?

I don't think Airprint acts as a print server, but it would be interesting to know the results if you try.
However, as a hotspot, I think it is just a router, so as mentioned, it may work if you can connect the printer to the hotspot network.

  • HT4356 AirPrint Support in the Printer Side (Request for Official Procedure/Steps)

*I selected the iPhone community (but this is for Apple's AirPrint Support in general)
We are currently considering to add support for AirPrint
    in our printer-side development.
Does anyone know how can receive official information from Apple regarding
the required procedure/steps to correctly support
    AirPrint in the printer side?
We are expecting that such steps would also contain details
on how our printers can become listed later on
in the following Apple page containing the official AirPrint printers:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
We understand that Apple may need to conduct
some conformance tests in order to consider
that our printer has already officially supported AirPrint,
so we may need to consider such also in our schedule.

The round button at the bottom of the iPad's front is your Home button.  The Sleep button is on the top edge near the right corner.
Normally the Sleep button just puts the iPad to sleep but does not acgtually turn it off.  If you used the "Slide to power off" arrow and turned it off, you will need to hold the Sleep button for several seconds until the Apple logo appears, in order to turn the iPad back on.
I wonder if you did the reset the right way, but just did not hold both buttons long enough for the Apple logo to appear?  I just tried it on my iPad 2, and it took 17 seconds before the Apple logo appeared.  It took another couple of minutes for it to restart to the "slide to unlock" screen.

Can you tell me how to print from my IPad (model MD786LL/A) to my Samsung ML-2165W printer?

printing to a non-airprinter from an iPad
To print from the iPad, your going to have to install some more software:
-- install a printer app on the ipad. many printer makers have iPad applications for their printers.  Look in the app store
-- install enabling software on a computer which you have connected the printer

  • HT4356 Airprinting on epson xp600

This printer is supposed to be AirPrint ready but neither my iPad or iPhone recognize it as an AirPrint option.  What's the trick to getting it to work?

There are some troubleshooting steps here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Check using the panel on your computer to be sure you have the latest firmware on your printer and update it if necesssary.
Make sure the printer and iPad are connected to the same network.
Reset the iPad (hold down the home and sleep buttons, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons), the printer and your router.

I have a HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw that worked fine for over a year.  Now when I try to print from an iPhone or iPad I get a message 'No AirPrint printer found'. I can print wirelessly from my iMac and email to the printer through HP.

  • HT4356 AirPrint on 3G

I am using my new iPad on a 3G network (Verizon).  Do I need to be on a "wifi" network to use AirPrint?  Can I link to my Epson printer on the 3G network?
    Thanks!

unless your network setup allow you to expose your printer freely on the internet for all to print to then it's only
    on wifi
getting it on the internet requrie a lot of setup in terms of ports being opened in your router and in some cases from your internet service provider too some providers charge for the whole static ip setup too

  • HT4356 Airprint Compatible Printers

I see this article was updated January 7th 2013 is the list of printers current & up to date?

It's as up to date as Apple had information as of that date. That's not to say that printer manufacturers may not have announced new models or released updates to existing printers and not informed Apple, so I would not consider that list as being completely all-encompassing and authoritative, no.
    Regards.

  • Can an airprint printer be shared by a usb connected iMAC?

I have a first generation intel iMAC running OSX 10.6.8, a new retina display iPad and an airport extreme. If I get an Airprint enabled printer, can the iPad share the same printer as the iMAC which would be USB connected?

    No.

  • I can't use AirPrint from my ipad 4th gen to Lexmark Pro915. Any suggestions?

My 4th gen wifi/cellular ipad doesn't see my Lexmark Pro915 printer. They both connect to my network just fine. Any suggestions for a solution?

    Hi, Gangusb.
You may find these articles helpful in troubleshooting your AirPrint issue.  As you Lexmark print is an AirPrint compatible printer, some AirPrint printers will require a firmware update out of the box to become AirPrint-enabled. See the manufacturer's documentation or website for details.

  • Help - Receive message "an error occurred printing this document" when using airport express and Ipad

Hi, I am trying to set up an airport express hub to work with a Star tsp100 receipt printer and IPad 2. The IPad is being used to accept credit card payments and I was hoping to print receipts out wirelessly using the airport express and receipt printer. I checked to make sure the airport express has the latest firmware and it does. The IPad software is also updated to the latest 7.1.  I then connected the Airport express and IPad and the network setup with no problems. I connected the receipt printer to the airport express using the USB slot available. While the printer comes up as available, when I attempt to print something, I get the error message "An error occurred printing this document" and I can cancel or Try again. No matter how many times I try, I continue to get this message and I lost as to the cause. When I disconnect and reconnect, another instance of the printer appears, but receive the same cryptic error message when I try to print. Totally lost, please help

    Hi kelston3,
In order to print from an iPad you will need to use a printer that is compatible with AirPrint, which is described in the following article -
    About AirPrint
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
AirPrint printers must be wireless on your network - not connected via USB to the base station. There is a list of printers that are known to be compatible with AirPrint in the article.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L

The only way to print from an iPad is to have a printer that supports AirPrint. Here's a link to an Apple support page on AirPrint.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
AirPrint is way to print wirelessly via Wi-Fi  but it requires that the printer supports AirPrint. The iPad cannot use Bluetooth to print and it will not print when connected via USB.

  • HT4356 HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 color MFP M575 Airprint?

I installed a new HP Laserjet 500 (great fast printer) and all Mac's and Win7 have no trouble printing but iPhone's and iPad's do not find the printer. It is plugged into the Comcast Business gateway which is perhaps not AirPrint compatible? The wireless access point is an Airport Express with up to date firmware. There is no newer firmware for the printer.
I wished there were another way to check whether this "AirPrint" service is on or off on the HP.  My SNMP network thingy on the iPhone shows HTTPS (443), HTTP (80) (great web interface!), Telnet (23), FTP (21) Line-printer (515) and Internet Printing (631).  Should I be seeing something named Airprint or is the Internet Printing it?  I did not enable and subscribe to HL ePrint.  I never had to do that with other HP printers to get AirPrint working.
Any insights or things I should have done?
It is not on the list.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
HP support said it works, It does not for me.

There is a place to verify that AirPrint is On.
Networking Tab, then Other settings. Bonjour and Airprint are Tick'd on mine, though no love printing to it via iOS.
I'm able to get ePrint to work just fine, its the other iOS AirPrint apps that cannot see the printer.

Printer has to be directly connected to wifi, not blue tooth, a pc or through USB to anything.
