HT4623 How can I revert to the previous version of IOS. This new one is crippling me. I can't use contacts or my phone, it keeps freezing. HELP!!
I updated to the new IOS on my 4S yesterday. Today I can't access my contacts. I select one and it freezes for over a minute before the selection is viewed. I can't exist this way. I need my phone for work. HELP!! Is anyone else having this issue? Any solutions? Can I go back to the previous IOS?

What can cause issues for a 3g to not take the new software update? It forced me to restore my phone to factory defaults. After doing that for the 4th time in a month it's telling me that certain songs that previously worked are now corrupt and cannot load. It's also become quite the pain that the push notifications don't work. I've been told over the phone by tech support that most users don't use push because it decreases battery life. I need this feature. I'm an admin on a truck forum and need my notifications ASAP. Now I have to spend a few hours getting my POS back into working order. Any ideas? Oh, don't suggest a phone upgrade either. That's not gonna happen. -
The main part of the safari page is grey and won't respond/can't type in any commands. I can move back through the previous pages, and even open new ones via the URL, but can't get onto the main part of the page and I can't get onto the 9 page option. !?
Help, please.Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
I don't like Firefox 7, how do I revert to the previous version? System restore doesn't work.
With Firefox 7 my computer is slower to boot up and shut down. When typing the website I want in the address bar the old firefox took me straight to the site now it takes me to Google. I decided to upgrade to OS X Mavericks not realizing I don't have enough HD space. Now I cannot do anything with the upgrade. How can I revert to the previous OS X to free up more space on the HD?
You can't. It's already downloaded and filled the drive. The only option is to erase and reinstall.
You may be able to Target Disk Mode if you can connect the Mac to another with FireWire or Thunderbolt Cables (USB will not work and it cannot be connected to a windows PC)
Do you have a Time Machine Backup?
If not best option is getting it in somewhere where they can transfer the data you need off before Erase and Reinstalling OS.
Unless there is nothing on the Machine you need anymore that is, in which case you may be able to Erase in Recovery. It May not work though, if the Disk is too full. -

If you want to revert back to 10.4.8, you can use the Archive & Install method selecting preserve user and network settings with your Tiger install disc.
Afterwards and assuming your Tiger install disc includes an earlier version than 10.4.8, you download the 10.4.8 Combo Update to install 10.4.8. Afterwards, run Software Update to install any available Apple applications or security updates, etc. not included with the 10.4.8 Combo Update.
The 10.4.9 update will also turn up with Software Update which you can deselect and not install.

I'm having trouble opening one app (facebook). Everything else is fine. I've deleted it, reinstalled it, shut down, made sure everything is up to date. Took the ipad to the apple store and was told the software was not up to date. Came home, plugged it in to the computer, and it tells me everything is up to date? Help!
A word of caution: What may not be up to date is the version of iTunes you are running on your computer.

If restoring to the previous state from backup isn't an option (hopefully it is), it may be easier to try to resolve what is causing problems. It's possible that some incompatible software you have installed is messing with the smooth running of your Mac.
