HT4623 Update Help phone is unusable!!
i have not updated my iphone in a very long time. now itunes doesnt recognize it when i plug it in (the apple store upgraded my itunes) my phone is ios 4 i think. and it just crashed and said plug into itunes. when i plug it in nothing happens.
what can be done?

Close All Open Apps... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

It is not telling you to update your iphone, it is telling you that you need to update itunes on your computer.

I updated my phone to ios7 and it told me to connect to iTunes. When I did the phone said it needed to be restored. I did this and then iTunes said it can't be as it isn't eligible so now my phone won't turn on. Help please!

After updating my phone yesterday it worked for about 30 minutes. Now however, it will not let me "Slide To Unlock" the screen is totally unusable and i have alarms that go off every 8 minutes because i am not able to get into my phone to them off. has anyone else had this problem with it being "stuck"?
Basics from the user guide have always been, and still remain, restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

Then you will need to update to iOS 5.1.1 as outlined above. A word of caution before updating: be sure to import all your photos to your computer and back up your contacts (by syncing with a supported program such as Outlook, to an online service such as Google, or using an app like My Contacts Backup). Failure to do so risks losing your data.
Syncing an iPhone 4 requires:
Mac: OS X v10.5.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later

I updated my phone with the new iOS 7.0.2 and now it won't turn on. The screen says to connect to itunes and so I have. I have gone through the recovery mode and everything but a message saying the recovery was corrupted keeps popping up. I am scared this new update crashed my phone. Please Help!

When I try to update my phone to ios 7 it says i need to update my itunes to 11.0.5, when i check my current version in help menu under check for updates it says I have the current 11.0.5 version. Even the downloader for the update doesnt show that i need to update.Help plzz????
There is some kind of error. The new version of iTunes is 11.1, which although is not available via updates, it can be downloaded from the Apple website here:

After updating iTunes to the newest version you should be able to update your iOS

i udnerstand that you want to update the phone, i want to get an update too, as those many bugs are getting on my nerves.
did you also get firmware 5.11 installed by a nokia service center? thats the way i got this new firmware too (when i had a microphone that was broken, they installed also newest firmware).
as Nokia software updater showed (untill they remove the support "temporarily", for all productcodes always 4.22 as being newest firmware.
however the changes between 4.22 and 5.11 were really just a few minor fixes, even nokia navigator (route66mobile8-oem-version) didnt get updated at all. -
When I did the latest update, my phone was wiped out completely. My laptop that I had everything on, crashed. I have a new laptop, tried to update on it and of course I couldn't without deauthorizing my account then reauthorizing. I need help! I want my ringtones and picturesd back, and can't get them. Does anyone know how to do this given my situation?

Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID? -

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not synced. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not touched with the iTunes sync process. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer which is not handled by iTunes. Most importing software includes an option to delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete. If is my understanding that some Windows import software supports importing photos from the Camera Roll, but not videos. Regardless, the import software should not delete the photos/videos from the Camera Roll unless you set the app to do so.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup. If you synced your iPhone with iTunes before the videos on the Camera Roll went missing and you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since they went missing, you can try restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup. Don't sync the iPhone with iTunes again and decline the prompt to update the iPhone's backup after selecting Restore. -

I updated my phone today on our family itunes account. I currently have the iphone 4 and needed updates. At the end of the update I got a message that my phone info would now be the same as my daughter's ( who usually uses the itune account). I didn't have a yes or no option. It was a statement. Now I am getting her text messgaes and she is getting mine if the other person has imessage. I also got her app's when my phone updated.... HELP!

This issue would be caused by both devices sharing an Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime. I would recommend signing out of iMessage on his device. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out. Once this is done, I would recommend creating a new Apple ID specifically for iMessage and FaceTime here. Then he would need to sign in to iMessage and FaceTime with the new Apple ID.

We'll need more information before anyone can be of much help. What model iPhone is it, what versions of iOS are running on the iPad 2 now, what exactly are you trying to update, and what version of iTunes are you running? And what exactly is going wrong (include error messages if any).
Once we have that information, someone here can probably offer advice. Note that you cannot sync content or upgrade iOS wirelessly until you get your iPhone and iPad up to iOS 5 and that requires that you connect those devices to your computer via the Dock-USB cable.

Hi All. I tryed to format numeric field with patterns num{zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz9} or num{99999999999999999999}. But when I enter 20 numeric characters like 12345678901234567890 as a result I got 12345678901234567000. How fix that problem? Thanks.

Export and then import those images in one step?
I'm slightly annoyed that every time I want to use the export function to create jpeg versions of images, I then have to do the extra step of importing those jpegs into my catalog. Is there some way to do this in one step? If I need .tiff's of .psd's
