HT4972 Make sure your network settingare correct and your network connection is active

Im trying to update my ipad 2 for ios5 through i tunes but my computer say tha i need to make sure my network setting is correct ang my network is active.im not sure which network thoese it meant ?

It's referring to your connection to the internet e.g. via your wifi router. If you are getting a 'network timeout' error when downloadin the update then try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed. Also you can only update to iOS 6.0.1 on an iPad 2, as that is the only version that is 'signed' by Apple for it.

    iTunes RADIO is not working.
“iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again.” Try as I may, as many as ten attempts, trying to connect after restart, after shutdown, nothing works. Just so …
iTunes STORE not “connectable” with my otherwise perfectly-working internet connection, viable, up and running for all other uses.
Simply put, firstly, I can't connect to the internet when I click on Radio.  People are quite suspicious that this is Apple incompetence or your company's famous arrogance for this commonly-suffered problem that you won't or “can’t” fix.
Read the many web comments and you won’t be pleased with yourselves: the suspicion is that if you ruin internet radio on iTunes, Apple will somehow make more money on music downloads, etc. Bull.
Also, thirdly, my old playlist of 20 or so internet radio stations in the Ambient category STILL PLAYS !
Then fourth, I installed the latest available version of QuickTime Player 7.app Version 7.6.6 but it didn’t solve the problem either. I had QuickTime Player.app Version 10.2, but substituted what Apple website said was the latest, LOWER NUMBERED QuickTime Player version of 7.6.6
Fifth, I can't connect to iTunes store no matter what I do or what user group's advice I try. So I can’t buy or download anything from iTunes. Bad for business.
Sixth, I updated to the latest version of iTunes but this weird problem remains. All suggested Apple fixes or user group fixes are useless. Where is Apple’s famous technical competency, vaunted customer support?, and user-friendly product reputation? Get it back, please.
Solve this problem of yours ASAP for us, your numerous disgruntled, dissatisfied customers of iTunes. You can do better, should, and really –in all fairness- must.

NOTE:  no password for iTunes exists in my Keychain. Is this a problem?
Apple ACCOUNT ID, and iTunes ID password, works but not to access iTunes with my healthy internet connection.
Apple store id It works via direct internet connetion but not through iTunes.  Very strange.

  • Something happened and I can't connect to the itunes store on my computer, it keep saying make sure ur network connection is active and try again, but I am on the internet and I do have a connection, it has been working all this time until now

I also had my phone go into recovery mode and lost everything up until it's last back up and don't have all my son's games I downloaded for him, lost pics, new contacts that i had added.  I don't know what the big hype of the iphone really is, i guess because I am not fully aware of how to use it but I am tired of my itunes store not coming up on my computer and apple wont' help me

Thanks for your quick response, but all of my iTunes account info is correct.  I also just discovered that I can connect with 3G and purchase apps without problems, so it's just the wifi connection (and only with iTunes store) that is giving me problems.  I have made sure I have the latest software/firmware on my Airport Express network, and my iOS devices, and everything works well on all of my devices (can even browse the itunes store and internet) until I attempt a purchase.  I can purchase with 3G but not on Wifi.  The problem arose on both my iPhone and iPad at exactly the same time!

  • Error -6753 Make sure your internet connection is valid and try again. Help

So I just dropped nearly $200 on an airport extreme to throw my desktop PC and wireless mac into a network (since my router just gave out). I had a hard time connecting to the internet, and then magically I got the internet working, but when I open airport utility to configure security settings or update firmware I get:
"An error occurred while trying to access the base station. Make sure your internet connection is valid and try again. Error -6753"
How do I get rid of this? Any suggestions

Error -4 is almost always an indication that the connection between the AirPort Utility application and the AirPort router is is being blocked by....
    1) The Windows Firewall
    2) Microsoft Security Essentials...if installed on your PC
    3) The anti-virus software
    4) 1&2, or 2&3, or 1&3, or all of the above
When I used to use a PC, the only way that I could ever get the AirPort setup was to turn off all of the items above, configure the AirPort, then turn everything back on again.
Life would be tons easier if you had an iPhone or iPad to configure the AirPort Extreme, or you could borrow a Mac for a few minutes.

  • Cannot publish to MobileMe.   Error says, "iWeb couldn't connect to MobileMe. Make sure your Internet connection works and try again."  Connection is OK!

My site will publish to a folder, but will not publish to MobileMe.   Error says, “iWeb couldn’t connect to MobileMe. Make sure your Internet connection works and try again.“  Connection is OK!

Thank you Alancito for your reply.  The recent post you suggested was not necessary because another of your suggestions did the trick:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/11503337#11503337  In effect, it seems to have reestablished my connection to my MobileMe account, and my iWeb site now publishes on MobileMe.
My next step will be to transfer my iWeb site to another Personal Web Provider when MobileMe ceases to exist next June.  Any recommendations for a simple PWP?
    Thank you very much,

Attempting to purchase music on ITunes Store which I have done for years, now get message "your request could not be completed, make sure your computer date is correct and computer accepts cookies from ITunes Store." I have changed nothing. Of course the date and time are correct and my browser accepts cookies.

Now the apple support team won't even e-mail me back. Not even saying no. This is rediculus.

I need help. I cannot connect to iTunes for a couple of days and have uninstalles and reinstalled, I have checked parental controls, I have directly connected modem to computer, I can get online but not to iTunes, checked my firewalls, etc. Please HELP...

i had the same problem and mine was because i had a proxy server running. here's what you do...
    open internet explorer
go to "tools" then "internet options"
    select the connections tab
click the "settings" button on the bottom
make sure the first box that say something like "detect settings automatically" is checked and nothing else.
hit ok and you should be fine. try entering the store again and it should work.
if that doesn't work, check your firewall settings (make sure you don't have the windows firewall running in conjunction with other programs like norton.) make sure your physical connections are all good as well and if you're on a router, configure that.
    hope that helps!

  • Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later; Have been trying to fix for ages.

Hi Everyone, been struggling all day to restore my settings on my ipod, as my little brother has put a restriction password in place and made me not able to get into Safari, iTunes, Camera which I really need. I have tried everything, resetting my proxy settings, turning off the firewall, changing my network location, ran diagnostics. Everything seems fine on that, I post below my results. I also tried restoring from the device, but with the restrictions code in place I can not do so. And everytime I am dowloading the software update before the restore it comes up with 'Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later'. I have been using google for ages and am not sure what I have missed.
I am using Windows 7 with an Acer Notebook.
