HT5624 I am trying to update my apps, but the email address I used for my apple ID is no longer valid so i cant update,

I have one apple id for app downloads, but when I try to update my apps it shows a different apple id. The email i used for this apple id is no longer valid so It doesnt let me update.

1-If the apps you just downloaded before are free, you can delete them and install again (that will update).
2-Some people use outlook now, so if you are refering to "hotmail" you can still using it. Just remember your password you had in that time, or renew it here https://iforgot.apple.com/iForgot/iForgot.html and go to outlook.com, that will show a folder in the sidebar called "POP" that's your previous e-mail.

HT1920 I am trying to sign on an old Apple ID through iTunes and it is likely that the email address I used has been closed down. I can not remember the password due to using a new apple ID I frequently use. How else can I retrieve my password or sign in?

I have an old Apple ID I have been trying to log in to retrieve permission for the songs I have bought for my iTunes. However due to it being an old ID, I have forgotten the password and from what I can remember, the email address I used for security was closed down. I am aware that I can go through security questions and when asked for my D.O.B, I have a feeling I never adjusted my settings in the Apple ID account therefore can not get past that question either.

You need to delete them and then download them from the correct Apple ID. This may require repurchasing paid applications.

I am trying to download an app. but the screen on my iphone 4S has frozen when I reached the screen saying it was ready to download and I was
seeing an "OK" button to press. Nothing happens and I can't get out of the screen. When I shut off the phone and cut it back on and go to "apps"

Have you had an issue with a previous purchase from iTunes or has your credit card expired? Even though it is a free app, you may have to update your payment information, since you already have a credit card on file. They have to be updated in iTunes.
If none of that applies, try signing out, Restrt and sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.
if that doesn't work, you may have to contact iTunes Store Support and seek their assistance.

This is your husband's app, only your husband can update it. Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that purchased them. No other Apple ID can update someone else's app.

This is happening because they were purchased with your older Apple ID. Apps and there updates are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, regardless of the ID on your phone in Settings>Store. The only way to stop the prompt for your older ID would be to delete these apps from your phone.

Try rebooting the iPad as well. You might be getting an inaccurate reading and rebooting might clear that up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I tried to update my apps but the app store is logged into my other apple id. What should I do?

I haven;t been using my ipad lately so I have about ten updates. I tried to udate them but my other apple id showed up. I never used this id with my ipad only on an old ipod. I went to my setting and looged out and logged back in woth my current apple id but the same thing happened. SO I just gave in and tried to update with my old password. Now I have a whole bunch of paused apps on my ipad.

All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account/Apple ID that was used to download the apps.
The reason you are being prompted for your other Apple ID is because the apps that need to be updated were downloaded with that Apple ID.
