Hi,
I have had my Mac book stolen & I can't find any proof of purchase, packaging etc.
The Mac Book was purchased 2009 and I registered the Mac Book on the day of purchase.
I have saved various bit of info, the Serial No: W8******7XJ
Can you verify this please?

If you used the hard drive with another Mac then it is likely Mac formatted. It was because you posted in the iTunes for Windows forum (kind of the equivalent to taking a VW to a Ford dealership for service) I thought you might be using a Windows formatted drive.
Thumb drives are not universal. There isn't a "universal" drive format. Some work partly with both systems but are not fully compatible.
Click once on the hard drive icon on the desktop. Fo to File then Get Info. It will say the drive format.
Frankly I have never had your problem with a drive so I can't help too much except in general experience. The prohibitory sign is pretty universal and for some reason you are not allowed to copy to that drive.
I think if you had a Windows computer you'd be unhappy with it too and probably be posting on a forum that your machine was virus ridden and crashing and you didn't know anything about registries... To be honest, I was doing a presentation on a friend's Windows computer and wanted to get it to display a simple image file. There was no way we could get the .jpg image file to open with anything but Windows Explorer which is a web browser! I mean, that's really bad, and of course he was so used to using it without knowing anything about computers that he could not help me. I did my presentation in front of 30 people using Explorer.

I have lost most of my purchased music!! HELP!

I open up my iTunes on my laptop (windows 7), then plug in my iPod. (My iPod is only 2nd generation, I need to get a new one!! : P)
It starts to sync automatically. I think - 'ok dont worry, just carry on!'
When it has finished syncing/charging, i got to my music library and go to put on my music that i have PURCHASED! but for some reason its not there! :/
I know that I can just download again for free, but I have lost nearly all of my music!! and I had something like 300 songs on there
Its just really annoying that I have to do this!!
Any ideas as to why this happens?? HELP!

I have lost all my previous purchases and can't remember earlier account id

I recently bought a moved and changed my email address. When attempting to load old iTune purchases onto a new computer, I deleted. I cannot remember my old email address to capture all my previous purchases. Any idea how to get old Apple ID? We are talking a lot of music not to mention $$.

If you're able to find even one of the songs, you can get info on the song (Select the song, and go to File-->Get info in iTunes) and it will tell you the email address it's associated with.
You may be able to recover the songs from your iPod. A software that may help with that is Senuti. You can google search for it and use that to help you out.
You might also want to check your trash can to make sure they aren't still there.
Lastly, if you still have access to your PC you can try to get a song or songs from there.
Finally, make sure you're doing regular backups so this kind of thing doesn't happen. All it takes is a external mac hard drive, turning on Time Machine, and choosing that drive to back up to.

Depending upon what country that you are in (and whether you've changed countries since buying it and whether it's still in the store) then you might be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone, and the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes.
If some music shows there but not all then check to see if any is hidden : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.

Have Proof of Purchase, but can't find disk to download onto new hard ware.

I had to get another hard drive for my laptop, from wasting liquid all over it. I originally had the creates suite on my mac.
I also can't find my original CD's, yet I do have a my proof of purchase. Is it possible to download the creative suite from online?

If you are talking about the earphones that came with the iPod, nter yur SN here:

If it shows warranty coverage that is all that is needed. However, Apple still has to determine that the earphones were defective

What to do if I don't have my proof of purchase for AppleCare, but I am registered?

Hey, I am wondering what will happen if I need service and don't have my receipt? The AppleCare coverage checker page where you type your serial number, says I have coverage until March 27, 2015. I do not have any proof of purchase, as it got lost in a move. I am just curious if I can get around that part, as long as my serial number is registered and says I'm covered? Has anyone had this problem and gotten around it? Right now I posted another thread about my MacBook Pro being locked up with that circle with a slash through it thing, so I may need the Apple Care. My Ipod needs hardware repair, but don't have proof-of-purchase

Hi guys, I'm new over here. I don't know if I'm even posting in the right place, or if these forums are here for this kinds of questions. Sorry If I'm using them the wrong way...
The thing is that I'm having some troubles with my Ipod Touch. I first realized that there was something wrong with it when I tried plugging to a car adapter. It kind of sounded over the radio, but with very low volume, lots of noise, and without announcing that it was charging.
Then, I went to my computer, plugged it in, and notice that it wasn't getting any charge neither, nor wasn't being recognized by Itunes nor the typical USB discovery. Then I went to my nearest Apple Store and the guy told me that he needed a proof-of-purchase receipt to validate the warranty and repair the Ipod, and that if I didn't have one, I'd have to pay for the repair, and that for what it looks, I'm better off buying a new Ipod.
The thing is that my mom bought my Ipod last November, in the Lenox Square Apple Store in Atlanta, and she then came to Venezuela and lost the receipt (maybe she forgot she needed it, or nobody told her about the warranty so she threw it away).
My question is this basically: what can I do? I've thought of contacting the Lenox Square Store (preferable via email) to explain them what happened, so that maybe they could help me get something that would work as a proof-of-purchase, but there're no email addresses easily visible and I don't wanna waste a Long distance call just to get bummed out.
What do you guys suggest?

I did! And according to the link you gave, it says that my Ipod is Registered, Expired for Telephone Technical Support, and Active for Repairs and Service Coverage, with an estimated expiration date of November 26, 2010, which seems about right--that's the week my mom came back from her trip!
So I'm a little bit more hopeful now, but still a little worrisome: the guy at the Apple Store checked the Serial Number using the bar code beneath the Ipod Box and said, "I need proof-of-purchase 'cause according to the system, this Ipod left a Store on May 2009, so it's ALMOST out of warranty, and Apple will require them that I give them a copy of the receipt."
Still. I'm thinking of printing that screenshot and showing it to him.

Where to repair Zen Micro (I lost proof of purchase)

I have purchased Aperture since version 1. I have lost the original disk

I have purchased all versions of Aperture since version 1. I have lost the original disk and since downloading an update that required the serial number, I cannot use the program.
What is the solution to this problem?

I had the same problem. I had misplaced the serial number for 1.5 and I needed it to reinstall the Aperture 3 upgrade. In addition, I no longer had the disc image for Aperture 3.
Originally, I downloaded the trial of Aperture 3 as an upgrade and then paid for it. This was before it went to the Mac App Store. I had previously bought the hard copy of Aperture 1.5 and then the hard copy upgrade to 2.0.
This is a testament to buying direct from Apple. With a little proof that I indeed bought the product from them, they provided me with a working serial number. I bought Aperture 1.5 from the Apple Store, Soho in New York, and when the transaction was complete I got an email of the receipt. That receipt number is what entitled me to receive this support from Apple. They sent me a link to the disk image for Aperture 3.1, from which I installed Aperture on a fresh hard disk, and then they sent me a working serial number for 1.5, which allowed me to complete the installation. Afterward, I opened Software Update and updated to Aperture 3.2.3. Done!

Need proof of purchase don't have receipt!

Hello back in october i bought a pair of Sony MDR-10RBT's headphones but i need the proof of purchase to get my warranty but i dont have the receipt. I dont entirely remember all the details i gave for the purchase but i know the location and i can tell whatever you need. Also i dont have any BestBuy memberships to help with this.

1.       Any phone numbers or other email addresses that your purchases may be under
2.       The exact date of the purchase (within a day or two)
3.       The exact store location where you made the purchase
4.       The total amount of the purchase, including anything else you bought at that time
5.       A general description of those items, if any
6.       How the purchase was paid for

Help finding IMEI number and proof of purchase for lost iPhone!

I recently lost my iPhone 4 and for the life of me cannot find any record of my IMEI number, which I will need to make an insurance claim. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a hold of this for instance through iTunes on the computer that I backed it up on, or over iCloud?
Also, for the insurance claim, I need to have a proof of purchase. I no longer have the receipt from when I bought it (in an Apple store), however, would it be possible to get something through Apple themselves that would act as a proof of purchase?

The SN is on your box, you can also find it by going to iTunes>Preferences(under the edit menu in Windows)>Devices...hoover your mouse pointer over your iPhone backup, & a popup will appear showing your SN & IMEI number.
As for a copy of your purchase receipt, call AppleCare, or login to your support profile online.

I would just follow the instructions from this article to give your unused 4s to your spouse. Since you have already started using your 5s, you will still be receiving iMessages on that phone and will have no need to receive them on a device that has been replaced.
