HT5824 Trying to sync, add new iphone to icloud, itunes. Need to add serial number so it can be activated. Any suggesstions?
I need to add new phone serial number to icloud, itunes. Find my phone keeps locating old phone. Any suggestions as to how to sync?
I don't understand. Won't the new iphone sync with itunes and icloud, assuming you have provided the Apple ID and password for the icloud? Serial numbers cannot be used to connect to itunes or icloud. Or am I misunderstanding your post?

I synced my iphone 5s but i want to sync it again but an error message keeps saying my phone isn't connected even though it is.
First, check if your Mac is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575
If your Mac is supported, buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard After buying Snow Leopard, I recommend you to make a Time Machine backup and/or a clone with Carbon Copy Cloner, so in case the upgrade fails, you will be able to recover your data.
After that, insert the DVD and upgrade. The disc will install Mac OS X 10.6.3, so open > Software Update to update to 10.6.8. You may need to run Software Update again after updating in order to install iTunes 11.0.1, so you will be able to sync the iPhone -
When i tried to sync my new iPhone to Itunes, I accidentally clicked on sync with my ipod, instead of creating a new one. So now my iphone is the replica of my ipod, deleting my contacts and pictures etc. Is there a way to get it restored?
Only if a backup of the iPhone with all that data on it exists. If one does, restore the iPhone using that backup.

I have problems syncing my new iPhone 5 to iTunes. I read somewhere to disable iPhotos and that has allowed me to sync but my photos are not on my iPhone. How can I fix this?
Try updating to iPhoto 9.4.1. If it's not appearing in your Software Update yet, try updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the following page on the Apple website:
iPhoto 9.4.1
From the release notes for the new version:
What's New in Version 9.4.1
Improves the reliability of syncing to iOS devices via iTunes
Fixes an issue that could cause iPhoto to quit unexpectedly when using the Export command
Addresses an issue that could cause iPhoto to quit unexpectedly when upgrading multiple books, cards, and calendars
Resolves an issue with downloading and viewing photos synced from Facebook albums -

I am trying to set up my new iPhone 5s with iTunes, I've connected my phone to the computer and synced all of my apps and music, but the screen on my phone still continues to say connected to iTunes and doesn't seem to be continuing on with the set up. Any ideas on what's wrong?
Hi Bomag,

At the top of this page click the iTunes Tab. You can update iTunes from there.

I just got a new iphone and tried to sync it with my itunes library. Itunes tells me that it will erase my iphone first as it is already synced with another itunes library. I had my ipod synced with another computer and transferred that library to my new laptop. My music was originally loaded to the library with some favorite CD's and I don't want to do all that over again. Will only my music get erased or will everything on my new iphone get erased?
Only iTunes media will necessarily be erased. There's no way around this.

Itunes crashes everytime I try to sync my new iPhone 4 to itunes.
My old iPhone sync's to this itunes just fine. Tried to see if my my new iPhone would sync to a different itunes and it did. But it won't sync to my itunes without crashing. Right after the first two steps it always freezes up.
Any help? Tried so much and been searching the web for hours. Deleted and reinstalled both itunes and quicktime. I don't have any podcast. Went to older versions of itunes. Restored previous ones saved in my windows 7. Any help much appreciated.I have the same problem with my iPhone 5 (model MD664LL/A), but immediately as soon as iTunes checks in the the iTunes store. Error signature (on Windows XP) is: AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 11.3.1.2 ModName: itunes.dll ModVer: 11.3.1.2 Offset: 00e0d157.
No changes made on this machine, but this crash cripples Windows until it's dismissed. -
I have a Mac OS 10.4.11 that can't update to the newest version of Itunes. It does not recognize my new Iphone 4s. Is there other any way I can sync my phone? Apple support recommended that I update my Itunes from 9.2 to the new version but it won't install.
You cannot use an iPhone 4S with iTunes 9; you must have iTunes 10.5 or later, and that will indeed not run on Mac OS X 10.4. You'll need to upgrade your computer's OS to at least Mac OS X 10.5.8.
If, as Allan requested, you tell us your specific model of Mac, we can tell you what options you would have as regards compatible OS X versions.

Oh my! I just plugged in my new iPhone 4 to my computer and pulled up iTunes (on my computer). Mercy!! The sync added over 140 apps and 325 songs.
Where these all Free Apps?? and Wow! What did I do wrong? I don't like this auto-load-fill stuff. In iTunes you may select and apply which applications and songs you wish to have on your iPhone when it is connected to your computer.
First select your iPhone, under the "Devices" heading on the left banner, then select the "Apps" tab, on the top center banner, to view your Application settings. From there you may check the boxes of applications you want on your iPhone as well as uncheck the ones you wish to remove.
Still in the iPhone device settings, select the "Music" tab, on the top center banner. Then select the appropriate syncing setting, depending on whether you wish to: sync (share) all of the songs in your iTunes library with your iPhone; manually select which playlists/artists/albums/genres you want to access on your iPhone.
After changing these settings, push "Apply" at the bottom left corner and your changes will be reflected on your iPhone.
For more information on syncing your iPhone, see http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf page 18.
