Html and email link in a java application

Hi all
How do you put a email or HTML link into a Java application.
I want to put my web site address and email address into a about dialog.
I would like to be able to open the default email application and web site from this dialog box.

Try just making a label, and formatting it to look like a generic link. Then add a listener that performs the desired action when you click on it. The "desired action" would probably involve starting the user's default browser/mail-program and loading something in it. I have no idea how to do that, but the above should at least get you a "link" that responds when you click it, and that's a start.

Iweb 08 and email links

I've uploaded my site to dogbark and now the email link ( where you say "email me") on each page won't work. Apparently ,the email address box is coming up on the hose at an html code and not an email link. However, when I hyper linked "email me" I linked it to "email message" with my email address. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Can you provide the URL for your site so we can view it first hand? Also it the email link is near the bottom make sure it's not in the footer, entirely or in part.

Discussion eMail link causing class java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError on reply

When forwarding an eMail link from a discussion, if the user follows the link and then clicks on "reply" it causes a class java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
This also happens if you create a favorite to the discussion.

Yes, I did follow the guide in Stefan's Blog and used the correct three standalone SDA files;
actually I found out in CE 7.1.1, these three DC already exist after standard installation and
have not deployed them at all.

Swf files and email links in dreamweaver

Good evening everyone,
Need some help please
I have a button (swf) made in Flash and brought into Dreamweaver to act as an email link when clicked.
When testing, an extra browser window named "untitled" comes up behind the main email window which
pops up fine. I can't figure out where the extra blank "untitled" window is coming from.
swf was made in cs4 with as3 and imported into Dreamweaver cs4.
The following is the code used for the swf file.

The extra browser window will not appear when you run the file live on a server. It is just one of the quirks with local Flash testing.

APSB12-06 And Email Links

I have currently have ColdFusion 9.0 running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter. I recently installed the security update APSB12-06 and followed all of the directions to a T. All of my applications work fine and nothing seems out of the oridinary.
Recently, we've been having some customers complain that they are unable to follow links that are sent to them via emails that are auto-generated from our system. I couldn't figure out why this was happening, since I couldn't recreate the error on any test or system I tried. I recently got in touch with a customer to send me some details about their problem. Turns out the email that was sent from our system was changing the URL in the email to do the following:
What the URL should look like:
http://www.thesite.com/dspThisThing.cfm?id=123&pid=456&sid=789&gid=012
What the customer was receiving:
http://www.thesite.com/dspThisThing.cfm?id=123&pid=456&sid=789&gid=012
As you can see, it was replacing the ampersands with the HTML equivalent. This has never happened before I installed the security patch, and nothing in our system has changed. I've tried fooling around with URLEncodedFormat and URLDecode, but, as you can see, the URL is already properly URL-encoded (no spaces or strange characters).
This isn't happening for ALL customers in all emails on all system. Only some. So I'm lead to believe that maybe it's a matter of the user's email client. It's just curious this has never happened before in the previous six years of this system being used.
I was wondering if anyone had any insight to this problem. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Apparently the "insert raw HTML" function in the text editor on this forum doesn't actually do raw HTML...The second URL in the example above should have "& amp ;" replacing all the ampersands. Hope that makes sense?

I am sending the emails as HTML...Somewhat have to because of the graphic elements of the emails (they are artwork proof emails).
I have the default charset in the ColdFusion Administrator under the "mail" section set to "UTF-8." I have not explicitly tried setting this variable in the cfmail tag though...Perhaps I'll try that.

Help needed to access a file from and email link.

I received an email with a link to an Adobe document. When I attempt to open the link I receive a message " You do not have accewss to the file" How do I gain access?

Then it is the case I mentioned, the author sent the URL from the address bar viewing the form in Edit mode rather than copying the Fillable Form link.
You'll need to respond to the form author and ask them to send out the correct link/URL to the fillable form (which does not ask for any login). They can go to the "Distribute" tab and on the "Web Form" sub-tab click "Copy Link", if the form is "Closed" it will ask if they want to "Open" the form, the form needs to be in the "Open" state to collect responses so say "Yes". This will copy the link to their clipboard and they can then send that link/URL out.
Also, if they close the form (by clicking the X in the upper right corner) and are looking at the "My Forms" tab in FormsCentral, with the form selected there is a "Link" button in the toolbar along the top which copies the form URL to send out.

I've downloaded itunes on my computer, but the iTunes store does not show up and HTML and the links do not work?

I've successfully downloaded iTunes to my PC. Every function appears to work, however when accessing iTunes store it does not come up in HTML format and when I click a link it times out.

Hi Augstiner57, I have the same problem. Did you figure it out? Mine seems to have happened after I updated Apple TV. Now it doesn't recognize my Home Sharing even though on my MacBook is it turned on.
I am running an old OS though (Leopard) so I am wondering if I need to upgrade.

Installing BDB XML and including it into a java application

Hi there :)
I'm new to BDB XML and I've got some questions about it :
1/ The documentation says about BDB XML that it is based on BDB. Does it mean that I need to install the standard BDB first to use BDB XML ? (I'm pretty sure I don't have to but I would like a confirmation =))
2/ I want to developp a web application which will use BDB XML. The documentation says I need to add some jars into my project to use it but do I need to install it on my computer (Windows XP) first ? (with the .msi file ?)
3/ Where will the xml files be physically stored after I add them into the database ? (what is the default database folder on the hard disk ?)

Hi Gary,
1) You need to install only DB XML. BDB is bundled with DB XML, so you don't have to worry.
2) Yes, you need to add two jars: db.jar and dbxml.jar. But these jars depend on native DB XML libraries, so you will have to install DB XML anyway: only jars wouldn't be sufficient. Moreover, I would recommend to install DB XML from sources providing the --enable-java+ flag to the buildall.sh script
3) All XML files will be stored in a container or containers (depending on how many of those you will decide to utilize in your application). It is up to you where you are going to reside DB XML environment/containers -- DB XML is quite low-level XML-database.

Apple released an updated Java package on June 18, 2013 and that seemed to address my problem.

Updated to Firefox 35.0 recently and I keep getting a Java Application error message everytime I pull up a new page

This is more of a heads-up rather than a ques
tion.
I recently update Firefox to version 35. My computer operating system is Windows 7 Starter. Since adding the update every page I pull up I get a Java script error message "Error: 'console' getter called on an object that does not implement window interface."
I followed the steps for trouble shooting extensions and managed to isolate the problem. It was an add-on extension for Youtube Auto HD 1.4. The message no longer pops up.
I hope others out there find this helpful.

That is SMTP in portal is configured .
I could not understand , why it is not going from Portal ?

Can i use EJB components in it?Yes, you can use EJB components. IIS uses Tomcat as a plugin and Tomcats feeds IIS with HTML code. Tomcat performes all the JAVA work including EJB. This links shows you how to install it:

Embedding Internet Explorer GUI in Java Application

let me preface this post by saying that i have seen the javatip66 reference on javaworld.com and that has considerable merit. i may end up using that methodology.
what i would like to be able to do, of course, is to embed JUST the "HTML pane" of IE/Netscape (excluding ToolBar and Address Bar, etc) inside a Java application. i am not an MFC developer, so i'm not sure where to begin looking or if JNI will allow me to hack that dll.--or even if that canvas/panel/whatever can be invoked independently to render a document.
i have several complete, fully working GUI applications that use the javax.swing.JEditor interfaces to display various mime formatted documents (content types such as "text/html" and "text/plain"). unfortunately, the Java implementations of these Editors don't sync with what everyone is used to in IE/Netscape...to the degree that content is intractably mis-displayed (is that a word?)
worst case scenario, i will invoke a new browser to display content, but i would prefer to frame those browsers in my applications. thoughts?
note: one of the primary problems is the the JFC classes support only up to HTML 3.2 which is as good as archaic these days.

i think you just nailed it. i do imagine that this is the correct forum for this, but i could cross-post to the Swing forum. certainly it is going to require switching on the version of Windows. perhaps we can find a general/create a discussion on integrating ActiveX controls in Java. [man, this is just the most bass ackwards thing ever. hate doing this kind of thing, but it's the "state of the world."] (at least until Sun/3rd party gets a reasonable HTML document renderer.)

Have you had a look at the Javadocs? The API is listed here and could fullfill your needs. I have seen other customers build their own custom connectors to link to their own custom applications with the API documentation and coding:
