Hi Silvio,
There're some limitation concerning the 32K data.
However in APEX 3.1 this limitation already got removed for the upload of spreadsheets.
I'm not sure if it's already corrected for the html_editor/text_area. (don't think so, it's planned for after 3.1 if I'm correct) But there're some workarounds you can do to solve it. Have a look at the sample code "Save Large Value" here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html

Maximum image size with createImage() in applet

I am making a simple Horizontal scrolling stocks ticker. I made an offscreen image with all the companies,prices etc on the image and just change the x position of the image. My problem is that when the data increases the applet fails to create the offscreen image.Giving the following error:

When the image width goes above 32767 this error props up. Also even if the image size is less than 32767, while scrolling if mouse or any other window comes over the applet the whole applet starts behaving funny i.e. the image scrolling on it disappears or gets converted into a rainbow.
Please advise . Any help/comment is welcome. Thanx in advance .

I am trying to pass a variable os size greater than 32767 from Pro*C to an SQL procedure.I tried assigning the host variable directly to a CLOB in the SQL section but nothing happens.In the below code the size of l_var1 is 33000.PROC_DATA is a procedure that takes CLOB as input and gives the other three(Data,Err_Code,Err_Msg) as output.These variables are declared globally.

Here since DBMS_LOB packages allow a maximum of 32767,the value of l_var1 is not being assigned to l_clob.
I am able to do the above process provided i split l_var1 into two variables and then append to l_clob using WRITEAPPEND.i.e l_var1 is 32000 in length and l_var2 contains the rest.

The Long Datatype has been deprecated use Clob or Blob. This will solve lot of problems inherent with the datatype.

Photoshop CS5 can only decode fax encoded images up to 32767 pixels wide and tall

Dear Sir/Madam,
Can you please help me? I am scanning large drawings using an Xerox 6204 Large printer/scanner. The resolution is set at 600 and saved as .tif. Photoshop CS3 can open files with no problems, but CS5 gives me the following message:
"Photoshop can only decode fax encoded images up to 32767 pixels wide and tall"
I can also view with infarview and open with applications such as corel draw. Am I missing a plug-in or patch update? The same file can be opened in both Photoshop versions if I scan at resolution 300.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

I agree with you... it's a little odd to save on fax tiff format... to be honest, it's not like we have an option on the matter... the XEROX 6204 Large Format Printer/Scanner either give us .Tif or .PDF options... Anyway's no problem with CS3 or other software like mentioned above... so even knowing it's a bit strange to use such format, still does not explain why on CS5 I get this error message. Furthermore if I open on CS3 and save as (same file name and same format .tif) I can then open on CS5!!!!
To my surprise, I did not know it was saving as a fax tif... all I get is tif. Even so if all other software including an older version of Photoshop can open it why CS5 can not? What is missing? As mentioned if scanned at 300 dpi it opens... Confused. Very confused!!

Error starting Acrobat X Pro: ...You need to deactivate another computer within 32767 days to use

The serial number xxxxxxx... is already in use by the maximum allowed computers. You need to deactivate another computer within 32767 days to use this product.
Installed CS6 Design Std (which included Acro X Pro) from DVD. All the apps work except for Acrobat, which gives the above error. The s/n in the error is different from the s/n used for installing Design Std. Per support, fully uninstalled Design Std and any other Acrobat related s/w, then ran a "cleaner" that they provided. Reinstalled CS6 Design Std from DVD ... same problem. Already wasted over 4 hours on Adobe support chat.

I understand that you are unable to activate Acrobat X Pro.
From the error message it seems like Acrobat is taking the standalone serial number and not from the suite.
Have you tried uninstalling only Acrobat and reinstall it from the CS6 suite? If not, then please perform uninstall Acrobat and reinstall it as trial.
Once the reinstallation is completed, first launch a product from CS6 like Photoshop and then launch Acrobat X and check if it works.

How to save XML from a CLOB to a text file (size over 32767 chars)

I am trying to export a table into an XML file. Using various examples, I have learned that is really easy to handle objects smaller that 32767 bytes (characters).
The problem is working with big chunks. My XML CLOB is just over 10 MB in size. I can easilly break it into smaller pieces but then I risk to write chr(10) in the middle of a XML Tag (which happened). I have an idea of finding a way around the problem but there are two issues:
1. DBMS_LOB.instr function returns 0 if offset grows above appx 1100.
2. I tried this in oreder to avid the limitation from item 1.:

The fnction returns vc_return.
I tried to put the length function additionally and found the length to be 4894 (which is much lesser than 32767).
Also when I run the function as anonymous block it works fine but when run as part of the compelte job it fails with above said error !
any thoughts?

Content tab in Options..."Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" and it's box disappeared from my options...I need it back...

I was having problems with some sites having such faded lettering that I couldn't even read them. So I unchecked the box for "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above". That screwed EVERYTHING up...backgrounds on websites are gone and buttons are hardly recognizable on some pages (including this one). I went back to re-check that box, and that option is no longer in the menu...the whole sentence and it's associated check box are completely gone. I even tried tabbing through to see if I just couldn't see them, and nothing. Absolutely disappeared. I also tried checking and unchecking the same box under the "advanced" button settings and that made a difference on how web pages looked, but did not fix the problem...Help???

Note that these settings affect background images.

There should be a User Agent Switcher menu item under Tools, which gives you the browser names you can impersonate.
The menu item name changes to the browser UA you are presently using.
There is also a User Agent Switcher button, you can add it using View -> Toolbars -> Customize, and dragging the button to your toolbar.

Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

Payment Date is Above the Cumulation Window

Hi gurus - We have a situation with a Canadian employee who was converted into our system as a retiree. The only payroll results he has are NAMCs for Year End adjustments.
We are testing an issue related to YE and are making NAMC entries on IT 0221 through tcode PAKY. Payment date = 07/31/2009. Error = Payment date 07/31/2009 is above the cumulation window (07/01/2007 - 07/31/2008). If I use a payment date of 07/31/2008 we don't get the error - understandably. But even if I successfully run an adjustment for 07/31/2008 and then try for the next year, 07/31/2009, I still get the error.
From what I understand, the program is basing the cumulation window on the last payroll resutls. However, in the CRT and TCRT in his last payroll results, he has cumultions for the year 2008 from the NAMCs that were performed for 2008 YE last year. That would lead me to believe that his cumulation window would have moved up (past 07/01/2007 - 07/31/2008).
Can anyone explain how SAP defines the "current cumulation window" and/or how to update the cumulation window to a more recent period?
BTW - the entry in T56C5 is set to 1.

You must enter a paydate within a given time range - the cumulation window.
If one control record is set too far back in the past, the cumulation window is determined incorrectly which leads
to the mentioned error message.
The solution should be:
Please ensure that the control records of all effected payroll areas are set to a period around a date of today.
(This is also valid for the control record of the non payroll relevant payroll area. If you delete this record, note 355889 has
to be applied.)
Also please check the following: Look at IT0000 and IT0001 and check all the records you find. Then check all the payroll
areas and look if any of them are not payroll relevant. Finally have a look at the payroll periods and find out if they were
correctly generated, if not generate them.

Jabber 9.2.5 and above forced Certificates

Hello all,
As some of you may already know as of Jabber version 9.2.5 the client force’s Certificates. If there is not a Certificate that is signed by a trusted CA, then the self-signed Cert is used.
There is no way that I have found to get around this unfortunately and the end result is the first time Jabber client is launched on a PC the person must accept in my case 7 certificate warnings (2xUCM,2xCUC,2xIMP,1xCWMS) that the host it’s connecting to is using self-signed Certs.
You have 3 options to avoid this
Stay on version 9.2.4 for the rest of your life, or until Cisco makes this an option we can opt out of
Deploy the 7 self-signed certs out to all the PC’s (not sure why this is even a real option!!!!)
Lastly you can generate CSR requests from CUCM, CUC, IMP and CWMS servers to be signed by a trusted CA
I will set the record straight first. I know very little about Cert's except the fact I dont' like working with them.

865PE Neo2-PLS users running on Prescott 3.0Ghz and above please come in

It's showing garbage for the cpu voltage in my bios and for those who read my previous posts know what I mean as I had posted the pictures before. I have flashed with different bios ver, tested using different psu, graphics, rams but no luck. Tested using different cpu on my mobo, the voltage showing correctly but they are northwood as I can't find spare prescott to test on my mobo.
I just called intel support to RMA and told them it's problem with the processor but I can't convince them
They want me to test my cpu on another mobo to test it out first but I can't find a spare 1
Anyone experienced garbage reading for cpu voltage so far using this mobo with prescott 3.0Ghz and above? Thanks

Well sad to say I forgot to ask them at the distro center haha coz I thought the problem lies on my mobo and hoping to get 1-1 exchange but when they showed me correct reading for the voltage when they tested my mobo using other cpu, I'm lost trying to figure out what could be the problem you see...
I did mail them today asking did they test my mobo using a prescott but I guess the earliest I can get their reply is tomorrow as they are closed today. Well I might be paying them another visit and ask them to test my prescott on other mobo as well the it's far from where I'm staying
Anyway now I just want to know if any users using this 865PE Neo2 P series mobo showing garbage for cpu voltage when using prescott 3.0Ghz and above to confirm. I guess I'm the only 1 so far haha
