I want to import html files into Adobe indesign document...
But indesign does not support html files...Please give me ur Valuable suggestion.
(*) I can find one of the method is HTML->XML->InDesign
(*)Is it Possible to Load HTML File to InDesign?
(*)Is it possible to Import any otherway?

Yah!. I have convert the HTML Document into XML document, using Find / Replace format.
Example :
<HTML> </HTML> is change to <?xml version="1.0"?><chapter>...</chapter>
likewise, all the tags are convert as per the HTML document into XML File.
Same as <img href="..."> also convert as <Figure ...> </Figure> Tag.
Table Tags
<Table...><TH><TR><TD>...</TD></TR></TH><TR><TD></TD></TR></Table>
as converted
<Table ...><thead><row><entry>... </entry></row></thead><tbody>...</tbody></Table>.
No Problem. Its working fine.

By changing the spot color to Pantone Solid and resaving, I was able to open in Photoshop CS5, however the channel still did not import into Indesign CS5.

You didn't use Pantone Solid, you most likely used Pantone+ Solid (which is a new book).
If you want to open that in Photoshop CS5, you'll need to copy the new book to CS5.
InDesign - they had several bugs relating to spot color channels, which they should be fixing.
But they too may need the new color book data.

How can I refer to an object and a global function in my Edge animation from an onclick="" located in an .html file loaded into an iFrame created within the master/parent Edge animation. Here's what I have...
My main index.html is an Edge animation. One object <div> is a box created within Edge. I have added an iFrame with the Edge code:

However, I had no idea how to reference the changePic() function in the Edge animation. So, just to figure out how to reference the parent animation from an html in an iFrame, I change the onclick="" statements to...

I actually had some success after many attempts with using your code. I can control the .stop() and .play() of the "NamePlate_sym" symbol. Yet, I am still having trouble doing anything else with it. I cannot .hide() it, nor use .html("Change text") on another element on the stage called"Rectangle". If I can accomplish that and all a global function on the stage, I'm in good shape.
I placed the following script in the header of the .html file that gets loaded into the iFrame within the Edge composition:

Once I put window.parent. in the first two lines of code and the last, my test worked. As I mentioned earlier though, I still can't get the syntax correct to .hide() an element (i.e. comp.getSymbol("NamePlate_sym").hide(); does not work), or more importantly, change the innerHTML value of an element on the stage. The code either does nothing or freezes.

What kind of Video can I import into InDesign?

I've read that Acrobat 9 and newer can display flash video files within a PDF. I tried importing an .flv file into InDesign but it did not work. Is this possible to do? Also, are there any other types of video files that can be imported into InDesign?
The idea is to do a quick reference guide for a software application which will have an embedded flash video file showing motion capture of the application in action.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Acrobat 9 can display Flash (SWF) files well if you add the files within Acrobat. However, if you add the SWF files in InDesign and then export to PDF, the SWF files may not play, especially on a Mac. You're better off leaving a placeholder in InDesign and then adding the SWF in Acrobat to the exported PDF. For more details, see Sandee Cohen's entry:

My Issue is - XML files imported into SPRC are not properly loading associated data into SPRC .
When am uploading the XML files manually its working fine in /TDAG/CPM00.
The same when we are uploading the XML files thru basis program IPC (XML) Documents into SAP , its not working .In XMl file it showing its complaint the same time compliance workbench complaint statues it showing empty .

When clips won't play without rendering in the Timeline, it usually means that the clip's specs don't match the Sequence settings.
A .mov file could be made from any number of codecs; the QuickTime Movie designation is merely a container for video files of all kinds. Since FCE only works with the QuickTime DV codec and the Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) natively, if your mov files aren't one of those two, you need to convert them PRIOR to importing into your FCE project.

Where are you importing from – a camera or computer? If you are optimizing at import, make sure the background processes are completed. (Command-9)

You can do it, though the result isn't ideal. Import your episode, then select it in the Music list and hit command-i to bring up the info panel:
However each episode you do this with will turn up as a 'podcast' with no name - and it doesn't seem possible to give it one - containing the one episode:

In my document I have a button that point to url (this url is html file of a second Indesign swf + html).
When I click on button, the url was find an open in another window.
Is it possible to open this second url in the same window?
If yes How.
I think this information is in the swf file and not in html.(How modify the swf code?)

How to clean the cache when you reload the url? (in the html generate file)

Okay, I found the code but I can't get it to work locally. If you have a web server maybe you can upload the files (swf and html) after you Publish them:

you have to have on the stage a link element called "testlink" (see the code above) which would be a Movie Clip with the label testlink. It can be anything from InDesign: a button, a rectangle, a circle, a graphic, you get the idea. Just select that object in Flash and label it testlink or anything you choose but if you change the name from testlink also change the name in the code snippet where the line "addEventListener" is.

About Word 8 and importing into InDesign

Hi,
I have been using Word 8 to write the first draft of a book which I then "place" into Indesign for more elaborate page work.
There is one thing that does not work well for me and perhaps there is a solution to that,
Here it is:
In the work I have a rather large number of images with text wrapping neatly around them.
When I import them they all break and there is no more wrapped text.
I know how to fix this manually but there might be a way of avoiding this. Do you know of any?
Perhaps there is one set of text wrapping which works well for both programs?

The way that word wrap and image-positioning works in Word is so different from the way that it works in InDesign that the image wraps will never be identical if all you're doing is placing the Word file.
In the translation firm where I work, I've placed thousands of Word files into InDesign. I've handled every single kind of Word formatting that there is. Maybe I can help you figure out how to change your Word file structure to improve the import, but not unless I know exactly what you're doing. There are third-party tools that let you roundtrip text back and forth from Word to Indesign and back; maybe something like that would help you out.
But if what you're trying to do is "I made it look the way I want in Word, and now I want it to look exactly the same in InDesign," then the answer is Never In This World.

How should I save Tritone image for import into InDesign?

Photoshop only gives me 4 file format options, and InDesign CS4 only accepts one, .EPS
Otherwise I got the error, "This files uses an unsupported color space."
There are several .EPS options. I chose "Single File with Color Composite". However, I'm concerned because the image looks fine in Photoshop but a little faded when I import it into InDesign and then export it as a PDF.

PDF color changing when imported into InDesign 6

I am importing a customers pdf into InDesign 6. When I do the import the color is changing from the original PDF colors. The original color in the pdf is 0/95/100/29 and when imported to InDesign 6 it becomes 21/98/100/12. Is there a setting I need in InDesign 6 to keep the original PDF colors intact?

Are you using the eye dropper tool to get those numbers? It could be the way the original PDF was created. I have a feeling that the original settings ere set to "adapt" to color workflows or something similar. See if you can open the PDF in Acrobat and set the file to "Leave Color Unchanged" if you can...somewhere in the file's profile or color setting. It could also be the preview in InDesign. If somehow there is a way to find out which color settings were applied to the PDF; you could then match those in InDesign's Color Settings. If it is the preview reading, then the file should proof well. If InDesign has corrupted the PDF's original color, then the file will proof bad. I think it prudent to investigate the PDF's original Color Settings vs. InDesign's. Try posting this question in the InDesign forum and see what you get back. I'd be curious to know what they have to say over there.

Why doesn't my .AVi file import into iMovies

I cannot get iMovies to recognise my .AVI files (from my Samsung ST50).
I can download the files from my camera to my hard drive (so the computer recognises them), and I can play them via Quicktime, so I know they work. But I can't import the .AVI files into iMovies. It seems to process the video when I go to 'Import'>'Movies'...- then nothing appears. I just get a 'No Matching Video' message in the event folder.
However my previous camera (an old Pentax Optio S40) produced .AVI's which I can import into iMovies. Are all AVI's not the same? Or is it a setting in my new camera (I'm not too tech savvy!).

Gradient opacity mask logo-import into InDesign?

I have a quick question—I am using CS4 (illustrator & InDesign) on a Mac OSX platform.
QUESTION: I have a one-colour logotype (just text) that fades into transparency (a gradient opacity mask applied to the type in Illustrator). I would like to verify how I should properly prepare and import this logo into InDesign—to be sure I do not lose the actual transparency effect on various pages when applied in my InDesign book.

The idea that eps is not transparent never actually coinsided with my experience, I admit I do not have lot of experience using eps but whenever I have for the most part I used the eps art with transparent background like this file the signature and the cyan arectangle and the image of the ESB are composed in Illustrator and save as one eps file placed in ID.
As you can clearly see it has a transparent back ground.
I have save eps logos and palce it in QuarkXpress as well with the same result?
If you save the eps with a white background then it willhave a white background.
Here see for yourself.
I meant as an opaque preview then you would have a white background.
