  • Htmldb submit processing question

    Hello,
    I have a form that I build within htmldb application page region section. The code essentially uses htp.p to build multi user form comprise of text boxes, check boxes, drop down lists. When I submit form it should call a plsql web toolkit procedure. However I get the following error:

    I cant figure out what the problem is...

    Please can you post your solution.
    I am trying to do something similar: I have an existing application that uses htp to display Forms. I want to 'wrap' that application with an HTML DB application so that I can develop new functionality using HTML DB, without having to throw away the existing pages.
    I can separate out the htp calls so that the only <FORM> is the HTMLDB one, and I can set a variable so that I know what the action of the original form was. But I can't get past HTML DB checking that INPUT items match it's expected page definition.
    Recreating all the existing Forms in HTML DB is probably a non-starter for me.

    Hi.
    I have a dynamic page, with a bind variable :v_day. On the customization screen the user can select one or more days of the week, or all days. I use this also in a report and then it works ok. In the where clause i use:

    Date_time is a tablecolumn (date).
    When i add this line in the select script from the dynamic page, i get error:

  • Checking permissions in HTML template in 10.1.4

    Hi,
    I'm trying to dynamically add/remove an administration section of my header in my HTML Template, and I'd like find a way to query what permissions the user has on the current page. I've tried using the wwsec_app_priv.check_privilege function in <oracle> tags, but it doesn't seem to work. Has anyone done this before? Can anyone provide a sample?
    Thanks -
    Al

    This is what I've done in an HTML Page Skin for a navigation menu with elements that should only be shown for logged-in users that are in a particular group. I put just the menu code (with the PL/SQL mentioned before that uses htp to display the html) in a Dynamic Page portal component and call it from wherever the menu needs to be displayed in the HTML Page Skin. For example:
    <ORACLE>
    BEGIN
    MYSCHEMA.DYN_MY_COMPONENT.show();
    END;
    </ORACLE>
    Make sure you have a "blank" Unstructured UI Template (nothing in it but a #BODY# substitution tag) to apply to that dynamic page. Create that template under Navigator > Providers > Locally Built Providers > Shared Components > User Interface Templates.

  • PL/SQL region. query get rounded up when displayed using htp.p procedure.

    Hi,
    I tried to apply the above code, but the coordinates don't seem to come out right.
    When I test the following query:

    If your end goal is showing a pretty error message instead of the message that the tables unique constraint raises try the following. This logic will show a nice message and not try to insert non-unique data.
    (1) Create a validation of type "Function Returning Error Text".
    (2) Place similar code like the following in your validation. Notice that if the unique name does not exist the no_data_found returns null allowing the validation to pass.
    DECLARE
      v_error varchar2(100);
    BEGIN
      SELECT 'A person by this name already exists.'
      INTO v_error
      FROM your_table
      WHERE your_name = :P1_YOUR_NAME;
      RETURN v_error;
    EXCEPTION
      WHEN no_data_found THEN
        RETURN NULL;
    END;

  • How can I display a user's real name in release 2?

    In release 1, there was a way to display a welcome message for a user such as "Welcome Jane!" In release 2, I only know how to return the username (using portal.WWCTX_API.get_user) for the user. Is there another procedure available that returns the user's real name? Thanks!

    Here is an example:
    declare
    l_userinfo wwsec_person%rowtype;
    begin
    l_userinfo := wwsec_api.person_info(p_user_name=>wwctx_api.get_user);
    htp.p('First name: '||l_userinfo.first_name);
    htp.p('Middle name: '||l_userinfo.middle_name);
    htp.p('Last name: '||l_userinfo.last_name);
    end;
    but bw aware that not all users have their names specified.

    You can build a form to a procedure in oracle portal that explores the queue with the option browse and prints de type message with htp package. I made it in this way and my applicattion works right. The procedure must loop the select count(msgid) from aq$[queuetable_name] times.

  • Change the value of a field in a form when the form is displayed

    Hello
    I have a report which has a link to a form for updating the records. I have used a link to the form from report which displays the the record to be updated i.e it gets default values from the report. I need to change one of these values at the time of displaying the form. The set_value in the 'before displaying the page' section doesn't change the vaue displayed in the form. I tried in other 'Advanced pl/sql' sections provided but didn't succeed.
    Thank you

    hi,
    let's call the new value u want to set "NewValue"
    insert this code in the before displayin' the page
    htp.p('<script language="Javascript1.1">
    function defaultValue(fieldname)
    var thefield;
    for( var v=0; v < document.forms[0].elements.length; v++)

    thefield = document.forms[0].elements[v];
                        thefield.value='''||NewValue||''';
    break;

  • How to customize blob column text displayed in a report

    Hi All,
    I have a table with column File_name (varchar2) and file_content (blob).
    Report generated by the APEX allows me to show report with two different column
    File Name || File Content
    aaaa Download (link)
    bbbb Download (link)
    I would like to show the report in such a way the File name column is hyperlinked to download the blob content.
    I tried to change the link using the BLOB format mask, but seems it only takes up text value and not column name as #FIELD_NAME#
    Any idea how to achieve this ?

    Upgraded to 3.1 today and now when I try to view the doclib package body under HOME\SQL WORKSHOP\Object Browser the htp.p code from within the package is displayed in large font above the edit window. If I scroll down in the edit window the code stops where the htp.p commands start.
    I tried adjusting my browser font settings, deleted cookies, etc. Nothing seems to work. Strange.
    I'm running IE version 6.0. Any hints would be helpful. Thanks in advance. ~Elizabeth

    I started using TOAD to make code changes to the packages. It has something to do with IE, I can view the code just fine in Firefox. I just wanted to close this thread. Elizabeth

  • OnMouseOver displays Tooltip from hidden column of classic report

    What: The Goal:
    Make easily available more information than fits on one line of the screen without using multiple fixed lines.
    Background:
    Classic report with 18 data items (columns) visible. Has Search box and user can choose number of rows displayed.
    A couple data items can be long (20-30 characters) compared to the screen width. The right-most data item might run 100 characters.
    Proposed Strategy:
    1) Display the first n characters of the long item(s) on the report.
    2) On onMouseOver display the entire item.
    Proposed Approach:
    1) For each column with long data, hold the entire value in a hidden item.
    2) Display long (hidden) value in tooltip (bubble?/balloon?) upon onMouseOver of that value.
    Note: This is not ToolTip/Help for a column but display of the long value for a specifc item in the row of a column.
    Sought After Feature:
    1) To reduce maintenance, would like to implement for multiple columns using a single common block of code.
    Question:
    Given other approaches you know, is this a good approach to achieve the goal? Alternative approaches?
    Howard

    Well it took a while and you really made me work for this. :)
    For the end result hover on the Job Ln Nm column.
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=991202:1
    I added some old code I had laying around. It adds a bubble that will stay up for 5 sec or until you click away or hover on another record.
    What I would do at this point is just truncate (with a substr) the length of the Long Nm to something short. Use whatever indicator you want for the hover. Like for example these glasses <img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#Fndview1.gif"> It's really up to you.
    You'll see there's an AJAX Callback PLSQL where you can retreive and format the content of the popup to whatever you want. You could make it real pretty.
    Here's what I did:
    1. New ShowJob javascript procedure.
    function ShowJob(pThis,pId){
         this.dTimeout;
         clearTimeout(this.dTimeout);
         this.dGet = dGet;
         this.dShow = dShow;
         this.dCancel = dCancel;
         var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$v('pFlowId'),'APPLICATION_PROCESS=FULL_LONG_NAME',$v('pFlowStepId'));
         this.dGet();
         return;
         function dGet(){
               this.dTimeout = setTimeout("this.dCancel()",6500);
              get.addParam('x01',pId);
               get.GetAsync(dShow);
         function dShow(){
               $x_Hide('rollover');
               if(p.readyState == 1){
               }else if(p.readyState == 2){
