Http connection not working on phone
Hi i am trying to connect to a http server using the new nokia n95 phone with T-mobile web and walk(Unlimited 3g internet access)
on the emulaor and on the phones wifi connection, it works. But when i try connecting to the server using gprs/3g it doesnt. The response code never equals to OK . here is my code below:
I know it is not working because has soon as the program makes an attempted to connect, the root.notifyDestroy() closes the application as i expect it too
server = (HttpConnection) Connector.open(url);
server.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.POST);
int rc = server.getResponseCode();
if (rc == HttpConnection.HTTP_OK)
is = server.openInputStream();
else
root.notifyDestroyed();
Alert alert = new Alert ("Error");
alert.setString("Error, server is down");
alert.setTimeout (5000);
Display.getDisplay(root).setCurrent(alert);
throw new IOException("HTTP response code: " + rc);
}
I had all sorts of strange problems getting http connect to work from phones. Most of my problems were resolved by adding every single header I could find that tells the carrier's gateway to leave it alone. Try adding these headers to the connection from the phone, and the response from the server:
connection.setRequestProperty( "User-Agent","Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0");
connection.setRequestProperty( "Content-Type", "application/octet-stream");
connection.setRequestProperty( "Content-Length", ""+(allContentToSend.length));
connection.setRequestProperty( "Cache-Control","no-store");
connection.setRequestProperty( "Cache-Control", "no-cache");
connection.setRequestProperty( "Pragma","no-cache");
connection.setRequestProperty( "Cache-Control", "no-transform");
connection.setRequestProperty( "Connection", "Keep-Alive");
connection.setRequestProperty( "Proxy-Connection", "Keep-Alive");
The content-type will depend on what you are sending. octet-stream is for binary data. If you are just encoding parameters in your POST you may need something else like "application/x-www-form-urlencoded".
The content-length is obviously dependant on what you are sending. The rest of the properties simply tell whoever is transporting the request to leave it alone.
TEMP_MOVED sounds like a redirect or some odd thing. Maybe the carrier is caching the response, and you are actually getting something unnexpected.
Hope this helps.

i have iphone 4 and i used it for a one and half years.i used it in sri lanka and doha qatar also..,recently i update it i.o.s 7, then it was working.after i.o.s 7.0.3 came i again updeted it and now my phone network is not working.now phone is locked.pls help.
I am seeing if I can get another battery even though I do not believe that is the issue. It keeps giving me vdd_under which I believe is under voltage, maybe it is just a faulty battery? It charges up like normal and functions normal (when plugged in, or above 90%) but it gives under voltage warnings and shuts down when in heavy use (using camera or going back and forth to imessage). When just sitting idle it doesn't seem to turn off until that 55-60% mark. It may just be a faulty battery because I feel I installed all of the other cables correctly when replacing the screen, and I don't think those connections should affect the battery anyway except for maybe the logic board cable (the 2nd cable to be unplugged after the battery cable) I guess I could clean that out as well with isopropyl just in case.
Any other suggestions would be helpful... and I will get back to you if a new battery helps. Thanks! -

Ok. That's nice.

Camera connection not working with my camera
Camera connect not working with my Sony boggie camera
The Bloggie will not work because it draws too much power from the USB port on the iPad. The solution is to interpose a powered USB hub between the Bloggie and the iPad - connect the Bloggie to the powered hub, then connect the hub to the ipad accessory. Works fine with my 3D Bloggie.

my iphone 4 fell down from 3 feet height and display is not working now, phone is functioning with calls and messages etc.. except no display please advise me a corrective action...
Take it to an Apple Store and see about getting an out of warranty replacement. I believe it will run you about $150.

Phone screen NOT working but phone IS working
Like the subject says, my screen is not working, but phone works fine.
I was able to guess the 'turn on USB storage' button and I got everything backed up.
I didn't drop or let my anger loose on the phone =P.
This is my 3rd replacement phone! I read another thread on the first page of someone complaining they are on their 4th phone. Prior to that reading, I was hoping I could upgrade or convince them to give me a NEW phone rather than a used. I guess that won't be happening.
I also tried all sorts of battery pulls including waiting 30min before I put it back in...none of this worked.
So I guess my best bet atm is to take it in to the store?
Thanks!I am on my second Droid. The first one was damaged due to me dropping it. I have insurance and had a replacement sent to me. A month later I get the BSOD Black or Blank Screen of Death. I did the battery thing as well as a hard rest and nothing.
I am three months away from an upgrade and I am starting to think of downgrading to just an ordinary phone.
It seems that smartphones are too problematic and require dealing with multiple parties i.e Verizon, Motorola, and the Insurance company for the phone. -
My iPhone 5 is not restoring because it is locked with a passcode , it's the same computer and I m entering the password and it's not working the phone is not responding

X-Fi Titanium PCI Express front pannel connection not working
<font face="verdana,geneva" size="3">I can not get any signal to or from the front pannel connector of my X-Fi Titanium PCI Express. (The rear jacks are working fine.)
<font face="verdana,geneva" size="3">The front header cable from my Antec P-80B worked perfectly with my onboard motherboard sound. Now that I have it connected to my X-Fi I get nothing from the jacks on the front of my case. (The onboard sound is disabled in my BIOS.)? I've double and tripple checked the connection and it is properly keyed and fitted. Is there a step or a setting that I'm missing somewhere to get this working? Can anyone confirm that the front pannel connection is acti've on the X-Fi Titanium PCI Express?Re: X-Fi Titanium PCI Express front pannel connection not working? I was truly hoping that would help and I wanted to give you some additional hope. I have a coolermaster case, and it has the AC97 jack on the inside with all my other other front panel connectors for hard dri've activity light, reset, and power on. Three inches down from the AC97 jack, the INTEL HD *which works beautifully with the X-FI, only differs by three wires in different locations and the two pinouts configurations match those of the INTEL site identically.
Please tell me what happens as I would like to post a step by step guide for the others here in the forum. You will know when you have successfully adapted the connector because in VISTA and Windows 7, your sound applet in control panel will have a display of the connectors "lit up" when they are successfully connected. Mine shows FP microphone in the applet when its plugged in, and grayed out when its not. Its great for telling if I am connected on the rear of the soundcard of the front.
Best of luck and .......

Bluetooth connection not working on US Nokia phones from J2ME Midlet (MIDP
Hi All,
We are developing a J2ME midlet (MIDP 2.0 ,CLDC 1.1)which makes bluetooth connection to other devices.The bluetooth
connection is working perfectly on indian nokia phones with Airtel as carrier.But when we deploy the same midlet on Nokia E71
US phone with carrier as AT&T ,the bluetooth connection is not working.The sample code is as follows:
public void run(){
try{
StreamConnection connection = (StreamConnection)Connector.open(btConnectionURL);
// open an input stream to get some data
InputStream in = connection.openInputStream();
byte[] serialData;
readData = true;
while(readData == true){
int lengthavai=0;
lengthavai = in.available();
if(lengthavai > 0){
serialData = new byte[lengthavai];
int length = in.read(serialData);
System.out.println("data read: " + new String(serialData));
dataViewForm.append(new String(serialData));
in.close();
connection.close();
}catch(IOException ioe){
ioe.printStackTrace();
when we try to connect on US Phones],the execution hangs at the following line of code:
StreamConnection connection = (StreamConnection)Connector.open(btConnectionURL);
No exception is caught.
Our midlet is not signed.
In the Forums it is said that the problem is with the unsigned midlet.AS some of the US carriers block the secure API usage
on Unsigned midlet.
But our question is, if we buy a code signing certificate from Verisign or Thawte and sign the midlet, will this problem be solved.
Any other alternative solutions for this ???
Immediate help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
YashYou might want to read this before buying a certificate:
http://javablog.co.uk/2007/08/09/how-midlet-signing-is-killing-j2me/
It's not my blog, but I pretty much agree with what it says. Unfortunately the network operators can control the access 3rd party trusted certificates have, so even if you sign with Verisign for example, the signed midlet may not have any more privileges than an unsigned midlet, depending on network. They do this so that only midlets signed with one of their own certificates have unrestricted privileges forcing anyone who wants a useful application to buy it from the network instead of downloading an equivalent freeware version from Getjar for example. Some networks are worse than others, so signing your midlet will allow it to work on more phones than an unsigned midlet. I think Verisign have some info on AT&T on their website.
The whole MIDP specification for security is a joke, IMHO. I don't mind unsigned midlets flashing up a warning once during an application. Writing 20 files, for example, will give 40 security warnings for reading writing data which is ridiculous, as the user obviously either trusts the app or he doesn't. No one runs an app that they only sometimes trust.
As far as I know the only mobile manufacturer so far to see sense is Sony Ericsson. All of their new phones from Java platform 7 onwards allow unsigned applications access to the file system, bluetooth etc with just one warning when the applications starts.

Widgets that require web connection not working
Hello,
I have an ongoing issue where widgets that I download that require web connection seem to have trouble doing their job, I recently switched from Safari to Firefox could this have anything to do with it.
More specifically it's an i-tunes album art widget that is not working, is it an itunes upgrade thing?
Thanking you all in advance for any suggestions.Hi, I doubt it's FF vs. Safari issue myself.
Give this a try & report results please.
Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers for the Interface you're using...
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Then Apply. These are safer/faster than most ISP's DNS numbers, and have been patched against DNS poisoning.
https://www.opendns.com/homenetwork/start/device/apple-osx-tiger
DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.149.160.49 behind the scenes.
Problems are that many Modems/Routers don't communicate the DNS Servers with macs all that well because they've made mistakes in their Firmware & by golly by gee, they tell MS about the workaround!
Then, many... even major ISPs have DNS problems and may have not even patched them against DNS poisoning! -
[SOLVED]ping and incoming connections not working
Problem: eg.
$ ping google.com
PING google.com (209.85.148.99) 56(84) bytes of data.
no answer so i press ctrl+c, i get:
^C
--- google.com ping statistics ---
56 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 54999ms
i can't use any torrent client because it accepts connections only then i start client(tested with deluge and transmission). eg. i start deluge->torrent start upload->later it won't start upload, but it sends to server info, server get that info(i tested in situation there i'm the only seeder and there is only one leecher which is under my control)
thoughts about that: i searched for solution for a long time, i very doubt that is a software issue, i think it's hardware problem(and about hardware i know nothing). why i think so:
possible cause of problem:
1. kernel upgrade to 3.0=with ubuntu live cd same problems, so it can't be it
2. i deleted windows xp, windows writes something to network card or bios?
3. hardware problem
before problems started i not did something big, so problem could cause only these 3 items.
i don't have firewall, there was one but for testing purposes i deleted it.
network card Realtek RTL-8169 Gigabit Ethernet, driver is latest(but tested and older version)
i tested with 2 different ISP's. one connected over lan and another just my phone connected as modem over usb cable. in both cases ping not work and all other network services works ok, i can browse, ftp works, i can download torrent(if torrent download starts with program start, not later), skype works, internet radio works, etc.
question: what to do, to make torrents work as they worked earlier? i have this problem about few weaks, in past 3 years i don't have such problems.
Last edited by gymka (2011-08-29 14:04:29)I(i mean browser) can reach everything and everythere, but "ping" can't reach sites. Tried ping sites in my country, same result. i get answer from ping only then i ping these sites:
127.0.0.1
and
84.55.46.19(my ISP site for clients)
i can't even ping 192.168.0.1(it's router, so how can i browse if i can't reach router?)
and i can't ping 84.55.46.27(it's my ISP site for public)

Same problems with different ISP so it's not my ISP problem.
Another thing:
# netstat -lnp|grep deluge
unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 344527 1560/python2 /home/gymka/.config/deluge/ipc/deluge-gtk
as i understand 344527 is port on which app listens, but in application shows that it listens on 51128, then i configured to use only 51128 and restarted deluge
# netstat -lnp|grep deluge
unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 522255 1641/python2 /home/gymka/.config/deluge/ipc/deluge-gtk[/deluge]
transmission atleast shows that port 57781(don't know if it listen it)
# netstat -lnp|grep transmission

Iphone 6 plus wifi connection not working
I don't know what the deal is but, I'm getting notifications of emails, and messages but when I go to the app I have nothing there. The problem has expanded and now apps aren't connecting to any wifi. I thought it might have been 3rd party apps, but now even the app store cannot connect. I've tried my home wifi, and my work wifi. Using my data plan, I have no problems connecting to anything. I'm thinking this is an IOS8 issue that needs a patch. If somebody has any other suggestions, I'm all ears!
Nore wrote:
I have always used the iPhone's LED flashing alert to notify me when I get a call or text message. While I was on iOS 8 Beta 2-4 it was working fine. I did a clean install of the complete iOS 8 release and ever since then, the flash alert doesn't work.
Sometimes it will work on incoming calls, but will not work on text messages. I've tried soft/hard rebooting, clean wipe and fresh installs, and pretty much anything in between. Now, today I got my 128GB Gold ATT iPhone 6 Plus, and it's the same thing. Updated to iOS 8.1, reset everything/deleted all contents and settings. Both fresh install, and iCloud backups and still no alerts on text messages, but now I get them on calls. I tried my girls ATT 128GB iPhone 6 and she has the same problem too. My old phone was a 64GB iPhone 5S and hers was a 32GB iPhone 5. Everything was good until the official release of iOS 8.
I've tried searching for related issues, and haven't found anything since 2011 with a quick Google search. Most links just tell you how to turn the flash alert on but no new issues. All of my devices are on iOS 8.1. I gave my father my 64GB 5S with a clean install and he still has the issue as well. So, that makes my iPhone 6 Plus, my girls iPhone 6 and my fathers iPhone 5S not flashing LED on messages and sometimes calls. There aren't any custom vibrations enabled on any if the devices. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it a known bug or am I just not doing something right here? i never had an issue before the iOS 8 release. Any help would be appreciated.

Corporate connectivity not working for some users
Hi,
I'm having an issue that started about a month ago but is getting worse. A select group of users are no longer able to connect using DirectAccess, even though these users have been using their computers for a few months without issue.
BACKGROUND:
-Windows 2008 R2 DirectAccess server
-Windows 7 x64 enterprise clients
-Most clients experiencing the issue have a newer laptop (Lenovo T440 with Intel 7260AC wireless), but the issue is not limited to this model. Also, I have 25+ other Lenovo T440 units that connect without issue to this day.
TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS:
I have tried disabling the various interfaces used for directaccess on these problem machines and have not been able to narrow it down. Essentially- I've noticed the IP-HTTPS interface shows deactivated, so I'll disable Teredo. This
usually allows the IP-HTTPS to show activated, and connectivity is restored. However, after 30 seconds to a few minutes, connectivity will once again drop. So I'll re-enable teredo (default,client, or enterprise client) and connectivity will kick
on for another brief period, but drops again shortly after.
I have confirmed that during these short periods of connectivity working, the wf.msc shows connectivity using NTLM and Kerberos, but the clients just can't seem to stay connected on any interface.
However, in the wf.msc when the clients are not functioning, I only ever see one NTLM entry.LOGS:
Below is a directaccess client log pulled from a non-functioning client before making any changes or any testing. Feel free to ask for the rest of the log if needed-- I have put in place holders for information that may be sensitive. Thank you!!
RED: Corporate connectivity is not working.
Windows is unable to relocationve corporate network names. Please contact your administrator if this problem persists.

ABAP proxy Connection not working in ECC60
Hi All,
We have created the proxies in SPROXY and using it in the report..
All the proxy related configuration are done in LPCONFIG, since SOAMANAGER is not available in this version.
My issue is when I try to establish a connection with a non-sap application through this report, I get HTTP 503, Service unavailable....
When I debugged the report, I see this exception from the proxy "no extended message(SOAP_ESERVER)"....
The report in higher versions works, but the connection is intermittent, which means if I try to execute report first time. I get HTTP 200 OK response.
In this system, I have made the configuration in SOAMANAGER. If I try to execute the same report second time, I get service unavailable, and this is weird. I have
checked with the non-sap application and its up and running. The non-sap application is a Java application. I have imported the SSL certificates, created the Logical port
for the consumer proxy created with the necessary transport settings..
I have done all the configurations in both the systems(lower and higher). Is there anything that I am missing here?
Could anyone suggest me why the connection is intermittent and why its not working in lower version?
Thanks in advanceHi ,
