HTTP(S) and PROXY MAX message?

Hi All
If the h/w configuration is optimal - what is the maximum message size PI 7.1 can process as PROXY (SENDER) and HTTPS (RECEIVER). Are there any limitations or rules of thumbs?
Cheers

That's the SAP tested size. It could be increased upto 2 GB which is the parameter.
You can check the ICM parameter value for your system icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB. Another place to be checked is sxmb_adm -> Integration Engine Parameter -> Specific Configuration -> Value of Tuning parameter EO_MSG_SIZE_LIMIT.
What is your message size requirement?

Prateek

  • HTTP transport  and Sun ONE Message Queue

    How do I get the HTTP transport to work? The docs don't seem to be correct.

    There are a couple of errors in the Sun ONE Message Queue docs that shipped with
    the product.
    The following are corrections for those errors.
    Servlet configuration
    Please note the following correction in the Sun ONE Message Queue 2.0
    Administration Guide, Appendix B -
    The class name of the HTTP Servlet in Step 4 of the "Configuring the Tunnel Servlet"
    section is given as:
    com.sun.messging.jmq.transport.httptunnel.servlet.HTTPTunnelServlet
    The correct class name is :
    com.sun.messaging.jmq.transport.httptunnel.servlet.HttpTunnelServlet
    Client setup for HTTP support
    1.The following connection factory attributes must be specified to use the HTTP
    tunnel connection support.
    JMQConnectionType :
    Set this attribute to "HTTP".
    JMQConnectionURL :
    Set this attribute to the URL that will be used to connect to the Sun ONE
    Message Queue message service (i.e. the URL for the HTTP tunnel servlet).
    Note that there is no need to specify the JMQConnectionHandler attribute as
    mentioned in the Sun ONE Message Queue 2.0 Administration Guide -
    Appendix B.
    2.Before running the client application, set the CLASSPATH variable to include
    jmqutil.jar in addition to the standard Sun ONE Message Queue jar files.
    This file is located at "/opt/SUNWjmq/lib/jmqutil.jar".
    If the "jmqutil.jar" file is not included in the CLASSPATH, the client will get a
    "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError" exception for the class
    "com/sun/messaging/jmq/util/JMQTimerTask".
    3.If you are using an HTTP proxy, set "http.proxyHost" to the proxy server host
    name, and "http.proxyPort" to the proxy server port number using the -D
    command line option.
    An example command line would look like this:
    java -classpath

    /opt/SUNWjmq/lib/jndi.jar:.:/opt/SUNWjmq/lib/jmqutil.jar

  • Is there an issue with the latest version of FF with HTTPS requests and Proxy authentication?

    I'm currently working inside a cope network behind a proxy, which requires authentication.
    When browsing to websites externally to our network I would usually only be promoted once for authentication details; after that I would never see the prompt again until after restating the browser.
    However after the latest update I've found that when visiting HTTPS sites I'm promoted for my login details. But even though I enter the correct information the prompt does not take the details and continually asks until eventually our proxy closes the connection (usually with my account now being locked).
    My other browsers (IE, GC) work fine without problems.
    Any ideas?

    It could be a regression in Firefox 18 that wasn't present in Firefox 17. The developers are known nowadays for including too many experimental changes and my bet is one of them is causing this.
    But to confirm, could you downgrade back to Firefox 17 and still see if it works well with proxy authentication?

  • HTTP Basic Auth and Proxy Auth

    Hi,
    i have a problem with the authentication against a proxy server and against a content provider. At first I have to authenticate against the proxy to get "free internet". The next step is to authenticate against the content provider to get a html or xml file.
    The following source code runs very good in Eclipse, i.e. as JUnitTest. But If I execute the same code within a weblogic server, I will get an error (not authenticated). I believe I get this message from the content provider and not from the proxy because If I test this code within the weblogic server and with no authentication (i.e. google needs no authentication), I will get a valide xml/html file.

    I typically have used Apache Commons HttpClient for anything but trivial URL connections, and especially when combining both basic auth and proxy auth. When you use it, be aware of the "preemptive authentication" flag. One server I worked with didn't send the correct parameters back on particular requests, so I had to turn on this flag to get it to work.

  • Doubts about HTTPS requests and Java proxy

    Hello,
    I need help about SSL connections and Java.
    I'm developing a HTTP/S proxy with Java. To test my proxy, I use Firefox. I configure the proxy option in the browser. The proxy works good with HTTP requests, but with HTTPS requests doesn't work and I don't know why.
    I explain the steps that I do for a HTTPS request:
    * The browser sends a CONNECT message to the proxy.
    I check that the proxy receives the CONNECT request correctly.
    * The proxy establish a secure connection with the content server.
    I use an SSLSocket to connect with my content server, and the SSL handshake is succesful.
    * The proxy sends a 200 HTTP response to the client:
    I send
    HTTP/1.0 200 Connection established[CRLF]
    [CRLF]
    to the application client (Firefox)
    * The proxy sends/receive data to/from Firefox/content server
    I have a Socket between Firefox and my proxy, and a SSLSocket between my proxy and my content server. I use two threads to communicate the client and the server.
    Java code:
    //Thead server-->proxy-->application(Firefox)
    ThreadComm tpa = new ThreadComm(bis_serverSSL, bos_app);
    //Thread application(Firefox)-->proxy-->server
    ThreadComm tap = new ThreadComm(bis_app, bos_serverSSL);
    The "tpa" thread reads from the SSLSocket between the proxy and the server and sends data to the Socket between the proxy and Firefox.
    The "tap" thread reads from the Socket between the proxy and Firefox and sends data to the SSLSocket between the proxy and the server.
    This is the class ThreadComm:
    public class ThreadComm extends Thread{
        private BufferedInputStream bis = null;
        private BufferedOutputStream bos = null;
        public ThreadComm(BufferedInputStream bis, BufferedOutputStream bos) {
            this.bis = bis;
            this.bos = bos;
        @Override
        public void run() {
            int b = -1;
            FileOutputStream fos = null;
              do {
                   try {
                        b = bis.read();
                        System.out.print((char) b);
                        fos.write(b);
                        bos.write(b);
                        bos.flush();
                   } catch (Exception ex) {
                        Logger.getLogger(ThreadAplicacionProxy.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
                        //b=-1;
              } while (b != -1);
        }But this doesn't work and I don't know why.
    I have an Apache server with the mod_ssl enabled as content server, I can send requests (with Firefox) to the port 80(HTTP request) and 443(HTTPS request) without use my proxy and it works. If I use my proxy, HTTP request works but with HTTPS request doesn't work, I look the log of Apache and I see:
    [Tue Apr 27 17:32:03 2010] [info] Initial (No.1) HTTPS request received for child 62 (server localhost:443)
    [Tue Apr 27 17:32:03 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Invalid method in request \x80\x7f\x01\x03\x01

    [Tue Apr 27 17:32:03 2010] [info] [client 127.0.0.1] Connection closed to child 62 with standard shutdown (server localhost:443)
    Why it say? Invalid method in request \x80\x7f\x01\x03\x01 , my proxy sends the data that the Firefox sends.
    I think than I have follow the explanations of [1] but doesn't work, I have problems in implementation in Java but I don't know where.
    I appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks for your time.

    ejp, I have checked the socket between the proxy and server and ... You are right! , I was using the port 80 instead of the 443 (incredible mistake!, I'm sorry). I was convinced that I was using the port 443... Well, is a little step, but I still have not won the war :)
    If I see the log files of Apache, We can see that something goes wrong.

    >
    I think that this happens because Apache receives the data without decrypt, this is the reason because in the log we can see the "Invalid method in request \x80\x7f\x01\x03\x01". This supposition is true?
    ejp, you say that the "Termination is quite tricky." I have changed my code following yours suggestions (using the join and the shutdownOutput) but the threads don't die.
    I explain you what I do:
    (in time 1)
    I launch the thread (threadFirefoxToApache) that reads data from Firefox and sends to Apache.
    I launch the thread (threadApacheToFirefox) that reads data from Apache and sends to Firefox.
    (in time 2)
    threadFirefoxToApache sends the firts data to the server.
    threadApacheToFirefox is waiting that the server says something.
    (in time 3)
    threadFirefoxToApache is waiting that Firefox says something.
    threadApacheToFirefox sends data to Firefox.
    (in time 4)
    threadFirefoxToApache is waiting that Firefox says something.
    threadApacheToFirefox is waiting that Firefox says something.
    and they are waiting... and never finish.
    In time 2, these first data are encrypted. The server receives these data and It doesn't understand. In time 3, the server sends a HTTP response "501 Method Not Implemented", here there is a problem because this data must be encrypt. According to the documentation that I read, the proxy cannot "understand" this data but I can "understand" this data. What's happen?
    Firefox encrypt the data and send to the proxy. This It's correct.
    The proxy encrypt the data another time, because I use the SSLSocket to send the data to the server. Then the server receives the data encrypted two times, when decrypt the data gets the data encrypted one time. And this is the reason why the server doesn't understand the data that sends Firefox. It's correct? May be.
    Then If I want that the server receives the data encrypted one time I need to use the socketToServer, It's correct?
    I will supposed that yes. If I use the socketToServer, the proxy doesn't understand nothing, because the data received from the socketToServer are encrypted (I only see simbols), but the Apache log says that there is a problem with the version? (If I use the socketToServer the threads die)

    What option is the correct? I need use the SSLSocketToServer or socketToServer to send/read the data to/from the server?. Use the SSLSocket has sense because the data travel in a secure socket, but use the Socket also has sense because the data are encrypted and they are protected by this encription. It's complicated...

  • PI 7.0 SOAP message reply HTTP 500 and after the fault message

    Hello Everybody,
    I have the scenario RFC -> XI -> SOAP in synchronous mode.
    I use for the mapping XSLT because I have to put some dynamic data comming from the RFC in the header of envelope.
    At level of adapter receiver SOAP , I flag the "do not use envelop"
    In normal, that works .
    When the is an fonctionnal error in SOAP service, it sends me back an error HTTP 500 and afterwards the fault message in a soap envelop format. In that case, how can I pass over this error to treat the envelop because in adapter, it is stopped and it returns a short dump to the RFC.
    Is there somebody who can help me with this problem ?
    Thanks in adavance for your answers .
    Regards.
    Eric.

    Hi,
    In case of a SOAP error while processing the request, the SOAP HTTP server MUST issue an HTTP 500 "Internal Server Error" response and include a SOAP message in the response containing a SOAP Fault element
    Thanks,

  • UCCX 8.5 https support? and Proxy support ?

    I have to perform backend request thru HTTPS in UCCX 8.5 scripting
    1) Is HTTPS supported in UCCX 8.5 ?
       I have to perform SOAP HTTPS (POST) transaction.
    2) Also to reach the backend sever we have to pass thru a Proxy server, it is possible to add proxy server information in the UCCX environnement to be able to reach the backend ?
    Has anyone done something similair ?

    I have connect to both a Trusted Root CA signed HTTPS server and a Non one too.  Obviously, if the cert is self signed, their will be additional steps required to "accept" it, but that's all within Java, and really has nothing to do with UCCX.
    UCCX can easily handle signed certs.  Take this code for example:
    String http_response = ""
    Set http_response = URL[https://www.google.com/]
    You should get back the HTML response from google.
    However, when you enter the address for a host with a self signed cert, like that of my CallManager, the editor barks.
    To get around that you will need some Java code (don't have any on tap, sorry) to accept the self signed cert.  Hopefully you don't need that.
    As for the proxy goes, I have not done this, but a quick google search yields a few promising results.
    Since you have the SOAP part working, I will assume you know how to embed Java into your script.
    Happy Scripting!

    Yes, that would work if you configure it as a reverse proxy.
    IMHO proxy would be overhead for this. There's many freeware out this which is exactly designed for that, see

    unfortunately the do_not_trust certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

  • Capture http traffic between server and proxy

    Hi,
    I am not a solaris admin so I need some help to capture http traffic between proxy and server.
    I used 'snoop port 80' on my proxy server but this command gives me the traffic between client and proxy.
    PS: i do not have access to remote server.
    Thanks
    Linda

    You probably need this instead:
    snoop host server
    where server is the hostname of the server that you are trying to connect to.
    If you have multiple interfaces, you have to be sure you are snooping on the right interface.

  • HTTP tunneling and reverse proxy server

    We're currently using Windows Media Services (WMS) to stream
    video on our website. There is an option WMS to use the HTTP
    protocol and to specify the port you'd like to use. This has
    allowed us to stream video through our external firewall, through
    our reverse proxy server, and through our internal firewall to our
    media server. I've been trying for two days now to get Flash Media
    Server (FMS) to do the same thing. For some reason the HTTP
    tunneling (RTMPT) protocol doesn't appear to be acting like the
    HTTP protocol that WMS is using. Anyone have some tips on this
    configuration. I've scoured web resources and documentation as best
    I could. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    To give a better picture, here's a more complete description of set up and goals
    Static IP hits external interface of ASA. ASA has a static nat rule to forward it to my DMZ server.
    DMZ server is running IIS 8. Here are what some of the sites look like.
    jira.xxxxx.com -> 10.1.10.21 (ubuntu server) | port 80
    email.xxxxx.com - > 10.1.10.16 (domain joined server 2012) port 80, 443
    media.xxxxx.com -> 10.1.10.14 (domain joined server 2012) port 80, 443
    other stuff like this -> 10.1.10.x port 80 or others
    All of the A records for those domain names point to the static which routes to the ASA and then is NAT'd to the DMZ server.

    hello adzuki45, you already appear to run the latest version of firefox, so this shouldn't be a cause for concern, maybe your desktop shortcut is just misnamed).

  • Proxy to Http scenario and use of mail adapter

    Hi Experts,
                     I am doing a Scenario in which we get Purchase order request(asynchronously) from SRM system in proxy xml format which we have to map to Cxml format send it to third party system(say system 2) as http request.Then we will recieve a response from system2 in Cxml format through HTTP.Now,we have to map this response as acknowledgement to SRM system via proxy if successful or error for the PO created or have some error.If error we also have to mail to the purchasing department about the error occured via mail adapter.I am confused how to start with ,as Proxy to XI is a asynchronous communication and XI to System2 is a synchronous communication as i am understood.Then again XI to SRM is a asynchronous communication via proxy.
    I have request and response External defination for Cxml i.e HTTP side.May be i am wrong if we can do this req and response as asynchronously also.Please give me right way of doing this scenario step by steps and what are we need to do this.
    Thanks

    Hi Abhishek,
                        Thanks for your suggestion and based on that I have configured following steps in BPM:
    Start-    Receive(1)---Transformation(2)-send(3)-switch(4)--
    stop
    ................................................................................. [-Transformation(5)-Send(6)-
    .......................[---Branch 1 for error codeFork--[
    .......................[..........................................................[-Transformation (7)-send(8)-
    Switch(4)----[
    .......................[----Branch 2 otherwise branch-Transformation (9)-send(10)-
    Here,
    Recieve(1) -- is used for recieve request from SRM.Mode is asynchronous
    Transforamtion(2)-- is used for operation mapping between request of SRM to HTTP request.
    send(3) --is used to sending request synchronous to HTTP,mode is synchronous,used synchronous abstract interface,abstract reqhttp and abstract resphttp
    switch(4)-switch Branch1 is used for checking error response to be true---in this branch i use a fork step with two branches
    Transformation(5)--- is used to map HTTP response to Mail response structure
    Send(6)----
    is used to send mail content to Mail adapter
    Transformation(7) & Transformation(9)---- is used to map HTTP response to Proxy response
    send(8) and Send(10) --- used to send mapped proxy response to SRM as to update user status by calling calling Function module using proxy code.
    Is my above approch is correct?
    I have defined my container elements without checking multiline option.Is in my case do we need multiline option. checked ?
    How to debug my BPM scenario from end to end?
    Again, the same question i have not use async- sync bridge here.Does my scenario works fine without this as i am getting hints from my seniours that in this scenario i need async sync bridge concept.If so how to configure and at which steps.
    Thanks
    Deepak
