UCCX 8.5 https support? and Proxy support ?

I have to perform backend request thru HTTPS in UCCX 8.5 scripting
1) Is HTTPS supported in UCCX 8.5 ?
I have to perform SOAP HTTPS (POST) transaction.
2) Also to reach the backend sever we have to pass thru a Proxy server, it is possible to add proxy server information in the UCCX environnement to be able to reach the backend ?
Has anyone done something similair ?

I have connect to both a Trusted Root CA signed HTTPS server and a Non one too.  Obviously, if the cert is self signed, their will be additional steps required to "accept" it, but that's all within Java, and really has nothing to do with UCCX.
UCCX can easily handle signed certs.  Take this code for example:
String http_response = ""
Set http_response = URL[https://www.google.com/]
You should get back the HTML response from google.
However, when you enter the address for a host with a self signed cert, like that of my CallManager, the editor barks.
To get around that you will need some Java code (don't have any on tap, sorry) to accept the self signed cert.  Hopefully you don't need that.
As for the proxy goes, I have not done this, but a quick google search yields a few promising results.
Since you have the SOAP part working, I will assume you know how to embed Java into your script.
Happy Scripting!

  • Different premier support and extended support for E-Business Suite?

    Hi all,
I am very confused about the meaning of premier support and extended support.
What does not include in extendend support?
    Thanks.

    Hi Amy,
A lot of it comes down to support fees, and what kind of patches you can get for the products. In addition to the links that Hussein has provided, you might want to look at Steven Chan's blog to see what extended support means in the context of E-Business Suite:

  • Creative Cloud and Proxy Support

    To whom it may concern,
I am a Technical Specialist for an Enterprise. We use Astaro (now Sophos) as a our proxy appliance. We use Active Directory based authentication to provide internet access to our clients.
I am currently in the process of building a SOE for our Mac workstations. It is based on Mac OS X 10.8.4 and uses deploy studio to install. We have used the Creative Cloud packager to build an installer that contains all the packages for the Creative Cloud suite. The whole suite is installed but I need to be able to connect to the activation servers via the proxy to finalise the installation after deploying the SOE.
When I run the Creative Cloud installer, I am prompted for credentials even though the credentials are stored in the user keychain. When I monitor the proxy activity log, I cannot see these credentials being passed to the proxy. I can see requests being generated but the user is "" or null.
What authentication methods are supported by the Creative Cloud application in regards to proxies? Are there any logs available to narrow down the problem?
The other thing I have noticed, is the Creative Cloud is not honouring the sites in the proxy bypass list. For example if I have 192.150.3.51 in the proxy bypass list under 'System Preferences', 'Network', 'Advanced', 'Proxies', and I try to login into Creative Cloud, I still have requests to this IP address in the proxy log.
Is there a seperate config file for the proxy settings for Creative Cloud?
I also want to pass on that this has cost me (and my company) so far about 4 business days of time so far to diagnose and troubleshoot. We never had these issues with are previous Adobe Volume Licencing agreement and the CS6 product family. Our support techs have admitted that they breach company policy everytime a new mac is deployed just to be able to get CC installed by bypassing our security measures and connecting the mac directly to the internet as they have found that the only reliable method of being able to complete the installation procedure.
This is not an acceptable solution - moving to a redeployable SOE will only make this problem worse as our macs will periodically get re-imaged meaning that we will have to reactivate Creative Cloud again for our users to again have access to their tools and perform their tasks.
I do not believe that our infrastructure is very different to any other Enterprise out there (eg Internet access only via authenticated user) so I am not sure why this was not suppported out of the box.
I would appreciate any help you can provide.
    Thanks
    Michael

    Hi Admin & Marketing,
The Creative Cloud Desktop app and the CCP do not currently provide direct support for a proxy. We expect that functionality will be available with CCP 1.3 release which is expected to release soon. Yes. All the above documents and their associated formats are supported. WBS elements are supported via 'Object Linking' concept in DMS. Search the forum for further details.
    2) What are the other Documents which SAP does not support in Document management system.
SAP DMS is capable enough to support documents in all forms (2D vector image files like AutoCAD,CGM,IGES,HPGL etc; 2D Raster image files like BMP,PNG,JPEG,JPG,PC Paint; 2D ASCII and Postscript files; 3D design drawings/vector files like JT,WRL etc;MS Office files etc) provided the appropriate Workstation Applications and the relevant parameter details are configured.

  • HTTP(S) and PROXY MAX message?

    Hi All
If the h/w configuration is optimal - what is the maximum message size PI 7.1 can process as PROXY (SENDER) and HTTPS (RECEIVER). Are there any limitations or rules of thumbs?
    Cheers

That's the SAP tested size. It could be increased upto 2 GB which is the parameter.
You can check the ICM parameter value for your system icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB. Another place to be checked is sxmb_adm -> Integration Engine Parameter -> Specific Configuration -> Value of Tuning parameter EO_MSG_SIZE_LIMIT.
What is your message size requirement?

  • Is there an issue with the latest version of FF with HTTPS requests and Proxy authentication?

I'm currently working inside a cope network behind a proxy, which requires authentication.
When browsing to websites externally to our network I would usually only be promoted once for authentication details; after that I would never see the prompt again until after restating the browser.
However after the latest update I've found that when visiting HTTPS sites I'm promoted for my login details. But even though I enter the correct information the prompt does not take the details and continually asks until eventually our proxy closes the connection (usually with my account now being locked).
My other browsers (IE, GC) work fine without problems.
    Any ideas?

It could be a regression in Firefox 18 that wasn't present in Firefox 17. The developers are known nowadays for including too many experimental changes and my bet is one of them is causing this.
But to confirm, could you downgrade back to Firefox 17 and still see if it works well with proxy authentication?

  • Mac Support (and general support)

    Hello there,
You already know that we will be happy if you add Audition to your feature CS packages.
I can not find any good reason for why it's not done in CS3/CS4?!
MOST IMPORTANT - Why there is no Mac version of this program?
AND NO, Soundbooth is not adequate replacement for Audition!
Please don't kill this nice program.

Soundbooth is just a limited version of Audition as far as I can figure, perhaps Adobe's prolonged attempt to port Audition to Mac format software.  When/if they get Soundbooth up to the same level will Audition/Soundbooth become, essentially, one product?  Although I also work on a MacBook Pro, Soundbooth held no interest for me because it didn't do much compared to everything I already have.  I was working a lot with Audition but have now moved on to Logic Pro (MBP) and Sonar (PC) and Melodyne Studio (both) as Audition appeared to have reached it's end of life point (until they get it transformed?).  Too bad, I used it from before Adobe bought the company... still use it on occasion.  Not that anyone will be needing my input but thought I'd write anyway.  Too little too late for any significant share in the marketplace except as part of a suite where it will always be limited in what it can do.  So, it seems to me, that Audition will quietly fade away.... too bad.  As long as they continue to sell Audition 3 Adobe will never admit it's over, just that the same team continues to work on both products (only true if they are transitioning Audition into Soundbooth).

  • No Support by Customer Support or Tech Support

From February 3, 2009 until on hour ago February 27,
2009 I have been tossed around back and forth between Adobe
    Customer Support and Tech Support.
Each time I talked to a "Technician" was a new experience!! I
was asked to state my customer ID, Case Number, Serial Number,
e-mail address to each new person I talked to!!
Adobe sent me a defective installation disc for CS3. That
determination was made after 2 weeks of going through the same
    drills time and time again.
Adobe sent me a CS4 disc to replace the defective
disc--WITHOUT A SERIAL NUMBER. I just received the serial number
    one hour ago!!
It appears Adobe does not have a connected data base for
customer service. The nightmare was the passing the buck between
Customer Support and Tech Support. At first I laughed. Then the
    charade became disrespectful of me.
Only after presenting my "Ugly American" front did the crap
cease. This last three calls was simply give me a working SERIAL
NUMBER or my money!! And then it took "48 hours" for that to be
approved. Of course I had to call today--despite the personal
assurance of a "Supervisor" he would get me an answer within "48
    Hours".
I found no integrity in the Adobe support system.
Contribute CS4 is functioning now, finally. Yet I was more
than willing to have my money back!!

COOL happend to me also! Nobody home at Adobe....
    Chronology:
I called your store with a question about getting an EDU copy
of Contribute C4 with which to teach my homeschoolers about web
dev. The guy at the store said fine and sent me a link to
    buy…
I click the link, and conveniently buy the product
THEN, I get en email saying I have to provide more info BUT
    my CARD WON’T BE CHARGED…
My credit card is charged anyway…
I respond to the email, which only gives me a web form, but
yet again I explain my homeschoolers needs…
    No response
I call customer service and say “no problem, if I do
not qualify for EDU pricing, get me my money back…
Customer support says, no, your order is approved, just go to
your account at Adobe.com and download.
My Adobe account says, “Order is pending”…
I lose my cool (listen to the call) and tell the guy at
customer support to get me 1. A license 2. My money back or 3. A
    supervisor
Customer support transfers me to a “supervisor”,
just a mailbox that says “goodbye”… Thanks for
    that customer service guy, lovely.
Finally, I try and send an email, but it bounces or sends me
back to this web form, cool, everybody at adobe is a robot?
I am pretty sure that your EDU site is misleading, and I know
my email trail from you is deceptive as the site takes money (or at
least holds funds) without clear disclosure. Lets get this
resolved, word travels fast on the net, particularly in the
educational sector and this smells bad to me…

  • JMS and FireWall support

    hi all,
we have a central server connected to many remote servers over the internet.
Some of the clients have permanent public IP but some of them are either behind a firewall or are dialuped ones.
How can my JMS application running on the central server communicate with these servers and send data across.
Does JMS support data transfer across firewall ?
    suneesh.

JMS is simply a collection of classes and interfaces defined by Sun that provide a consistent way of publishing and consuming data via topics and queues. JMS does not define how security, firewalls, management and a whole host of other really important stuff should be handled.
For these important features you need to look at specific implementations. There are free implementations as well as a large group of vendors all providing additional functionality on top of JMS.
As one of these vendors I would like to introduce you to Nirvana, our messaging solution delivering JMS 1.1 functionality.
Nirvana (http://www.my-channels.com/products/nirvana.html) has been designed to be deployed externally between an organization, its clients and its partners. It has been designed to accommodate both high and low speed connections ensuring that the lack of performance from one does not impact the other. It has been designed to traverse firewalls and proxy servers.
Take a look at it in action on http://showcase.my-channels.com/

  • Apple Tech Support and the Publish Fiasco

This publishing issue has been something I have fought with from the moment that iWeb was released. It recurs every few weeks, and either resolves its self, or in the most extreme case the last time this ocurred, I had to delete my entire site from my iDisk manually, and spend 10 hours, and repeated attempts republishing.
I had contacted Apple Tech support, and gotten no satisfaction. They escalated the call some weeks ago. I was supposed to hear from an engineer and never did. That is what prompted me to go the extreme route of actually deleting my entire 860 MByte site and starting over.
I installed the iWeb update this morning, thinking that this problem would be solved. It was not. Looking around on this discussion board, I see an awful lot of similar comments. This has made me all the angrier since this is an issue that has been there since day 1, and not been resolved.
I very angrily called Apple technical support, and because I had reported this case multiple times in the past, I was escalated to a higher level support. I have been on the phone with Apple for the past two hours. The engineer ended up taking an extensive report from me. We tried several of the recommended procedures: check privileges on .mac, alter .mac allocation sizes, delete the assets.plist in the domain file, etc. to no avail. Finally stumped, the engineer sent me a program to actually capture a bunch of logs from my machine, as well as a network traceroute, in an effort to see what is going on network-wise in communicating with .Mac servers. He has promised to get back to me later in the week.
I STRONGLY recommend that everyone having issues with this get on the horn to Apple tech support, and immediately demand that the issue be escalated to the higher-level support engineers, especially if you have already attempted the various solutions offered here. If they are bombarded with support calls and people offering to dump logs and send to them, they will resolve this issue sooner than later (hopefully).

I have some information you can pass on to Apple Tech support, if you ever contact them again.
iWeb 1.0, from what I have heard, generally connected just fine, but 1.1 and 1.1.1 did not for many people, myself included.
My own publishing problem turns out to have been because I run a Squid Caching Proxy in my basement. I was fortunate enough to discover why iWeb stopped publishing. My experience is documented here: http://www.untergeek.com/?p=675
Having perused many of the "publishing error" -type posts in this forum, I can tell you that many have discovered that they are able to upload via dial-up or from another site via a different ISP. This leads me to believe that some ISPs block these new HTTP methods, causing iWeb publishing to fail. (The HTTP methods are ACL and DMMKPATH).
So the short version is that iWeb isn't at fault, per se, but rather that the disconnect is between the new HTTP methods and some ISPs performing some sort of filtering. I imagine that Apple's developers had no idea that these new methods could or would be filtered in this fashion.
Perhaps when they find out that this is occurring, they'll make a non-filtered work-around.

  • Does Safari support Automatic Proxy Configuration with a .wpad file?

    Hello,

    HI Morgan ..
Safari is extremely finicky about proxies and according to Wikipedia it dates back to older browser versions.

  • Proxy support with dual proxies

I need to support dual proxy servers in a web-service client software. I am setting the proxy settings as below and try to create the binding and if it fails I will try the second proxy.
    // setup the proxy settings
    System.setProperty("http.proxyHost", proxyHost1);
    System.setProperty("http.proxyPort", proxyPort1);
    try to bind
    if bindingfails {
    System.clearProperty("http.proxyHost");
    System.clearProperty("http.proxyPort");
    try to bind.
I know I have written some psuedocode... what I think is happening is that the second time I try to bind to web service, it still used the same settings as before. Has anyone come across this issue or any one know what is the best way to support dual proxies.
    Thanks

To add to Ajay's correct posting - even if you had an external router to handle the BGP and the agreement from the provider who has assigned you your /28, you could not use the first provider's assigned netblock with a second provider since it is smaller than a /24 - the smallest allowed portable block.
If you were to acquire a provider-independent /24 assigned directly to you from your provider or RIR (ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, etc.) you could potentially use that (still requiring an external router). However it is unlikely that you could get a new one assigned since the /28 suffices for your hosts at this point.
As you describe it now, if you lose a provider, you will lose all your sessions, even under best practices and best possible configuration scenario.
One alternative may be to inquire about redundant service from your preferred provider. Depending on your location's service options, this may be possible. You would be to be diligent in ensuring that the redundancy is adequate to protect your connectivity (e.g., different upstream devices, diverse connections into your building, etc.) In such a service scenario, your provider may be able to retain your IP space and managing routing to you dynamically.
    Hope this helps.
