HTTP server doesn't seem to respond

Hi
I kept a x.html file in public_html directory of my myserver directory inside weblogic
directory. I wanted that file to be served when I would say http://localhost:7001/x.html.
I set the httpd.document.root=public_html/ . What else do I need to do so that weblogic
web server provides me with the html file?

HTTP Server Doesn't Start after install

I just completed an install of the 10.1.3.1 Oracle App Server. It indicated that the install was successful. I can see in the log the BPEL Manager deploying in the default domain, but I do not see any reference to the HTTP server. Also, when I do a *./opmnctl startall* there is no HTTP_Server~1.log created.
Is there a step I need to complete to enable the Apache server to start? I must be missing something - the Apache folder is there in the install folder.
The *./opmnctl status* reports:

I now know I'm missing the <ias-component id="HTTP_Server"> in the opmn.xml file. The following is from an older install of a few years ago.

Snow Leopard Server doesn't seem to be filtering spam....

Hi everyone-
For some reason, lots of spam keeps getting through my mail server even though I have Junk Filtering turned on and set at 2 hits (pretty close to "Aggressive"). I also have RBLs (sbl.spamhaus.org, xbl.spamhaus.org, and bl.spamcop.net) setup but that hasn't seem to help much.

You can get a big improvement in spam filtering by turning on Language Guesser in SpamAssassin. (The accepted language settings do not work until this is changed)
Open a terminal window on the server and edit /etc/mail/spamassassin/v310.pre
Change the line: *#loadplugin Mail::SpamAssassin::Plugin::TextCat*
to this: *loadplugin Mail::SpamAssassin::Plugin::TextCat*
Also train SpamAssassin - see page 36-37 of http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/MailServicesAdminv10.6.pdf

I installed the oracle 902 but the http quite ?????
I shut down the iis services the http server doesn't take over. in oracle817 the http index page will just pop up.
but in 9i it doesn't.
some other thing i noticed is during the installation sometime the agent service right before the starting http services or just after the scott database creating done. it sometime when through sometime doesn't.
any help?
I basically just want to install apache and use apache to launch my form or other html page.

I'm just not sure about a couple of things, if you could clearify it for me.
At the moment, I am doing the processes in the following order
read request - main method
send reply - HTTPclass
close connection - HTTPclass
I think you are telling me to change when I close the connection, ie the HTTPclass should remain in a while loop for a while (unless the keep-alive is not set).. I did try that, but everytime a new request would come in, the main method would make a new HTTPclass object and service it, rather then the old one servicing it.
I dont quite understand this part
while (read request != EOF)what does end of file have to do with it??

Dot Lock doesn't seem to work

I (purchased!) and installed Dot Lock for my iPhone, largely based on a 4.5 star rating with 2762 reviews. There are no instructions and I cannot figure out how to even use this app. I'm stumbling around beating my head trying to figure out how to create a code and just use the **** app. The only thing I can find is in Settings > Passcode > Passcode Lock is set to off. I set it to on, and the code screen comes up. But you can't enter/create any passcode. You just press the buttons and nothing happens. This is complete BS. And it's not the first security app I've bought (again based on thousands of high ratings - ??) that doesn't seem to operate properly - nor come with any instructions whatsoever.
I have sent two emails to "support" and gotten no response. I am really annoyed by this! Has anyone used "Dot Lock" and can explain to me how the heck this thing works???
I can't even get a refund because "support" doesn't seem to respond and I have no idea what else to do.

My ftp server responds to either the IP Address or the DNS Address www.calmwood.com.au
so i am not understanding how it thinks its different. when its fully referenced

The http server seems not to be there

I installed HTMLDB2.0 and it seems that the installation finished fine. I use a 10GR2 instance and I can see a schema called FLOWS_020000 which has lots of tables in it.
Now I try to find where to (re)start the HTTP server (on a linux box). But it seems that it never has been installed at all. So, no process has a name with HTTP and I even can't find a directory named Apache or a file called dcmctl, like the Oracle HTML DB Installation Guide says.
I installed the Oracle server software 10GR2 completely but didn't anything regarding the Oracle AS.
Seems that there's something missing but I have no clue, what. I assume that not the complete AS is needed, is it?

Hello Brigitte,
The Oracle HTTP server installation is not part of the database or HTML DB installation. You need to do it yourself. You can find the proper software on the 10gR2 companion cd, or you can download it from OTN.
After installing the HTTP server you'll find all the directories and files that you need to complete the post-installation tasks of HTML DB.
You can search this forum for terms like apache or dads.conf, and you'll find several threads on the subject.

Flash doesn't interact while on HTTPS server

I have developed a web based flash app that presents a login
screen when the page is browsed to. Upon successful login it gets
data from a backend database and displays it in the browser. I'm
using Actionscript 3 and use a php script to communicate with the
backend database. It works great when the application is installed
on a HTTP server.
However, with the same app accessed through the same
machine's HTTPS server, the submit button on the login screen seems
to do nothing when clicked. It should either provide a failure
message (on any error) or take me to the data screen (on successful
entry).
I've tried accessing the PHP file (in the .swf's URL Request)
as if it lived both on the HTTP and the HTTPS server. If the .swf
is on the HTTP server it works both ways, and if the .swf is on the
HTTPS server it breaks both ways.
Any idea why flash would stop interacting (the initial
animation does run) when the .swf is put on an HTTPS server?

In flash, go publish setting, HTML tab, Template:

HTTPS
and publish then html, you should be able to see the
published html code, its' codebase & pluginspage attributes is
different with the normal one.

How to deal with deadlock on wwv_flow_data table when http server times out

There are some threads about a deadlock on the wwv_flow_data table. None of them contain a real explanation for this behaviour. In my case I will try to explain what I think is happening. Maybe it helps somebody who is hitting the same matter.
In my case with APEX 3.2.1 I am navigating from one page to another. Doing this APEX will lock the table wwv_flow_data. As soon as the other page is shown the lock will be released. But now this other page contains a bad performing query (standaard report region). After 5 minutes the http server (modplsql) will time out and present the message "No response from the application server" on the screen. In the meanwhile the query is still running on the database server and the lock stays on the wwv_flow_data table.
Normal user behaviour will be that the user will use the back button to return to the previous page and tries it again to navigate to the other page or
the user will try to refresh the page with the bad performing query.
And voila now you will have a deadlock on the wwv_flow_data table since a second session is trying to do the same thing while the first hasn't finished yet.
How to deal with it?
First of all. Have a good look at the bad performing query. Maybe you can improve it that it will succeed before the http server will timeout.
In my case the 11gr1 optimizer couldn't handle a subquery factoring clause in the best way. After changing it back to a classical inline query the problem was solved.
Secondly you could increase the timeout parameter of the http server. Although this not the best way.
Maybe it would better if APEX in a next version would release the lock on the table wwv_flow_date earlier or do a rollback just before the moment that the http server is timing out.

I am trying to send image that was taken by getSnapshot. The problem is that the server respond with this HTTP 100 message.

Euphonix MC Control - doesn't seem to work for me..

Okay, I've been working with an "Euphonix MC Control" for the day.
The jog wheel doesn't seem to want to work in FCP - or it's full on.
The faders don't seem to want to respond to anything at all.
Nothing seems to be customisable, except for the 'softkeys' - which isn't very interesting to me, as I mainly wanted it for the transport, jogwheel, faders, and knobs.
Am I missing something?

It speaks Eucon - which is one of the many competing new control languages there are around. Eucon is a nice idea - uses UDP/TCP packets over ethernet - so it can deal with multiple workstations and so on.
The server software is called "EuControl' - and is licensed with the hardware only, as far as I can see.
Yes - I understand what you are saying about volume knobs - but I think that you may be missing my point, which is that I want to be able to assign these faders to arbitrary controls across Mac OS Apps. I can do it with other midi devices - eg with Automap Pro (though Novation hardware doesn't come with mechanized faders - which is annoying).
Having paid a LOT of money for mechanized faders packeged with supposedly fully customisable server system, it's pretty annoying not to be able to use them outside of FCP and Logic.

Error connecting Jdev with ESB and BPEL - caused by remote HTTP Server

Hi everyone, hopefully someone can help me with my problem.
I have 3 servers in my cluster, one straight web server, one SOA server and one J2EE server. I am trying to configure Jdev for developing SOA applications.
I was able to create the application server connection without a problem, but when I try to create the Integration server connection, I get:
Application Server: OK
BPEL Process Manager Server: FAILED
ESB Server: FAILED
With the details for the failed connections:
BPEL: java.net.ConnectException:Connection refused: connect
ESB: ESB Server connection could not be established.
Connection refused: connect
So, I know why this is happening. The ESB server doesn't have an HTTP server on it; The web server is the server for the BPELControl and the ESBControl.
So, I add the Web Server machine as an AS (it has no oc4j instance) and if I use that AS as the Integration Server, I get OK for BPEL and ESB but a failure for the Application server.
Now I know this topology must be more common than it seems, so hopefully one of you knows how I can work these problems out.

We are in a similar situation, as we have web-server and app-server separate. and soa suite is running on the app-server.
I got the exact same errors as you described in your note.
i am able to deploy services from jdeveloper (per your second posting) even though as & is connection entries raised those errors.
Could you let us know what approach your team is now using with respect to defining connections in jdeveloepr & deploying services? Did you get any suggestions from oracle support, or others, which helped you resolve this situation ? (even though we are able to deploy the services, the connection entry test errors are kind of annoying)

What do I need for Oracle Http Server with mod_plsql on Linux 64bit?

I am trying to get the OHS onto a linux box but I am not quite sure I am installing the correct thing!!
I currently have a windows box running the 10g Application server but everything seems to have changed since then and there seems to be several different things to do with the Fusion Middleware and stuff. I've tried to find an overview in plain english of what all these things are but all I can find are lots of marketing buzzwords!
All in need to to be able to run the OHS with the mod_plsql so I can run my apex application. I'd be greatfull if someone could point me in the right direction for what I need to install!
The box it is going on is a CentOS Linux 64bit machine. I've download and installed Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Rel 1 (10.3.3) using the generic installer for the 64 bit java but there seems to be no http server despite it saying there is! Most likely I am doing something wrong but the installer finishes successfully but nothing is running on port 7001.
Do I actually need the WebTier instead? Is that the best solution for running the OHS with mod_plsql? Do I need the WebLogic install as well? Unfortunately I am fairly new to Linux as well which isn't helping!!

Well, you have two options:
- Use the OHS from the OFM WebTier Utilities distro. (To use 11.1.1.3 version, you need both the 11.1.1.2 and 11.1.1.3 distros)
- Use the OHS from the DB Companion Disk distro.
WebLogic Server is a Java EE application with an HTTP server included, but not intended to be used as a replacement of OHS/Apache. It doesn't support mod's...

Policy Agent 2.2 for Apache HTTP Server

I'm trying to configure Policy Agent 2.2 for apache http server.
The agent seems to be installed properly, in fact when I access the protected resource, I get the Access Manager login page.
Then I log into access manager, but I'm redirected to an error page.

I tried to change the name of the agent either in its AMAgent.properties or in Access Manager "Agents" configuration page.
I also used "crypt_util" to generate a new passoword, but nothing seems to happen.
Where should I look to get more info about this problem? Specific log file?
Is it due to wrong name/id/password of the agent? I really checked them many times...

I think the error message "Application user ID is not valid" is pretty self evident.
Log into the amconsole and go to the root realm/organization. Make sure the Agent profile exists and reset the password again to know value. If you created the agent profile in a sub realm/organization, you will need to make sure the subrealm/organization is set in the AMAgent.properties since the default value is / for the root realm/organization. Update the AMAgent.properties file will the Agent ID and the password generated by the crypt_it tool (com.sun.am.policy.am.username, com.sun.am.policy.am.password)
If that doesn't work, check the amApplication debug log and then look at the ldap server access logs to see why the auth bind failed.
