  • I need a firefox versin that is not 4.0 to be able to use bill pay with my bank how do i get it? they need to update their website to use firfox 4.0

    Hi,
    My bill pay program worked with the older version of Firefox (see url below). It does not work with the most current one. I can either wait until they get it to work with firefox 4.0 which may be never, change banks or maybe (please) you have some easy fix that will work for them so I don't have to uninstall 4.0 and re-install an older version of firefox which I can't seem to find on your website, sigh.
    so bottom line is there an easy fix and if not can I get an older version of Firefox to use?
    Thanks,
    Cathy

    In some cases, the incompatibility is due to the new HTML5 parser in Firefox 4. You could disable that and test whether the bank site works again.
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it should turn bold).
    Then reload the bank page and see whether it works.
    And if you need it, here's the process to roll back:
    First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
    Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
    Close Firefox 4.
    You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
    Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
    Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

  • I have a new Mac, I am having trouble accessing Bill Pay on my banking site. After 2 unsuccessful calls to my bank, I thought I would ask here....is there something I need to do?

    I have a new Mac. I am having trouble accessing the Bill Pay on my bank site. After 2 unsuccessful calls to my bank I thought I would try here. Is there anything I need to change in my settings?

    We can't really say without more information.  It could just be that your bank site stinks and only works in Internet Explorer, which means you can't use it without Windows.  It could be that it relies on Flash or Java and you don't have either installed.  Your bank should be able to tell you if it requires either of those, and we can tell you where to get those things.  Or it could be something else entirely.

  • "Bill Pay" feature on bank web site no longer works

    My bank has a "bill pay" feature. I can log into the secure bank site pages without a problem, and get account information, transfer funds, etc. When I try to do the bill pay page, it simply does not load and reverts back to the previous page.
    Things work as usual in Safari.
    I think this began after I did the most recent update this morning (2/19). Nothing crashed; no error messages. I'm not aware of having changed any preference items.
    I restarted the computer and Firefox. I am protected by a virus program.

    You can try to return to the previous version of Firefox 11 for Mac:
    <br> http://www.mozilla.org/products/download.html?product=firefox-11.0&os=osx&lang=en-US
    Let me know how that works for you.
    I also predicted that customer support from banks would be less than helpful. See my reply at the very bottom of this post. They could at the very least note the issue and forward that to their IT department or webmaster of the site.
    Banks don't like browsers that constantly change their code. They don't like testing if new releases of these browsers (Firefox & Google Chrome) are compatible with their site. Maybe they're cheap or too lazy to try. The majority of them only test compatibility with IE. But in the effort of fairness, Chrome & Firefox change their code too frequently to be sure they are compatible with most sites. But Safari does not, so they have no excuse there and at the very least your bill pay should work with that.
    I found this "Contact Us" page:
    <br> http://www.premiermembers.org/home/cont
    But the only choice that fits is "Other". And who knows if they'll read that.
    Also for your T-mobile issue I have hunch about that. Could you start a new thread for that issue? It makes for a cleaner discussion and stops us from sending the owner of this thread email alerts.
    Link to create new thread:

    '''My original reply to this banking issue I forgot to post months ago:'''
    <br> Thanks for the link. Yeah, I too have used Firefox for years over on Chase's website and fortunately I haven't hit any errors.
    The other problem I remember is that Firefox developers can't diagnose bank website problems unless they have an account with the bank. Since they can't just register a free account for testing like at a forum or Ebay. So that really sucks. They have to wait for the bank to conduct their own testing (and that's assuming the bank even cares enough to do it) or hope one of the Firefox nerds that know how to do bug regression hunting comes along and also happens to have a bank account at that site.

  • Used wrong payment method when paying with PayPal account!

    Hello, Okay so I bought tickets on StubHub and when it asked me how I would like to pay, I checked my PayPal account. But it never said which payment method from PayPal it would charge. I have my PayPal Credit as my default payment method so I assumed it would have been my PayPal Credit account that gets charged. But now I see that a hugh amount was debited out of my bank. I wanted to use my PayPal Credit account to pay because it's such a hugh amount. My question is; can I transfer the payment to my PayPal Credit account and get the money credited back to my bank account? I would like to pay incrementally and I can't afford to give up such a hugh amount all at once. I'm afraid I'll have to cancel the payment if I can't do that. Please help!!! Thanks!

    It just says done when I try to pay bills. It must be something with

  • Service Disconnect for Late Bill Pay

    VERIZON IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They are quick to disconnect you when you do not pay on time. I was hospitalizedand just got out yesterday. This morning my internet and TV were diconnected and I immediately paid the bill online (using my At&T Apple Ipad 3G connection)  That was noon.  It is 8:10 at night and after several telephone calls my TV is still not working. You cannot tell me that it takes 24 to 48 hours to reconnect a signal by computer.
    VERIZON IS PUNISHING ME FOR MY LATE PAYMENT. I spoke to Comcast this evening (yes, they answer their phones 24 hours a day) and they will be out in the morning with a film crew and an installation team. When I told them about the Fios cable being run acrossmy garage roof and nailed to the roof they were speechless. When I told them there were holes in the wall in my den where the installer  "missed" by only a foot when drilling from the basement they laughed. When I told them that I had an appointment on August 24 between the hours of 8AM and 12 Noon and no one has yet to come to review the shoddy installation, they assured me that would not happen with them.
    Yes, Fios has a great quality picture, but I do not have any picture today and I am tired of my neigbors laughing at the wire that runs across my roof without any attempt to conceal it in any way.
    Think twice before switching, the picture may be good buit the service stinks!!!!

  • Address to pay bill through bank auto bill pay?

    I am trying to set-up auto bill pay through my bank in Oregon and need the address that verizon uses for this type of payment.

    Rhasker:
    I have been using my bank's bill pay service for 20+ years with no problems, and no missed payments.
    The simplest thing to do is to set up the bill payment using the same address that you would mail your personal check to.
    Make sure that you use your proper account number --not just your telephone number.
    Your bank will then either use that address, or they will decide to use an electronic address provided to them by Verizon.
    Note: when you set up that particular payment option they may automatically offer you the option to use the 'address' they have 'on file'.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

    I have (sorry forgot to add that). I was switched around and finally I was told I would be put through to a supervisor but after being on hold for about 10 minutes the phone went dead, I did not lose connection so I do not know if I was hung up on or there was some technical difficulty. I called again yesterday and did in fact speak with a supervisor for Account Security but he told me he did not know why it was happening and put me through to a different number but that ended up not being any helpful either. That's when I decided to give it a shot on here!

  • Re: Former customer's access to online bill pay blocked - no way to pay last bill - Brilliant Verizon!

    Branched from Former customer's access to online bill pay blocked - no way to pay last bill - Brilliant Verizon!
    It is a brilliant move on Verizon's part - brilliant if the never want a customer to return.  I've been a loyal customer for many years, but when I switched, not only was the guy I had given lots of sales over the years to in the mall a jerk to me when I asked for my account number, but when I tried to get a copy of my disconnected bill, it won't let you access it.  Yes, you can, if you can find your flipping account number, pay your disconnected bill online.  However, you will never find a copy of your bill.  Why?  Verizon wants to punish leaving customers so they can't get their ETF's paid by another company.  This reminds me of the horrible AT&T days where they got so big they started treating everybody like crap.  Blockbuster did the same thing.  It will come back to haunt Verizon as everybody I know is fleeing their service.  I give them credit, their phone service is superior in quality, but I will never go back because of the way I've been treated as I try to leave for a better deal since I am having financial difficulties this year.  I might would have come back but not now.  On top of that, they have a trick where they won't port out one number of the set you are trying to port.  When you finally get through on the line to get it shut off, they tell you they can't turn it off until the next billing cycle.  So though I shut off all the phones but one - one week into the billing cycle, I got charged for ALL 5 phones for the entire month.  This because they insisted they couldn't shut off that final $20 per month phone.  After three dropped calls that took me 20 minutes each to get through to a live person, they then told me they could have shut it off and their employee told me wrong.  They said they'd send it for "Review" after which - you guessed it - I'm supposed to "Call back" - an act of God and congress and taking a day off work so I can keep trying and keep sitting on hold forever later.... I'll let you know what happens.  I'm telling everyone I know, like I did with AT&T to NEVER do business with them.  They used to be great, until they got big.  So if anybody finds some way to get their final bill, I'd love to know because I've spent hours on the phone and online trying.

    Did you not get the final copy of the bill in the mail via United States Postal Service?
    What about older bills? Did you keep any paper copies? Download a PDF copy of the electronic bill at some point?
