HTTPService still not reporting status 500
I was told that the HTTPService (using POST) has been enhaced
to better report server side errors. In particular, when the server
responds with a status 500 one is not able to see the actual error
from the server.
This problem still exists and as a result makes using Flex as
an RIA platform not play by the rules. Meaning, one can't have
multiple front end applications using the same server side
application without having to do special things for Flex
applications.
Since the http socket in browsers support this capability I
don't understand why Flash player has limitations in this regard.
More importantly, is this going to be fixed?
The issue:
someone installed the SUP role for SCCM 2007 and configured it for the separate WSUS server (on Windows server 2012). They didn't select "Create all WSUS reporting events"for the SUP role, and we have abandoned SCCM's SUP role. So now all of our clients
are still updating with our WSUS server but not reporting status.
Yeah, I hate when that happens, and you're not the first victim of this particular scenario. The setting can be reset via the API, and I believe that there's a VB script or a PowerShell script (or maybe both) on CodePlex that can be used to reset the reporting
option on the WSUS server.
Actually, since this is a WSUS v6 server, you may be able to configure it directly using PowerShell now, given the assortment of API functionality that is now exposed in PowerShell.
If not natively, also check out the PoshWSUS package, which almost certainly supports this option configuration.
Arguably when converting from a SUP to a standalone WSUS server, it would be better to build the WSUS server from scratch, which also would eliminate this issue. Consider how many superseded updates were expired by Configuration Manager, that NOW...
maybe you don't want to be expired? (Or worse, have already been deleted by the Server Cleanup Wizard because they
were expired.)

Intel I350 SR-IOV Suddenly Stopped Working While Hyper-V Still Not Reporting as Network as Degraded
After working for almost a year without issues, SR-IOV functionality suddenly quit working. The NIC is an Intel I350-T4 and the OS is Windows Server 2012 R2.
Looking at the event logs in the parent, here's an example of the message indicating failure:

I've looked at John Howard's detailed, "Everything you wanted to know about SR-IOV in Hyper-V" series and followed the steps in part 8 (http://blogs.technet.com/b/jhoward/archive/2012/03/21/everything-you-wanted-to-know-about-sr-iov-in-hyper-v-part-8.aspx)
to see if that would lead me to the resolution. Unfortunately, most of the error conditions that he mentions are paired with a 'Degraded' status and status messages with suggested reasons.
Unfortunately, the network connections in my case are listed as 'OK', and so I'm not sure where to go next to find out what changed and why SR-IOV is enabled on the NIC, virtual switch, and virtual NIC... and yet still not functional and not reporting as
degraded.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
PaulThought I would add this information to this thread since it came up while I was trying to figure out my issue. It turns out that the Network adapters on my motherboard the I350-AM4 support SR-IOV based on Intels website
http://ark.intel.com/products/52966/Intel-Ethernet-Controller-I350-AM4
But my motherboard manufacture for some reason has disabled this functionality.
http://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1007259/
So the lesson learned here is to check both the Adapter support and the motherboard support for SR-IOV. I still don't understand why the same exact NPU would have SR-IOV disabled but yet use the same drivers with the option to turn on SR-IOV... VMDq does
work though fyi.

We have recently upgraded our WSUS server to Windows 2012 R2. Now none of the PCs reporting their status to the WSUS server and not getting updates at all. The PCs are contacting the Server but not reporting their status. Stopped the Firewall on Client and
Server. BITS and windows updates services are running.
Record the system time of the Windows 7 client.
Reboot the Windows 7 client.
Run this command from a command prompt: wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow.
Wait =30= minutes.
Performed the above steps. Please see the updates logs from a client.

"this computer has not reported status yet"
I am trying to configure the SC 2012 R2 ConfigMgr to deploy Endpoint to our client computers and replace the old WSUS server.
I have created a boundary based on IP range (so that it does not mess with the other computers until we retire the old WSUS) and two boundary groups (one for content location and one for site assignment).
The ConfigMgr (device collections) "knows" the OU for the test computers. When I go to assets & compliance \ overview \ devices, I can see the computers from the OU : site code is correct, client is "no" and client type is "none".
The Update Services console "sees" the computer (correct name, correct IP) but the status remains at "not yet reported".
I had to mannually install the client agent from \\sccmserver\sms_site\client. According to Update Services, the server version is 6.3.9600.16384. According to WindowsUpdate.log on the client computer, Client version is Core : 7.9.9600.16422 & Aux :
7.9.9600.16384.
Any suggestion for my next move ?

Client diagnostic output show all pass except at:
useWuserver is enabled .... pass the error message:
VerifyWUServerURL() failed with hr=0x80072efe
the connection with the server was terminated abnormally
end
any input is appreciated. Many ThanksFirst, per the subject line, if your WSUS server really is still Build 226, then you need to patch it, and that would likely account for client connectivity issues.
VerifyWUServerURL() failed with hr=0x80072efe
Second, the 0x80072EFE error, specifically, is a connection aborted error.
Something is breaking the connection between the client and the server. The client is not using a proxy server. Does it need to use a proxy server? Are there any other devices (routers, web filters, etc.) between this client and the WSUS server? Are they
on the same IP Subnet?

Second battery does not report status correct - probably BIOS bug
Hi,
I have a T61 laptop and recently bought a second battery (for the CD drive slot).
The problem is, the status of the second battery is not properly reported. Sometimes it doesn't show the status (charging, discharging etc.), sometimes even not the capacity. This is a problem, as this can cause my laptop to shut down when one battery is running out of power, while the other is still full.
This happens both in windows and linux. You can see some more details here:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17832
I'm pretty sure that this is a bug in the BIOS. Is there any way I can contact the people who are working on the BIOS? I tried to use the web support form to get in contact, but the support told me to contact the nearest service center - not very helpful. On its home page http://www.ngolde.de/yacpi.html is a mention that there may possibly problems with battery status. You should probably try to contact the developer.

I'm running WSUS 3.0 SP2 (3.2.7600.226) on Windows 2008R2 with SQL Server 2008R2 Standard (Max db size 524,272 terabytes)
I am not using SSL for updates, nor to contact my upstream server.
I have rebuilt this server four times since Feb 5. This may be related to the problem
When I look at the computers, it indicates none of them are responding (one was, but it has since stopped). In the last rebuild, I created a test OU in my AD and applied group policy to only computers in that OU. so right now i'm managing one
computer, it is not responding.
Using information gleaned from this article (http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/372404-wsus-some-clients-fail-to-report-status-please-help) I
tried the following:
clientdiag.exe reported no errors
group policy is being enforced
I can browse to 8530 on my WSUS server from the client machine
I removed the susclientid and susclientidvalid registry keys and ran wuauclt /resetauthorization. The keys repopulated a couple times, but the most recent time, they did not.
I show that the selfupdate url works (in windowsupdate.log)
My WindowsUpdate.log for a wuauclt /detectnow complains of

I found several articles telling me to install KB272011 and/or 2734608, but when i install them, WSUS has a stroke (i can't synchronize, i cant view synchronization history, i can't run any reports, i can't remove the updates and while i can find
workarounds for 272011, they don't work for 2734608). So right now i do not have them installed. I am fresh from the first synchronization with one computer being managed.
I've additionally tested the urls for SimpleAuthWebService and ReportingWebService that are logged in the WindowsUpdate log and SimpleAuthWebService loads in the browser, ReportingWebService claims it is set to remote only so it throws an error, but it responds.
Are there perhaps other, newer patches for wsus that would solve my signature validation problem? Do I have to jump up and down on one leg while holding my nose and applying the patches to keep them from giving my WSUS server a stroke? (I followed
the directions here most recently (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2734608) and the result was as described. Synchronization history crashes wsus, running a report crashes wsus)
Is the failure to validate the signature related to the failure to re-create the susclientid and susclientidvalid keys?
ThanksI have applied this patch. The desktop is not reporting but it is reporting a new error (see below)
I now have two computers being managed, the wsus server itself which is reporting, and the
I added the wsus server to the computers list using gpo and that server is reporting. As mentioned, the desktop is still not reporting but is reporting a new error.
Here is the contents of windowsupdatel.log. I am researching the error code, but haven't yet found a solution.

Not reporting computers list?
Is there a way to set up something to show me a list of the computers that haven't reported in 30 days so I don't have to hunt through all our set up groups to find the 8 or so offenders?
From the WSUS Administration console, click Options, and then click
Personalization. On the To Do List tab, select the following item:
Computers have not reported status for more than 30 days
That won't give the O.P. what he's asking for. The ONLY thing this option does is supress (or not) the item from the To-Do List popup. It does not provide a list of the machines not reporting -- which was the original request, was it not?

AES not reporting to Experian.
Hey everyone, my private loans were recently transferred to AES in early May. I have made the required private loan payments to AES for May and June. However, AES is still not reporting to Experian, and it is now July. I thought major student loan servicers report to all 3 credit bureaus. Or is it possible that AES has decided to report only to Equifax and Transunion? If so, I would have to check those two credit files instead.
Any given lender is not required to report or even use all three CRAs (although there may be more specific rules for federal loans, I'm not sure). I've never heard that AES doesn't report to Experian, but it is possible. Have you contacted them? It may also just be taking a while for everything to update, it can sometimes take up to 90 days.

After SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 update Client won't report status message back
We had SCCM 2012 R2 CU3, just updated it to CU4 (all site servers and clients) last week.
Right after the clients received the CU4 update (no reboot), I saw these started popping up the event log:
The ConfigMgr Client encountered a certificate for Management Point SCCM that could not be verified.
I checked online and it has to do with trusted root key mismatch, but there was no site change. The only thing we did was upgrading from CU3 to CU4.
Right now the symptom is that all these clients do not report status messages back to the MP so we have no idea how our deployments would go.i am having what i think is a similar issue. i upgraded to CU4 and the only clients to report back in are my SCCM site server and my only DP server. no clients have reported in since. i checked a few clients and they did get the CU4 client update
and installed it but they are not reporting back
I have pretty much the same situation.
A successfully upgrade to SCCM 2012 r2 cu4 on the primary site.
Deployed the cu4 to a few computers which was successfully. Later I also deployed the cu4 to the primary site server and it turned out to be the only computer reporting back with the proper client version.
There is no errors or warnings in the event logs which could explain this strange issue. As far as I can tell the clients is operational but they are just not reporting back with the proper client version. A quick look at the sccm client
logs has also not revealed the root cause.
Any ideas would be appreciated a lot.

Server 2012 R2 - WSUS - Win 7 reporting status, Win 8 not
Hi,
We have WSUS running in Server 2012 R2 standard. I have a handful of Win 7 PCs reporting status successfully. All other Win 7 and Win 8/8.1 have "not yet reported".
Looked at the windowsupdate.txt to compare a Win 7 working PC to a Win 8.1 non-working PC. Found this difference: Win7 is using
http://hccsus01:8530/ClientWebService/client.asmx and Win 8.1 is using
https://fe2.ws.microsoft.com/v6/ClientWebService/client.asmx

HTTP Status 500 message when attempting to open Financial Report.
In a new 9.3.1 installation (BI, Essbase, HFM, Planning) I am unable to run Financial Reports in Workspace. As a test, I have created a simple report, using Studio, which has only boilerplate text - no grids or anything else that requires a DB connection. The report previews fine from the Studio client but when I attempt an HTML preview or when I attempt to run the report from within Workspace, I receive an HTTP Status 500 error in the right panel in Workspace. Below is the text of the error. I am using IIS 6 with Tomcat. My troubleshooting effort have been around IIS and BI configuration. I am able to open Web Analysis documents without any trouble. Any suggestions you may have would be appreciated.

I have re-registed with HSS repeatedly as well as scrubbed the logs.Hi again Ramana,
Did you try any of the following:
1.) Delete Tomcat cache with the following steps
Stop Tomcat.
Remove the folders from <Tomcat\work\Catalina\localhost> directory.
Start Tomcat. (it will delay a few minutes)
The cache will be recreated automatically.
2.) Redeploy Explorer application with wdeploy tool (Location: <install_dir>\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\wdeploy)
Syntax
wdeploy <WEB_APP_SERVER> [-D<PROPERTY>=<value>] <ACTION>
Example
-- Undeploy
wdeploy tomcat7 -DAPP=explorer undeploy
-- Deploy
wdeploy tomcat7 -DAPP=explorer deploy

please help me out, i have a release to QA todayfindbykey method failed because it tried to access 0'th element of the array/list with size 0?
maybe acegi filters out elements to be returned so it returns empty collection and some logic knows that there should be elements returned so tries to access first element on array/list but there is nothing since acegi has filtered data out? -
