Hyp 9.2 + Oracle 11g giving DasCommException Error

Hi there.
We are running Hyperion 9.2. This weekend we upgraded one of the databases that we query with Hyperion from Oracle 10g to 11g/RAC. Everything works OK, except when someone tries to move a table into an existing query from the table catalog. Users get an error the following error:
Exception in processMessage: com.brio.one.services.das.proxy.DasCommException
Has anyone seen this before, or does anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot?
Leema

Oracle Timestamp is not supported with Interactive Reporting when using oracle net/oracle in the OCE for System 9 - hence the error.
Post 11.1.1, Timestamp is supported even when the OCE contains Oracle net/Oracle - No error will be obtained and bqy will process correctly.

  • Oracle 11g XE - Installation Error

    I am trying to install oracle xe 11g on my Win XP. The installation goes thru well. But when we start the database it starts too. However If I want to login it wont allow.
    I tried to use connect using sys account as sysdba I get the following message:
    Connected to an idle instance.
    After some investigation I figured that there is a script that is not properly formatted in 'postDBCreation.sql". The following is the change that I found the error:
    create spfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\dbs/spfileXE.ora' FROM pfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\config\scripts\init.ora';
    This should have been like below
    create spfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\dbs\spfileXE.ora' FROM pfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\config\scripts\init.ora';
    After this change I tried to run XE.Bat file but it is throughing all kinds of SQL errors.
    Can someone tell me what is wrong with this beta version of the Oracle 11g XE installation.
    Lastly get started link also is not working too!!!
    Thanks much in advance,
    SB

  • Oracle 11g install failure, error, Failed to allocate port(s)

    I'm having a very hard time reinstalling Oracle 11gR1 x64 bit after the hard drive where I first installed it failed and had to be replaced. The database I'm trying to setup is for personal use on this system only. I'm running Windows XP professional 64 bit edition and have .net framework version 1.1.4322.573 installed.
    During installation the process hangs at the Database Configuration Assistant stage and will not progress till I manually end the lsnrctl.exe process in taskmanager. During the completing database process at the end I get this error -
    SEVERE: Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range(s) for the following process(es): JMS [5540-5559],RMI [5520-5539],Database Control [5500-5519],EM Agent [3938] | [1830-1849]
    My first thoughts were the ports in question were in use or closed but I've been using both netbios and a port monitor program called currports to check and as far as I can tell the ports listed are open and not in use.
    I did reconfigure the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files to include valid port addresses (1521) and I can get the lsnrctl.exe to start manually now but still can't connect to the database using an open SQL command prompt.
    I also tried running the emca.bat but still no change. I need help, I'm beating my head against the wall now.

  • Any error come oracle 11g r1 n 11g r2 installed in same ORACLE_BASE

    Hello ,
    if I had installed oracle 11g r2 in same oracle base where oracle 11g r1 was already existing,,,ll there b any problem going to occur .

    Sahil Soni wrote:
    Thanx Mr. Bakker ,
    but as I had installed oracle 11g r1 and oracle 11g r2 in same ORACLE_BASEEach installation should be in its own directory, indicated by ORACLE_HOME. Normally, the two ORACLE_HOME directories would be under the same ORACLE_BASE directory.
    my oracle 11g r1 database was not getting up but oracle 11g r2 database was connecting properly using sysdba till yesterday and today i found that oracle 11g r2 database is also not able to coonect to sysdba and giving me error
    ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact.
    What is the reason behind this?There could be all kinds of things going on here. What is your OS? What is the value of the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID environment variables for the process trying to connect? Are you trying to connect from the same machine that is running the database? EXACTLY how are you trying to connect?
    Best if you log on to the server as an account that is a member of the DBA (ORA_DBA if Windows), then fire up a command prompt. Copy the following and paste it into your command prompt:
    env | sort
    sqlplus / as sysdbaThen copy the results and paste back here.

  • Getting errors for  date related queries  in oracle 11G

    Hi,
    We are having oracle 10.2.0 version and all the date queries are running , but one database has been upgraded to oracle 11g.
    Those queries are giving errors :
    SELECT * FROM USERLOGMST WHERE TO_DATE(LOGINDATE,'YYYYMMDD')>=SYSDATE-60
    Ora-01841: (full) yearmust bee between -4713 and +9999, and not be 0.
    But the same query is giving output in 10.2.0
    Can any one suggest me in rectifying this problem.
    thankyou

    But the same query is giving output in 10.2.0First step - find a few values that are causing the error:
    e.g.
    select max(logindate), min(logindate) from userlogmst;This may return perfectly reasonable dates, in which case you could use a pl/sql function to scan and report bad dates.

  • Error while creating a JDBC connection to Oracle 11g using WLS 6.1

    Hi
    I am trying to connect to Oracle 11g database on Weblogic 6.1 server.
    First of all i would like to know if this is compatible?
    The environement that i have is this
    1. JDK 1.3
    2. Database 11g is on remote system
    3. Oracle client on my local system ( Connecting to the 11g DB through the client works fine)
    4. Weblogic server 6.1
    5. Currently the application is connected to Oracle 10g DB and working fine(We are attempting to move it to 11g)
    Below are the steps that i followed to create the connection:
    1. Made an entry for the datasource in config.xml under <WLS_DOMAIN>/config folder as below
    <JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
    MaxCapacity="4" Name="CADConnectionPool"
    Properties="user=abc_proxy;password=proxy_abc;dll=ocijdbc8;protocol=thin"
    RefreshMinutes="5" ShrinkPeriodMinutes="10" Targets="CAsvr"
    TestConnectionsOnRelease="true" TestConnectionsOnReserve="true"
    TestTableName="dual" URL="jdbc:oracle:thin:@gen11t-ora.db.lab.xyz.com:1530:GEN11T"/>
    2. Restarted the server.
    3. Ran the application and get the following error on the server console:
    <Aug 22, 2011 12:39:42 AM CDT> <Error> <JDBC> <Cannot startup connection pool "C

    The driver being used by your weblogic is too old and incompatible with the DBMS. Upgrade the driver.

    Hello;
    Generally for the connection to work you need to add something like this to the listener.ora file :
    (SID_DESC =
        (global_dbname = STANDBY.hostname)
        (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2)
        (sid_name = STANDBY)
    )You should stop and start the listener on the Standby after adding this. Also your tnsnames.ora must be correct on both the primary and the Standby.
    Also you need an INIT for the Standby side :
    STANDBY.__db_cache_size=343932928
    STANDBY.__java_pool_size=4194304
    STANDBY.__large_pool_size=4194304

    Keys to success
    1. New Standby start NOMOUNT on new password file. ( On Oracle 11 you must copy and rename the file from Primary server )
    2. Hard coded listener on new Standby server.
    3. Correct tnsnames.ora files.
    4. Correct duplicate command.

    I tried reinstalling again and it worked on Vmware Server.Some oracle products are certified on Oracle VM , but not RAC at the moment.
    You can download Oracle VM from otn.oracle.com
    Check ML Note:464754.1 for details about Certified Software on Oracle VM.
