Hyperion 5.5 Windows XP

I have a lot of old Hyperion Enterprise 5.5 data sitting on a server, but our firm upgraded to 6.4 some time ago. Are the applications from 5.5 compatible with 6.4 and if I setup a new box to hold the 5.5 data is Windows XP pro compatible? Thanks for the help.

I don't 'need' to install SP2, there is nothing in it that justifies installing it! I have my own Firewall/Ad Blocker/Virus Scanner/Spyware Scanner and so by the time I've disabled all the crap MS enables by default I might as well have stayed with SP!! I've installed SP2 for a few friends before and the problems it caused in games and other software was a joke, I had to reinstall one system and go back to SP! No way am I further screwing up my system that was, until yesterday, perfectly fine without SP2!
DEP was the main culprit causing programs to not execute and god knows what stuff BITS is downloading without you knowing, it even prevented me installing Nvidia drivers preferring to download and install it's own outdated ones instead! I had to uninstall those and pull out the cable to the modem before I could install them!
I don't believe installing SP2 is the answer as these Li've drivers have been out a long time before SP2, and the windows drivers are even older and Windows Update does not have newer ones so why would installing SP2 help? In fact, i've probably installed most of the SP2 updates via Windows Update already!
No, the Li've drivers have done something to my config or left a file in that doesn't get uninstalled. I'm going to manually try and delete every file and registry entry for my card and see if I can solve this without resorting to SP2! In fact, let's forget about SP2 or better still, let's pretend it just doesn't exist!

Hyperion pop-up windows popping up incorrectly

Every pop-up window in Hyperion is popping up such that only the very left edge of the window shows. I can drag it around, but I cannot drag it open from a corner or double-click it to maximize it. The functionality of the pop-up window is still in place, but I cannot see it what it says. It is so very annoying. I can't get any work done with it doing that. Any ideas?

Photobucket uses javascripts, some of which are not from reputable sources. I can't see your image(s).
Are you trying to use Interactive Reporting on a 2nd display. Oracle says that's not supported. You'll have to correct the registry entries for placement and sizing of the windows.
In Windows 7 with IE 7 or 8 installed, the following code in a .js file has worked for me to get the script editor properly placed (but it may not work for you):

Hyperion Backup of Windows and Oracle DB

Hi, I have a question regarding Hyperion System 9 backup of windowsservers and Oracle/Essbase backup. Do we need to bring down all the services and backup all windowsservers and Oracle/Essbase together. If we need to restoreonly windows or lets say Oracle. Will that be out of sync. Hello, You did not specify which relation Essbase and Oracle have in your environment. I my answer I assume you create Essbase databases from your Oracle environment to analyze this data. You extract with SQL statements and rule files data from Oracle to build up your outlines and load the data. In this, I would not say you need a synchronous backup, since with a new refresh your structure will be created and the data loaded. I've been happy with 8GB RAM on a HP Pavilion dv6 with quad-core i5 2.3GHz. I'm running 64-bit Windows 7, 64-bit Oracle 11g, WebLogic, IIS, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Access Mgr, BPEL, DRM 11.1.2, DRM WDK, etc. and I can productively work on email, documents, presentations, etc. with all of that running. With 4GB and a dual-core processor you can get it running but your machine will struggle at times. When I bring up the Oracle database and the DRM service, before any versions are loaded my machine is utilizing over 5GB RAM.

Hyperion Planning on Window 2008 R2 Platform

Good morning All,
Could someone please advise me on the best practice to develop Planning Architecture running on Window 2008 R2 and using SQL 2008 using VM servers.
I'd be helpful you have experience in clustering, virtualized/Physical & operating instance.
Other questionwould be around scalability (disk space, processor and space requirements)...And then requirement per user added.

Websphere Express Installation 5.1.2 for Hyperion products on Windows

My clients wants to install Websphere Express 5.1.2 on Windowsmachine. Has anyone ever installed websphere express 5.1.2 ? Any steps,pointers would be appreciated. Level of complication etc.

Installation problem with windows server 2003 64 bit

Hi,
EDGE/Crystal Reports Server and Enterprise are no native 64bit applications. That does mean that they only run in 32bit mode. But you can install it on a 64bit hardware with a 64bit OS.

Does Captivate 2 work in Windows 7?

Yes I know everyone will think it's incredible that we've still got Captivate 2 but it was running fine up until we got Windows 7 installed at work.
We can get it to load up but it's not recording properly.

In planning 11.1.1.3, a user that is not provisioned to run HBR can still run HBR in Planning form.
Also, this bug: hidden rows in Planning forms will show in Smartview.

Resize script editor window

Hello,
Is it possible to resize Hyperion script editor window? Or is it possible to use another script editor.
In my documents, the scripts are 300 lines long and the script editor displays only 11 lines!

Issues when installing Hyperion 9 BI+ IR client

Hi,
I was trying installing Hyperion IR on Windows Vista.I already installed the license server.
There are two issues I am facing.
1.The Hyperion License Service is not starting
2.While installing IR client it's throwing an error as CLS0000014.
Plz advise.

OBIEE effecting hyperion service

Hi experts,
i dont know if this is the correct forum to ask this question . i have two services in one server i.e. OBIEE and EPM . both are running simultanously . when i restart the OBIEE service then EPM automatically shuts down and i again need to start it manually . unfortunatly no proper reason is specified in the error logs . i would like to know if there is any connection between these two applicatons and what is causing the problem for this .

Do you have your environment variables setup correctly for essbase. ARBORPATH and either PATH on windows or LD_LIBRARY_PATH on Linux or Unix. The dll you mentioned is actually located in the path bin directory specified below.
For example;
Linux:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/data/app/oracle/Hyperion/Analytic ServicesClient/bin/:
ARBORPATH=/data/app/oracle/Hyperion/AnalyticServic esClient/
Windows:

Installing Hyperion Home to D: from C: drive puts Icons on C: Start Menu

Here is an unexpected outcome. I installed EPM11 on a new partition D: with Windows Server 2003. I ran the install from the C: pointing the Installer to D: to create the Hyperion Home. Well the installation put the files on D: but running it from C: caused the registry entries and the Startup Menu to land on the C: interface. I wanted everything on the D drive. Running from C: was a mistake. Don't do it if you want Start menu on the new O/S

EAS server error: Could not connect to administration Server

Hi,
I have installed Hyperion suite in Windows server 2008 R2. It was working fine but now when i tried to login in to the EAS console, I am getting the following error:
"Server Error: Could not connect to administration server".
I tried accessing the same through the web URL and I found "404 error - file or directory not found".
I verified all my services are up and running fine. I am able to connect to the essbase sever through Excel as well as planning.

Sorry for replying late.
I ran the EPM diagnostic and found EAS & APS application are failed. So as you mentioned, i tried re-deployment through EPM configurator.
But Re-configuration fails with error "An unexpected error occurred and the application will have to shut down" .
