Hyperlink back to a datagridview

Hi.  I am using cr. 10.5 and visual studio 2008.  I have a crystal report that was written in the application.  I would like to have the user be able to click on a ID (that is on the detail line) and open a datagridview with that record on it.  Then the user could update the notes area on the record.  I've been trying to set up a hyperlink in the cr report on the ID field, but I can't seen to get the syntax correct to link it.  I would appreciate any available help.  I've about exhausted all my other tek sites to find an example of what I want to do.
Thanks
Cathy

Why not use a formula to construct a hyperlink to take you to your datagrid action page? You could use a formula like this to grab the primary key of your database table.
stringVar hyperlink := "http://mysite.com/datagrid.aspx?id=";
hyperlink := hyperlink + ToText({Customer.Customer ID}, 0);

  • How Do I create a Hyperlink back to a keynote file on a certain slide

In my Keynote presentation I have a demo on (say for example) slide 30 which contains a hyperlink to another keynote file, at the end of this keynote file I want to create a hyperlink back to the original presentation from slide 30 or 31. Any ideas?

Tulse is, as usual, absolutely correct. The only way to accomplish what you want is to divide your "main" presentation into two parts (per your example between Slides # 30 and #31) and then Hyperlink to and back from the "third part."
To make this as seamless as possible to your audience, add an extra slide after #30, before #31, and as the first and last slides of your "third" (insert) presentation. Make all of these full-screen black (just create a black rectangle that exceeds the borders of the slide). Dissolve into or out of each of these black slides as appropriate. Then use the black rectangles at the end of part-one and the insert as the "triggers" for the Hyperlink to the next part. You will need to Click on these at the appropriate times to initiate the Hyperlink transitions. (Sadly, Hyperlinks cannot occur Automatically.)
The result will be a fade-to-black (Click to Hyperlink) fade-from-black at each of the transitions.
    Good luck.

  • Help with hyperlinks back to home page

    Hi all,
I have just uploaded my website and found my links don't work back to my home page once I have uploaded my webpage.
The link works from the home page to the other pages but then you have to press the 'back' button in order to view the others - any thoughts ?
Also any ideas on how to change the web address bar as for some reason it is showing my web address twice ?
    Thanks in advance guys !
    SiAles

Usually this is caused by some object covering the navigation. Do a Command A on the page in iWeb to show all and see if you can see anything.
Otherwise post the URL to a page.
Look at this page to see how to remove the site name from the URL...

    Hi
Create two links one Back and one Next in each report.
Drag two free standing cells in the report and use opendocument syntax to create the links.
The thread Re: Hyperlink Back functionality may give an idea.

  • Hyperlinking with Navto://

I am having very sporadic behavior when using navto hyperlinking. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Is there a bug?

    Mark -
Not sure if this is your problem - but I have come across a similar huge annoyance in that cutting and pasting hyperlinked objects from one document to another - say with a navto:// or an HTMLResource/ reference - maintains a reference to the source file.
    A very simple example -
You have a two page folio - it contains an index page and a content page in both horizontal and vertical orientations.
You create an object on the content_v.indd page with a hyperlink back to the index page - navto://index
You then copy and past that object from content_v.indd to content_h.indd
The hyperlink will not work on content_h.indd
If you look closely at the URL of the pasted object in content_h.indd - the URL is - content_vnavto://index
you would expect it to remain - navto://index
but for some reason it prepends the name of the source file to the URL.
There may be a reason for this - but i can't seem to find it - and it creates double the effort - which is a huge deal in creating multi page documents.

  • How can I close a file when going back to my master presentation?

I have about 20 large presentations with mixed video and images that are controlled from a master presentation. When I run a presentation and then go back to the master the presentation, the one I just showed remains open. These are really big and I don't want them to be open unless I'm showing them. Everything is running fine but I don't want a glitch in the middle of the presentations because I run out of memory or even virtual memory.
Any of you figured out how to close a presentation when you hyperlink back to the master file?
    Thanks - Larry

Check with Apple support. Had to go to the expert to get the answer. If you use the hyperlink to open up different Keynote files and return to the main menu file it will leave the other presentation open. So if you have presentations using QT video it will run out of VM based on the disk space you have.
    Weird....

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - go to your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
3 - launch iWeb and try again.

  • Exporting to QT interactive, hyperlinks dead until audio/video stops

    Keynote v3.0
I am making a simple presentation for export to Interactive Quicktime.
    I have only 3 slides
    1) A menu with hyperlinks to the other 2 slides
    2) A slide with a QT movie
    3) A slide with mp3 audio
Each of the media slides has a hyperlink back to the menu. When previewing in Keynote, as expected the link back to menu stops the video or audio playing and goes back to the menu.
Butwhen I export to interactive or hyperlink only QT, while the video or audio is playing the hyperlinks and/or spacebar do not work until the media has finished playing.
An alternative for me would be to publish to flash, but then neither the video nor audio actually play
    Can anyone help please?

I noticed this in Keynote 2. I have no idea how to fix it, but I KNOW QT supports it because Apple's previous theme demo on the iDVD page (it's gone now) was a QT movie and you could interrupt it by clicking another button.

  • Hyperlinking Between Multiple InDesign-Generated PDFs

    Hi all. Here's my scenario:
    Windows XP, InDesign CS3
We're working on a quarterly publication that contains an index. We want the index to be cumulative going forward. For example, the April 2008 issue will just have April 2008 articles listed in the index but the June 2008 issue will have April + June articles listed in the index.
We want to have the index listing link back to the respective articles. So I've figured out that in June I can:
    1. Create the June index items using the InDesign index feature. This creates hyperlinks back to the articles (if we set up reference markers).
    2. Open the April issue next to the June issue and copy and paste the April index over to the June file. This will copy the April hyperlinks over too but MAINTAINING their link to their April file.
    3. Merge the two lists manually.
So then we export April and June to two separate PDFs. When I open the June PDF and click on a June article name in the Index, it hyperlinks to the June article. When I click on an April article name, it opens the April PDF and takes me to the respective April article. BUT... it closes the June PDF!
I don't want the June PDF to close... I want it to stay open so when I'm done with April's article, I can close the April PDF and the June PDF is waiting for me in the background.
I know that I can edit the carried-over April hyperlinks by hand in Acrobat to make them "open in a new window" - but is there any chance that there's a way (or a script or a default setting) to make all the hyperlinks to another PDF open in a new window without editing them all by hand in Acrobat?
I know this is a convoluted question so THANK YOU just for taking the time to read it over and think about it.
    All suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks!
    -Jessie

Publisher can create CMYK files, you go save as, then choose PDF, then click on Options or something and change it to Commercial Press.  This is Microsoft's version of the Press Quality export setting in Indesign, with it converting all images to CMYK, downsampling to 300dpi etc.
NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS WAY TO CREATE PRINT FILES FROM PUBLISHER!!!!
    Have I made myself clear?
The CMYK images created this way have a terrible sort of under colour removal.  Think for example of a dark blue garment, where most of the garment is  something like 100C 60M 0Y 60K, but in the shadows it goes darker than  that, up to 100K.  Well in that area of 95 to 100% black in the image Publisher will convert it to only that, with no other colours underneath it.  But the areas surrounding it will be rich black.  This won't show up on digital proofs, even hi res ripped inkjets, and won't even show up on a press pass unless the machine has drying, because it is not until the ink dries off that you notice these weird photos....  Anyway what I do has already been said above.
    1. Refry it first.
    2. You should be able to sync your settings.
    3. No, it just thinks it can.
In this case I actually had the Publisher files as well, so I printed them to PDF using Acrobat, and the images were fine.  Problem is the client had gotten used to text and other elements the way they looked using Publishers crappy CMYK export so I had to combine that with the proper images by cropping in Indesign..
    Here's examples of what happens:
    CMY channels only, BAD!
    CMY channels only, GOOD!

  • How to Create a "FAQ" page where the top of page has all the Hyperlinks

    Hi,
On iWeb, how do I Create a "FAQ" page where the top of page has all the Questions as Hyperlinks.
The hyperlinks would not actually link to a separate page, but would automatically scroll the page to the spot where the question is answered.
    An good example is below:
    http://www.cardrunners.com/members/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=102 &Itemid=2
    Thanks for your help!

    Sarah,
As is pointed out what you would like to do is old fashioned Anchors, real easy on a conventional site but not so easy in iWeb.
I made an FAQ by just making questions followed by answers and increasing font size and using bold to make the questions stand out so it is easy to use.
Much more work for you but will approximate what you are trying to achieve is this: On the FAQ page make your list of questions each of which you will make into a hyperlink to go to another page. For every question add a blank page to write the answer on. Uncheck the relevant box so that that page does not appear in the navigation bar. Write your answer on that page then under it make a hyperlink back to the FAQ page. The page would also by default have the normal navigation menu at the top, but adding a "Close Window" or "Back To FAQ" link that is actually just a hyperlink to the FAQ page is helpful for site visitors.
While a lot of work to make the extra pages it should work well and solve your problem.
The simplicity of iWeb soon provides problems as soon as you want to do more than the basics offered.

  • Keynote hyperlinking

I am crafting a rolling trivia presentation. I have a home slide that has hyperlinks to all of the categories of my trivia. Each category is a seperate keynote presentation that I advance through via the space bar. Is there a way to set up the category presentations, so that at the end, the final space bar stroke will hyperlink back to my categories page? Failing that, is there a better way for me to set up the Trivia while maitaining its ease of change?

Hyperlinks need objects to hold the hyperlink and you need to click on the object to activate the link - this means that just using the spacebar won't work, you will have to click on the object.
Try this: On the last slide in each subset Keynote file, create an object (a shape or image) - it can be invisible with no fill or border, and it can cover the entire slide if nothing else needs to be clicked on. Just be sure you know where the object is so you can click on it.
With the object selected, assign a hyperlink back to the Home Slide.
Note: Hyperlinks to other Keynote files can only link to the first slide of the file, so your use of a single Home Slide will work fine.

  • Hyperlinking between two keynote presentations

Im a professional presenter who's always used microsoft powerpoint (been using powerpoint on a macbook pro). In Powerpoint, you can create a presentation, and then insert hyperlinks to navigate to any number of other powerpoint presentations.  During a presentation (obvisouly in presenter view) when you click on hyperlink in (say) your 'master' presentation (I'll call it 'master'), then you go to slide 1 in the hyperlinked presentation (lets call this presentation 'hyper 1'). At the end of the 'hyper 1' presentation, when you click through past the last slide, you then end up back on the same slide that you were on in the 'master' presentation (the slide that had the hyperlink on it to start with)... still in presenter view. Most of the audience has no idea that this even happened - its seamless. And you can do this any number of times over during the same slide show, to get to other presentations and back again to your 'master' presentation. Apple's Keynote seems to not allow this. If I do the above in Keynote, then at the end of the 'hyper' presentation the slide show escapes out of presentation mode. I found suggestions in help forums to use cmd+tab or cmd+shift+tab but this doesnt work. And even if it did it would not be ideal... because if you accidentally hit advance on the last slide of a hyperlinked presentation it will then escapse presenter mode - pklus you will need to know that it's the last slide. Also, you then have to step up to your computer, and I need a mouse controlled solution (on that note, I use a remote mouse when presenting, which allows me to move the cursor). As a work-around, I tried inserting another hyperlink on the last slide of the (say) 'hyper 1' presentation... but you guessed it already... it then takes you to slide 1 in your 'home' presentation, and not back to where you were (and you cant instruct it to go to a specific slide). By the way, the reason I do this is to allow me the freedom to navigate as I please in presentations, as oposed to being trapped with just the sequence of the slides in one presentation. HELP!

I found a solution to this by accident when doing a presentation a few days ago in a classroom, just because I do a lot of copying and pasting of old stuff into new presentations.
Take the last slide of 'Hyper 1' and copy it over into the 'master'
Inside master, create a hyperlink in the copied slide to the slide you want to return to.
Then recopy the copied slide (with the new hyperlink) back into 'Hyper 1' .  If the accident I saw occur in my own presentation is on track, when you click the hyperlink in the slide now, it should take you to the slide you had created the hyperlink for when the copied slide was being edited in 'master'.
    Does that make sense?
Both presentations have to have been already saved somewhere for this to work.
You can do this with individual shapes/images I think as well.

  • LInks over shape doesn't work

I just recently reformatted my iWeb pages and I love them. The problem is that most of them are buried under a pictures category (I want them that way). When I created hyperlinks in iWeb it changed the color of my font. So I inserted a shape behind the text and put the hyperlinks there.
That doesn't work. I also tried putting the hyperlinks back on the text and when I publish, they don't work either. I like the shapes and don't want to remove them. How can I keep the pink shapes under my pictures page and keep the text white?
    http://web.mac.com/kryst1012/iWeb/Krystin/Photos.html

Keep all of your shapes right where they are! To make your text into hyperlinks then, just insert another shape...make it big or small enough to cover your text. Go ahead and drag it right over your text. Now attach the hyperlink to this shape. Now in the INspector, click over to the Graphics tab and change the opacity of this shape to 1%.
You have now created a "hotspot" hyperlink over your text! All without moving any of your other shapes around! Publish and see the results... Let me know if it works out for you!

  • PDF Maker adding text in header and footer

As I convert documents from MS Word to .pdf, I am experiencing a problem with what looks like additional text being placed in front of a field, which references a bookmark in my Word document.
The additional code is showing up in header and footers only.
When I place a reference field in the body of my document it converts properly. However, when it does convert properly in the body, it creates a hyperlink back to the referenced word - which is not my intention. My intent was to create a bookmarked area in my Word document that will propagate its contents throughout the document (in the header/footer etc...).
The additional text seems to be the code Word uses to reference the Word bookmark.
I recently updated from Professional 7 to 8 and installed the 8.1.2 update. This is the first time I have had this problem!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bill

I had this a long time ago and one of my students pointed out a setting in WORD. Unfortunately I do not remember the item that had to be fixed, but it was definitely a WORD problem.
