My iphone 4s was stolen i have locked and set it up to erase content when the iphone is turned on, it has 'find my iphone' on it will i still be able to track it if it turns on? PLEASE HELP really want to find it

Once again, the Find My iPhone app has no effect on this.
Find My iPhone must be enabled with your iCloud account settings on the iPhone.
Location Services must be enabled.
The iPhone must be connected to the internet via an available wi-fi network or via the carrier's cellular network.
If the iPhone is powered off, none of the Find My iPhone features can work, and the same if the thief or whoever has access to the iPhone has restored the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone on another computer. -
my ipad mini has been stolen and i have activated the find my iphone to lock. now it is only a wifi device so what are the chances that a person can get hold of it and log onto wifi without the password of my device to unlock. does that not make the app rather less useful as i have to hope that the person is apt enough to log onto the internet but not enough to erase it and start afresh. is it possible to find my device even afte someone has erased it?

I recently replaced my iphone and took 6 weeks of new pictures, I plugged it to my computer and by accident I restored the back from 4 months ago and erased my new pictures. How can I recover the new pictures ?? Help!!
Sorry those pics might be gone, since you restored from your backup.
Only way possible if by some possibility you were able to backup your current data to itunes, then you can restore from that backup.
Open itunes - edit - preference - devices - backup - see if there is an up to date backup.
If you don't have one then sorry those pics are gone. -
I accidentally erased my phone from Find my Iphone App and I have a sim lock on my phone - now it wont let me restore. any ideas?
When I try to connect to itunes, It states ''The sim card of this phone is PIN locked - please enter the PIN code of your SIM card and connect again to iTunes" however I don't have the option to enter the Pin code on my phone as on my phone screen it states "your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporaily unavailable"

How do I keep family members from locking or erasing a devce while viewing it from find My iPhone?
I have just subscribed to family sharing. I notice that when I sign into find my iPhone using a family member's device, all devices are visible. This is could be helpful and convenient, but I don't like the idea that family members can lock and erase anyone's device. How do I prevent this without turning off find my iPhone?
Family sharing allows you to see each other's location and device. It isn't their iCloud account, which is where locking or erasing could be done with their account password.

I have had my iPhone 4S unlocked by my provider. I am successfully using a monthly plan and a new SIM card. I have given the iPhone to my husband. We would like to erase my data so my husband can add his and use the Cloud to back up his data. If we go through the erase process what is the safest way to do this so we don't re-lock the phone and disable the current SIM card?

If it was unlocked legitimately it will never relock. As you said you have sent this to your carrier to unlock this will always be unlocked however many times you restore the phone.

I need to erase my old (unused currently) phone so my kids can use it on wi-fi and play games but it's locked & I don't remember the pass code. Any one know how to erase it and start over without the pass code.

Using "Find my iPhone" I mistakenly touched either Erase or Lock! What now???
My friend seems to have Locked or Erased his iMac!
When first started it asked for his PIN, but the iMac wouldn't respond to it.
('m now learning that the PIN that he used is the PIN to unlock his iPhone, as it didn't ask him to create a PIN.)
Now when I restart I'm brought to a screen which wants to know if I want to resotre from a Time Machine backup.?
I go down that road and find my Time Machine backup, but when given a choice of where to restore, his internal hard drive is not shown, only his SuperDuper backup drive. (at least he's well backed up.)

No, there is no OS X analog to iOS's Activation Lock, unless you are referring to an EFI Firmware Password. Use OS X Recovery to remove a Firmware Password if you configured one. If you forgot that password, only Apple will be able to help.

My 3GS Iphone Sim locked by accident. it says to unlock- call my service company which is att-- to get the PIU? I have had iphones through Att for the last 6 years-- I cannot use my phone to call at-t because it is locked.
You can get the PIN Unlock Code (PUK) by logging in to your account www.att.com. Go to My Phone/Device and click "Unblock SIM card".

My iPhone 4s was stolen this weekend and I did the Remote Lock. What exactly does that do? Also, if i do the Remote Wipe will that erase all of my data and impede anyone from ever using the phone?
The remote lock locks the iphone with a passcode that you set. By remote wiping the device it will simply restore it and clear it of all its data, but by doing this it will prevent you tracking it and communicating with it (e.g. remote locking it) in the future

3.Click Lost Mode, then change the information or click Stop Lost Mode.

Believe me, I'm no chicken when it comes to security. Using a combination of a strong alphanumeric passcode laced with non-Latin homoglyphs, Activation Lock (which Find My iPhone automatically enables), a disabled Siri when the phone is locked, a disabled Control Center when the phone is locked (both of those are security risks due to Airplane Mode), and Data Protection (erase phone after 10 failed passcode attempts), there's no doubt someone other than me is going to have a real hard time trying to use my device...
... Or so it seems. I've been digging through the Apple support articles to find out what exactly Activation Lock does, and I noticed that if someone goes into Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings and erases the device in a seemingly authorized manner, Activation Lock gets disabled with it. However, if someone else tries to erase it, or if it's erased remotely, then it will still display the Activation Lock message and require login with the username and passcode used to log in initially. Here's the real issue, though: Not one of those articles mentions what happens when you have Data Protection enabled and Data Protection happens to get set off by a thief attempting to brute force one's passcode, and how nicely Activation Lock plays with it. Does anyone else have that information, just in case?While I have yet to confirm this with Apple, my understanding is that the auto-erase wil leave the Activation Lock intact. AL wouldn't be of much use if a thief could get around it by just entering in the wrong passcode multiple times. You'll forgive me though, I trust, if I don't try to test this with my own device.
