I am about to wipe my HD , my music is backed up, but how do I save my playlists?
Essentially my laptop is getting slow and needs me to wipe everything and start again
I have backed up my music, but don't know how to back up my playlists
I tend to 5* the songs I like.. that "top rated" list is the most important to me.
What files should I archive now, and perhaps drag and drop back into itunes folder once i've reinstalled?

hello my name is kirstie, i updated to firmware 4.2.1 .....my iphone 3g stays on the apple logo for about 4 minutes then flashes white and goes back to the apple screen, it repeats untill battery is flat, every now and then im lucky enough to get it to turn on but not very often and then it freezes and repeats the same problem?? (if i turn the phone off my pressing the two buttons it wont keep rebooting, its only when i leave it after turning it on)
I have reset the phone, full firmware restore, even downgraded back from firmware 4.2.1 to .3.1.3 official by using dfu mode and still doesnt fix.
(i correctly got out of dfu mode after the downgrade)
i can enter dfu mode and recovery, and update through itunes with no problem, but it doesnt fix the problem,
i have searched and found no answer to this problem, every option availible to try that i know of i have tried and failed. i dont care about preserving my content i just want a fix. i have a good understanding how to operate software on a computer and shouldnt be too confused by any advice given, so plz even if the answer is very complex i wish to try anything, please help me to get my iphone working.Anyone have any suggestions? or is everyone else just as clueless as me !

In my macbook pro 15 inch mid 2012 model, my cpu and gpu will get very hot, when gaming or rendering sometimes over 200F. The fans only spin at max about 2900 rpm, when their max is 6400. I downloaded a fan control app, but how can i fix it?

While there are third-party utilities that measure the temperature of a notebook computer, it is important to understand that these utilities are not measuring the external case temperature. The actual case temperature is much lower. You can't install 9.2.1 or earlier on any Mac that is only Mac OS X bootable. In fact you need to use the restore disks which came with those Macs to install 9.2.2 on those Macs. 8.6 is only possible to install on Macs which came with 8.6 or earlier. The 9.1 disk may be useful for your 1999 PowerMac G4, but won't be of any use for a 2006 Powerbook G4.

Thank youThe iPad is fine. But the computer you're syncing with needs to be authorised with the Apple ID that was used to buy the material on the iPad. You do this by picking the 'Authorize' item from the menu in iTunes and entering the account name and password.

I have a 32 GB iPod classic, about 7 yrs. old. It is formatted to Mac, but I no longer have access to a Mac. Can I reformat it to PC (yuk!) without losing my music or screwng it up?
You need to transfer the music from your iPod on to your iTunes library on your PC, since that is where you are currently syncing and where you are signed into iTunes Match. It doesn't matter that you were previously syncing it with a Mac, and you won't need to reinstall iTunes on your PC. But you will have to use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer any music not purchased from the iTunes store from your iPod to your iTunes library. Here's another guide on this, which is shoter and you may find easier to follow: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive. Also, if you're using iTunes 11, go to View>Show Sidebar. This will make it easier to follow along with these guides.

I am trying to update my apps on my 4s but says there is not enough space. It shows i have 19.3 GB of 25 GB. Also, in my itunes...it shows about a quarter of space on the bar is photos but I took all the photos out. Don't make sense.
It's telling you there's not enough space *on your 4S*. The 25GB you refer to is probably that on iCloud, that's different memory than that on your iPhone. You need to delete video, pictures, apps, or whatever ON THE IPHONE, to make enough room for downloading updates to your apps.

it has been only about a month that i bought my macbook pro 15 but it is heating up really fast on the left side even when the cpu usage is only 10%...i'm worried if this is a problem of the hardware?
The way something "feels" is very subjective. We would need to know your actual temps. You can install the free iStat Pro widget which is available as a download directly from Apple:

Let us know what CPU temps you're seeing at the time you feel your machine is hot. As you indicated your CPU usage was only 10%, that would imply that you already know that heavy CPU usage would be one cause for your machine to be running on the warm side... but that doesn't seem to be the cause here. -

Plug your iPhone 5 into your Leopard Machine.
Fire up iPhoto.
The phone should become available in iPhoto, and then you can import the camera roll.

I've erased and formatted the hard drive accordingly in order to reinstall OS X. everything went fine until about half way through the install. it just seems to stop. how long should this take? should i do something else to speed it up?
About all you can do is wait until it finishes or you get an error message.

I have a 64GB iPad2 and selected to "Automatically fill free space with songs".... will it have to download that 60GB of music to my ipad everytime I sync? It took about 8 hours to sync the music to it.
I did this last night at 10pm thinking it would take 30 minutes to sync these 10,000 songs or so to my ipad to take up the 64 GB. I went to bed because it was taking so long and woke up at 6am and it was just about to finish. It finished around 630am. So it took a good 8 hours to sync.
I unhooked it and used it for an hour or so and then hooked it backup so that I could update a few apps on it. When i did that it acted like it was re-adding all of those songs again and it took about 8 hours again to sync all the music. Was that just a fluke because I made changes to the ipad? or will it always calculate and then re-sync alllllllllllllllllll of those 10,000 songs?
