I am having trouble re-recording audio inside Keynote

I recorded audio inside Keynote, but then added a few slides. I can't for the life of me figure out how to erase the audio and re-record the presentation.
Also, I don't seem to be able to re-record each Keynote slide independently. I need to export this all as a playable Quicktime movie.
My issues:
1) It will not let me Clear the recording
2) It will keep the old recording if I try to record over it (Record Slideshow) under Play --> Record Slideshow
3) I try to use Audio section to the R of the slide and Record and it will not let me record.
I have concluded there is a bug in Keynote, but am I missing anything? I need this for work to put on our company's website. How can I get help to resolve this? I thought about trying to import the presentation to another computer with Keynote but otherwise I am out of ideas...

Which version of Keynote are you using ( Keynote > About Keynore)
To clear the recording in versions 5 to 6.5: Inspector > Document > Audio then click the Clear button
Once the recording is cleared you can re-record a voice over.

You can try removing app then reinstalling. If that doesn't work
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

just the audio, eh?. If you were using DVI or DisplayPort that might be different, but for audio alone, it shouldn't be that hard. Just grab a 3.5 mm stereo plug to 2 rca cables adapter. Plug the smaller end into the back of your Mac Pro (or the Front), where you see either the headphone or speaker icon). Alt-click on the speaker icon at the top of your screen to show all audio inputs and outputs. Make sure it's set to Line Out. Plug the red and white end into the audio in jacks on the back of your tv and set it to the correct input. I don't know if your tv will allow just the audio to play. Usually one has to connect up something else, but hopefully I'm wrong. If you were using DVI, or DisplayPort, you'd need an active DVI--HDMI adapter or a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, but

Trouble effectively recording audio

I have my microphone hooked up through my Fantom G8 and I am using Logic Pro 8 software. My problem is when I try to record in Logic Pro, it will not recognize my microphone. This is weird because it recognizes it on the G8. Also, once I hit record in Logic Pro, the music that I am trying to record over will stop playing and I can hear nothing.
This is a mystery. I previously solved this problem by creating an aggregate device incorporating the Fantom G8 with the Built-In output and Built-In input and trying different orders of those three, setting the clock master to different ones. However, now it does not want to work consistently.
I am very familiar with creating an aggregate device. I understand that the order in which the devices within the aggregate device are placed determines the order in which they correspond to inputs and outputs, like 1-2, 3-4, etc. Maybe I am not setting up my audio tracks in logic properly. Should I put no output for the tracks I will be audio recording on, and no input on the track that will play the music?
Please give me some direction, it would be highly appreciated.. Bee Jay was very helpful initially, but the problem persists. Thanks.

I have tried deleting all previous Aggregate devices. The Fantom comes up simply as Roland Fantom G 44.1 kHz. I wish it showed up as separate input and output devices so I could select only the Fantom Input, that potentially could make things easier.
I have always used both built in audio input and output, and now I will set built in output as the clock master, and since it will be first on the list on the aggregate device editor, it will correspond to outputs 1-2 on Logic, and the Roland if I put it second on the list should correspond to input 1.
Do you know if I should use stereo or mono on the logic audio tracks, or specify no input or no output, or if these things even matter?
You are right on about experimentation, thats all I have been doing. Its just puzzling because I had it working in the past without having to do all of this. I simply set up the aggregate device and I was in business. Right now if I open ableton, it plays the music through the built in output and I can record audio through the Fantom no problem, so its got nothing to do with the connections.
I am going to play with it for the next hour using your advice and then I will let you know what happens. I REALLY appreciate your help.

Having someone else record audio in Captivate 5 presentation

Does anyone know how I have someone else record on an captivate 5 presentation if they don't Captivate? I have created online training and I need it translated. They do not need to publish, or create the presentation - they just need to record audio. I had the functionality in Adobe Presenter and I am hoping that it exists in Captivate 5. - Please help!

Welcome to our community
Generally speaking, they can just watch your finished Captivate presentation and use an audio recording application such as Audacity, SoundBooth or other to record the narration. Then they supply that back to you as one or more WAV or MP3 files. You then insert those files into your Captivate projects and re-publish.

I am having trouble with my audio software and CoreAudio (seemingly)

Hi. I use my computer to run several audio-based programs on my Macbook such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live and junXion. Today, when practicing a laptop-based set with a friend, I used firewire into a Digidesign interface (I can't remember the exact make). In order to get this connection to work, I installed Avid's 002 firewire drivers.
Everything worked fine, however later on, after I had disconnected and shut down etc, I was unable to open any of my software that requires CoreAudio. This is quite worrying honestly. They just bounce on the dock for a while but do not open. It seems to stop when it gets to 'Checking MIDI Drivers', and then eventually (after quite a while might I add), it estimates that something is wrong with the MIDI drivers and asks to restart. I have done this several times but nothing has changed.
I noticed that in my audio devices (both input and output), it still says 'Digi CoreAudio Device', even though I am obviously no longer connected to that. I decided to try deleting the 002 firewire drivers from Avid, but this came to no avail, and it still says on my audio devices that the Digi CoreAudio Device is still there.
What is the problem here? Can anyone help me?
Fortunately, my Alesis M1 Active 320 USB monitors still work, and appear in my audio devices whenever I plug them in, and then disappear when disconnected. But it seems that something relating to to these Avid drivers have truly caused everything to go haywire.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Aha! I have sorted it.
For those with similar problems, the solution is this:
Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > MIDI Drivers
Then delete DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin

Hi, I've been trying to solve this problem for several weeks now, and I have exhausted all of my knowledge and experience. I need help, and I hope someone here can give me some direction.
I am using VB 2008, and the CR that comes bundled with VS 2008 Pro. My database is a SQL Server 2005 CE v3.5 (a *.sdf file). I am connecting to the database through a dataset, and I am displaying the report in a CrystalReportViewer.
My dataset consistes of two tables:
1) tblCustomers which has a primary key "CustID", and contains only customer contact and personal information.
2) tblDateVisited which has a primary key of "VisitID", but it also has a column titled "CustID". Basically, every time a customer visits the business, details of that visit are recorded in tblDateVisited, and that record is associated with the customer by their CustID.
Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: I want to be able to display only Customer records when the customer has visited and that visit matches certain criteria. Right now, I am trying to match visits from the "tblVisitDate.PlayerType" column. If the customer has ever had a visit where they matched a particular player type, I want to see those customer records.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, though. I can search a dataset if I am only querying one table and pulling records from that table. However, whenever I try to add a second table and perform queries on that table to get records from the first table, I can't return any records.
If it helps, I am trying to use one CrystalReportViewer to display multiple reports (user choice) and here's how I'm loading the report into the viewer:

Any attempt to assist me with this will be greatly appreciated, successful or not.

I finally figured this out (or at least a way of doing it that seems to work!
In VS create a new, empty datasource with no database objects in it. You'll get a message saying asking if that's what you really want to do.
Add a TableAdapter to the datasource using the 2-table SQL statement with a join but no WHERE clause, in my case:
"SELECT tblMedia., tblTitles. FROM tblMedia LEFT JOIN tblTitles ON tblMedia.ODGMediaID = tblTitles.ODGMediaID "
Make sure Fill a DataTable and Return a DataTable are checked.
Rename the TableAdapter and DataTable to something sensible.
Design the report using the new Dataset.
To display the report in VB with user generated WHERE clause:
strWhere = "WHERE ID=..." etc
strSQL = "SELECT tblMedia., tblTitles. FROM tblMedia LEFT JOIN tblTitles " & _

Having trouble with a audio file. Need help please!

Hello.
This may sound funny and not to related to any of this at first, but if anyone here knows about the game portal, then they know about the ARG that went on during last week and may even still be continuing. None of thats really important but if anyone cares to know, basically VALVe released a new update with 30 new sounds, 26 of them moarse code/sstv pictures. 3 of them called dinosaur_fizzle 1 2 and 3. Infact, each one was named dino_1 dino_2 and so on.
The main sound that no ones been able to crack is called Dinosaur_noise. Its obvious there are voices in it and its some sort of major clue, this file is way out of league with the other ones. No ones solved it 100% or cleaned it enough to make basically anything audible.
Now this started March 1st. Since then i have worked hours on the audio file. I have gotten close, but not close enough.
Thats why im turning to someone here, that can do a through analysis of the audio that adobe or reaper just cannot do.
In the attachments is the original file itself with no editing what so ever.
Heres some collected data.

An analysis was undertaken to find the strongest frequencies acting within "dinosaur_noise". Linear and Logarithmic curves showed sets of dominant figures, with the most being:

Silence in the frequency ranges is located in the band of 10.567 - 15.337 KHz. All frequencies above that are likely to be high frequency poinoning from the FFT process.
Heres what i know personally.
-Noise reduction makes it a lot worse and adds strange harmonics and artifacts.
-Most filters do the same.
-Clear voice around 15 that says THATS AMAZING.

The forum is made up of volunteers who will help others with their LabVIEW problems. But you need to have a specific problem and ask clear questions.
What you are asking for is very unclear. Why do you even want to do a "thorough analysis of the audio"? No one is going to do your project for you.

Newbie having trouble with M-Audio Interface

I'm probably overlooking something obvious, but I cannot get my M-Audio FireWire 1814 to be recognized by my Mac, I've reinstalled the software multiple times and still it tells me that there is no device. (I've been careful not to hot-plug the FireWire connection). Here's my setup: IMac, (running OS X.4.8), Logic Express, M-Audio FireWire 1814, and Korg Trition Studio. I'd appreciate any help.

i don't think that is what the org poster meant. i think they were meaning that he hasn't blown his firewire connection, and that he is letting the m-audio driver load at startup.
i don't think that it had anything to do with m-audio being hot plugable.

I cannot read a stream of characters from the keyboard inside JDB. Just to set context I'm using:
jdk 1.3.1_01 with jdb version 99/06/11 under RedHat(R) Linux(R) 7.1
I've written the following code:

At the shell you run ' java Test ' and it just echoes the input you give to it
Inside jdb you set a breakpoint with ' stop in Test.myRead()'. When there, it stops at line 10; you invoke the 'next' command and it just don't print the message (just becuse it's not a println it just don't flush I suppose); after that the next line to execute is 12; so you invoke 'next' again and the real problem happens! Nothing can be read from the standard input. If you try to run the 'list' command jdb says "Current thread isn't suspended".
Does anyone knows what's going on?

If you use the launching connector to start the debugee,
(this is the default used when you start jdb)
then jdb cannot tell the difference between jdb commands
that you are typing, and other text you want sent to the
debugee program. You will have the same problem with
output going the other way. The debugee program output
will be mixed in with any jdb output that comes along.
This is because the controlling window has only one stdin,
stdout, stderr that both processes (as well as anything else
you are running in that window) are forced to share.
You need to separate the debugger and debugee, as follows:
1) Start the debugee program (HelloWorld in this example)
in one command window:
% java -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,address=4571 HelloWorld
2) In another window, attach your debugger (jdb in this example)
to the debugee via a socket:
% jdb -connect com.sun.jdi.SocketAttach:hostname=localhost,port=4571
You may also use the shared memory transport if you are
on a win32 platform, as follows:
1) In one command window:
% java -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_shmem,server=y,address=mine HelloWorld
2) In a second command window (again using jdb as an example):

My ipod is only a month old, i am having trouble with recording video and volume issues when i oovoo, i can not hear or be heard

Please help! my ipod touch 4g is less than a month old...when i first got it i was able to record video ...in addition i could oovoo but now there is no volume coming or going when i try to oovoo. i can not get screen to open either to record video...what to do?

If the camera shutter is stuck shut, try restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod. If that does not work you have to get the iPod replced by Apple under yur warranty. this is a know problem. See this ongoing discussion:

Having trouble with HDMI audio out or earphones audio out

I have a new 13 MacBookPro running Snow Leopard. I would like to connect to my TV. (I put on Lion and couldn't get it to find the TV at all. I reloaded Snow Leopard and udated the software on the MacBookPro and on the TV itslef. I can't seem to get the audio to go out to my TV using an HDMI cable or the earphone jack. I have tried adjusting the audio in System Preferences > Sound. When I unplug the wire connceting the headphone jack to the TV it plays through the internal speakers. Any ideas?

Sonicray, I have checked my owner's manual and it does say that an additional audio cable may be required. I thoroughly looked over the manual and can find no place where it talks about enabling audio for HDMI. I already have the Moshi Mini DP to HDMI Adapter that is advertised on the Apple Store. I wouldn't mind even using the separate audio cord. Just wish it would work.

Anyone else having trouble with the audio mixer?

I can still adjust levels of individual tracks in real time, but the sliders don't visually move with my mouse. If I stop playback and restart it, the sliders then jump into position where I dragged them. It's like an invisible mixer fader system... This has only been happening since I upgraded to FC Studio 6.
Any suggestions? Should I trash preferences or something? Remind me how to do that, if you don't mind.

If the program was working fine, and now isn't, or just isn't working the way it should, the first things to do are:
1) Trash your FCP preferences. Download the appropriate version of FCP Rescue at FCP RESCUE and run it.
2) Open the Disk Utility and Repair Permissions.
3) Shut down for 10 min. Go for a quick walk around the block and get SOME exercise today. Come back, turn on the computer and see how things are.
4) (optional) Do the Hokey Pokey and turn your self about. Results may vary.
