I am having trouble with my iPhone 4S connecting to my WiFi at my house, is there anything I can do?

I have tried connecting to my WiFi network at my house and my iPhone 4S will not connect, it doesn't show up on the list of networks either. I have tried shutting it off for a couple of minutes and turning it back on my it doesn't work. What can I do?

Syncing an iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.3 or earlier requires at least a G4 Mac running 10.5.8.
Syncing an iPhone 4S running iOS 7 requires at least an Intel Mac running 10.6.8.
If your computer can't be upgraded to the required OS version, buy a secondhand or refurbished one which can.
