I am trying to download the new adobe update for Mac OSX 10.9.5,without success.

I will begin the download and it gets hung up on 25% and eventually the installer will just close itself. I have checked all of the recommendations, i.e. the browser preferences and deleting the filing and starting over. Help?

First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.

I have attempted to download the new update for photoshop cs6 several times .. after downloanding and installing i get an error message U44M1P7 at the end of each attempt .. it appears to be fine until after the download is completed ... i have tried reloading the photoshop and it will errors out ... any suggestions? it is on the new features ... They will be gone from the iphone, but you should be syning all contacts to your computer regularly and should be importing all pics to your computer regularly, particularly before any update.

After admittedly only a quick read the one thing you don't say is how you are trying to make this move. Most people with moving library issues do it the wrong way. Plenty of web sites tell you how to do it the wrong way.
If the iTunes application is started before the drive with the library is fully mounted and awake iTunes will revert back to the internal drive.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/iphone/ipad: File>Transfer Purchases

You have already seen that you cannot load the new iTunes into your 10.5.8, so as Neil says, you need Snow Leopard (current cost £14). And you'll probably need to update the disc you buy via the combo update, though that is free.
As far as the new iTunes is concerned, there's been a certain amount of grumbling so you may want to study the forums before you update. The main problem has been with album artwork which does not transfer easily.

Frustrated beyond belief. Trying to download the new Itunes 11 version so I can sync my phone. It goes thru the whole process, says I was successful and then I get a message - "Apple Mobile Device Failed to start----retry, and retry, same message.

I hit retry and then I get Installation successful followed by error 126. I can not enter Itunes at all now. If I click on the former icon it says MSVCR80.dll for error. You are always at risk of losing your music. If you are worried about it now too it means you don't have a backup. Get one. Soon.
