I am trying to link to page in my document from the table of contents. How can this be done?

The Table of Contents picks up selected named Styles in the text like Head 1, 2 etc.
Have you actually applied the styles?

How do I locate the page I am viewing in the Table of Contents?

Is there a way to open the table of contents to the page that I am already viewing?
If I have searched a document, and I am at some random page, how do I find out where I am in the table of contents? For example, in the eclipse help system and IBM's "info centers" there is a button that opens the table of contents to the nearest page to where I am so that I can guage the general intent of the pages I am reading, find related content or quickly assess that this is not what I'm looking for.
I think the TOC is really a collection of "bookmarks" in a PDF file and not a true TOC, but I would assume that if they are sequential there would be a function to open the nearest one. Can someone tell me if that exists?

If you are running Firefox 4 or higher on the "old" computer, then:
(1) Open Help > Troubleshooting Information
(2) Click the "Open Containing Folder" button next to "Profile Directory"
(3) Copy everything to a safe place (please note that the copy of your profile does contain your browsing history and saved passwords, so best not to store in on media that you insert into public PCs)
You can copy the bookmarkbackups folder to a USB flash drive, then on your new computer, import your bookmarks from there. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing%20up%20and%20restoring%20bookmarks Backing up and restoring bookmarks | How to | Firefox Help].
(To clone your entire setup, after you install Firefox on the new PC, you can close it and replace the contents of the new profile folder with the contents you saved from the old computer. That doesn't always work, though.)

I am trying to determine how I can take an email without an attachment and save it to a folder. I am not able to paste the message anywhere. I can copy but to no avail. I want to set up folders in email to move and save emails. How can this be done?

If you are using iPad Mail app, in the left hand column tap the arrow in the top left corner until you return to where your main email address appears. This is the main account screen.
Then tap the email address/account once.
In the left column in the upper right, tap the Edit button.
At the bottom of the left column/panel there is a New Mailbox button.
Tap the button. At the top of the left column, a keyboard entry field appears.
Thiis is where you tap and enter the name of your new Mailbox folder.
Once done naming, click the done button at the top right of the left column and you are done.
This is how you add additonal mailbox folders to your email account.
Once the mailbox folders you need are created, you can return to any email entry, Tap the Edit button in the upper right of the left column, again. A button appears next to all the emails in the left column.
Tap the buttons for the ones you wish to move to a particular mailbox folder, at the bottom of the left column, choose the Move button, then pick the mailbox folder to move the emails to and they will automatically move to that mailbox folder.

Firefox 8 is still freezing at irregular intervals, usually when trying to load a page or a bookmark from the menu

so far when trying to load pages but once when i had the bookmark menu open and tried to scroll down in it the whole thing froze with the menu fixed on top over everything (including other applications), with similar symptoms as before; 40-50% cpu usage, firefox APPEARS to have hung but comes back after a minute or two. except or the single time the bookmark menu was stuck on top, u can just do other things until firefox comes back.

sorry but the issue that was about is said to be fixed in firefox 8 so i assumed this was not the same bug; also i dont know enough about the addon recommended to know if it is secure enough. the firefox browser is used almost exclusively for use with tor (i should have made this clear in the question...DOH!) and if the places maintenance does anything which bypasses tor it kind of obviates the whole point lol. so i am reluctant to use the addon (and if the bug it was working around is fixed anyways according to the blog entry it wouldnt work anyway). i am not techie enough to audit/test places maintenance or file proper bug reports which would also interfere with the work i am supposed to do with firefox anyways. so i guess my question is really more for information, and in the faint hope other ppl may find the answer. thx for reply anyway

An updated favicon is not visible also after a page reload! How can this be done without deleting the full browser cache?

I updated the favicon on a homepage.
I reloaded the page in firefox but the old favicon remains.
I do not want to delete the whole cache of the browser. A page reload should be enough because other users will not delete the cache to get the new favicon.

Did you try a reload with a cache bypass?
You can reload the page and bypass the cache with:
* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

If you have bookmarked that site then try to remove all bookmarks (open the bookmarks in tabs, click the yellow star and click the Remove button). Then try to reload all pages and create new bookmarks if that works. You may need to close and restart Firefox. You can also use Forget About This Site in the History right-click context menu but that will remove everything relating to that site, including saved passwords and exceptions.

I got my ipad stolen and I locked it and bought a new one. When I am offline and someone tries to call me or message me it goes to my stolen ipad how can this be if it has been locked? Why do they still have access to my contacts/facetime/messages?

I got my Ipad stolen one month ago and bought a new. I locked the stolen one but now everytime someone calls me and my new ipad is offline the calls or messages will go to the stolen one. It is kind of creepy to know that my thiefs can read everything and send messages on my behalf to my contacts.....I have done the find my iphone application and it says that the ipad has not been used however I have family tell me that people that are not me answer the calls... I have also seen messages in my new ipad that I did not write.

So here is the deal. I have purchased a new iPad 3-32 GB and i was trying to sync it with my windows-7 computer. The device option doesn't appear in the I-tunes. What could be the possible problem and how can this be resolved.

Also the ipad is not yet connected to any internet connection but the computer is connected to LAN. I am in desperate need for answers and some guidance.

Linking to PDF Files in the Table of Contents

I know there is a way to link directly to a PDF file from the table of contents, but it is beyond me. Anyone know how to do this?

Hi Kathy
It's probably advisable to first add the PDF as a Baggage File. Then when you are creating the TOC entry point, you point at the Baggage File.
If that wasn't what you were hoping to see, you could also do it by simply linking to the PDF as you would a Web Page by specifying the explicit URL that would open the same file if you were doing it using a browser.

I am trying to sort my documents into folders and name each document. Can this be done

I am new to Pages. I want to put different letters (documents) into a folder - is it possible to name each document within a folder?
Also, I have blank headed paper that I then pull in to use for letters but I then want to retain the blank headed paper afterwards. Is there any way of doing that as it appears that once I have used the headed paper for a letter, it gets filed as the new letter and I lose the blank headed paper.

My home page opens fine but sub pages attempt to load from the local drive. Not a problem with IE.

Some time ago, while doing a bunch of things at once, FF asked me a question...not sure what it was as I was distracted by other things...I answered "yes" and since then my own website's subpages attempt to load from my C drive. This is not a problem with the homepage itself and it does not occur with other browsers. Driving me crazy and no one seems to know what is the problem...only with FireFox

http://www.questfundingservices.us is the home page which opens fine on any browser. But, in FF, any of my sub-pages attempts to open from the local drive. I believe this happens for other viewers of the site, but I am not 100% sure of that.
I never intentionally entered a <BASE local in the html and I don't think there is one, but you can check the source yourself.
This was never a problem until one day, while doing 50 things at once, I went to my website and FF popped up a question...Don't remember what it was and, in my haste I just said "yes", I think...and this problem has occurred ever since!!!
