I am unable to download the Firefox program from the web site

Hi,
I have been trying to replace Firefox on my Laptop because it failed to open.
I removed the Firefox program and went to the Web site using Internet Explorer.
I clicked on the download bitton for Firefox; nothing happened. I clicked on the alternative and again nothing happened.
I can do without Firefox but it would be useful to have. Can you help?

Actually what you are describing is not a Firefox issue as you stated you had previously uninstalled it from your laptop. Internet Explorer 9 has a similar download section now modeled after Firefox, thus if you check your IE download folder you are likely to see the Firefox file in which you would need to proceed to click on to continue the install.

Disable Java Security Warning: Allow access to the following application from this web site?

Dear all,
When I open web intelligence with BI launchpad, this warning has been shown:
"The web site is requesting access and control of the Java application shown above. Allow access only if you trust the web site and know that the application is intended to run on this site.
Allow access to the following application from this web site?"
and it has just three button of "Yes", "No" and "Help".
I go to Java Control Panel and Security tab, then set security level on the "Medium" and add my site in the Exception Site List but this warning is shown each time I open web intelligence.
I have searched the internet very much but I haven't found any solutions for disabling of it. How can I disable this security warning?

Upon selecting the firefox window from the windows 7 taskbar, it is no longer in maximized view

i have windows 7 and firefox 6.0.2 (should be up to date), and almost everytime i select the firefox window in the taskbar, it opens, but only does so exiting maximized screen and returning to the "restore"-mode, i.e. the size that the window normally assumes upon clicking the "restore" button (the one on the top right corner usually between "minimize" and "close").

Difficulties downloading content via ftp from some web sites

I'm having difficulties ftp'ing content from some web sites when using my Airport Extreme (802.11n) base station. The AEBS is running firmware 7.3.2, is connected to a cable modem, and is configured in NAT mode.
The inability to download is independent of any web browser, OS platform or FTP client). Here's what happens:

downloading with Safari gives:
The error was: “unknown error” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1)
with Firefox: it just hangs the browser, no display
with command line ftp:
421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection.
You get the idea. Windows has similar problems, so it isn't limited to the Mac OS.
Other FTP sites work fine, and things seem to work fine when the system is directly connected to the cable modem. This has happened for a while, so it isn't limited to any recent Mac OS X Leopard updates. It's just gotten terribly annoying.
Is something in the AEBS trying to interpret ftp protocol responses from servers while in NAT mode (and breaking them) instead of passing them through?

For some reason when I download the firefox browser from the 'official' mozilla site, it is downloading to my desktop and its files to my desktop even though safari is set to download all files into applications. How do I change this?

When I download firefox from the official mozilla site on my imac it is downloading its files to my desktop, covering my desktop in junk and I can't get rid of it as it is part of the browser. Why is it doing this? Why isn't it downloading to the right place?

Usually the icon on a file will provide indication of hte application used to open it. Highlight the file in Finder and Get Info on it. It should say what is used to open it.
iTunes will not play all file formats. Even some formats such as mp3 which it should in theory play it will not play all versions of the format. Those mp3s may play okay in Quicktime but the file has some small aspect to it which iTunes will not recognize.

What version? I ask because it's kind of a non-concern with a Creative Cloud subscription.
If you have a perpetual license, you can clear up your activation records by calling Adobe Customer Support. If you go to their main page by clicking the red logo at the top of this page, it takes some doing but you can drill down to where you can get a phone number.

Have you tried right clicking on the Firefox and icon and going to ''Send to > Desktop''? That will create a shortcut for Firefox on your desktop.

Getting Server Busy window when trying to download a .pdf file from any web site.

When the "Server Busy" window opens, there are 3 choices: switch to; retry; cancel. I select switch to; it starts downloading the file, but appears to be stuck/locked up at a certain point. I usually have to go to Task Manager and cancel the download. Sometimes, after trying different things, the .pdf succeeds in downloading' can't tell what does/doesn't work. Retry doesn't do anything. Cancel doesn't close the Server Busy window.

I downloaded the latest update from the Apps store and it won't work. I cannot download anothe rbecause the Apps store reads this version installed. What to do? What to dooooo?

How can I get Firefox 3.6 to startup and load at a particular screen position - using cmd-line or other, in a Solaris SPARC/UNIX env? The xterm program uses the -geometry args as a manner of specifying position on the screen.

I am running Firefox 3.6 - on Solaris 10 SPARC env.
I am using the X11 - TWM(X-windows Manager). I have tried to alter the .twmrc files for the WM, but I need firefox to declare the position in the client program, else the TWM will force me to place it every time. When I use the xterm with the "-geometry" I can specify the position the xterm is opened and positioned there automatically. I have tried using the Xresource configuration settings(maybe I am doing something wrong here), but the X-server ignores it... so I believe that only firefox app can manage the positioning?
I am out of ideas, I suppose the next step is to question the source... Any ideas of how I can achieve this auto positioning in TWM. (I have been looking into X-events to manage the placement, but this is messy)

The version of Apache that comes default with Solaris might not be compiled for that I am not positive though. I downloaded and compiled Apach 2 and compiled mod_ssl and got it working with no problems you might want to try that.

My husband has deleted Safari for the 3rd time on his Mac. I am tired of loading the whole program and want to switch him to Firefox (which I use and love)....at this point in time he has no way to get on the internet to download anything....is there a cd with the Firefox program that I could purchase?

I downloaded Blue Fire Reader and it requested an adobe id. I clicked on the link that was in the error message stated http//adeactivateadobe.com. Found out that if the date and time on my Ipad is wrong that it won't let me download a book. I was off 5 hours. I reset my clock settings and adobe id let me download a book from the library. I am back to using Overdrive and adobe again on my ipad.
