I am working with the NI PCI-5411 AWG in arbitrary mode. How change the duty cycle of the square wave output located at the Sync connector by software?
We use Labview 7.0 and NI fgen 2.1 in order to drive the pci card. Can you send me a VI example?
Hi LtDel,
To achieve this you will need to insert an niFgen property node from the niFgen functions palette into your code flow somewhere in amongst the configuration vi steps. Wire up the reference and error inputs and outputs. Left click on the "property" and select >>output attributes>>sync duty cycle high. Right click and set to "write" then wire in a control or constant defining the % duty cycle for the high phase.
Hope this helps,
Nick

My iPad doesn't seem to work with the hdmi connector
I have a first gen iPad and I can't get it to display with the hdmi adapter. My iPad 2seems to work fine. I thought it worked for both gens.
It should work for both generations. It won't mirror with the iPad1, but it should play videos. My iPad1 DID play videos - for a week or two. Then it quit working with the HDMI adapter. Still behaves as before with the Component adapter. Nothing wrong with the cables, tv, etc. Aftyer ruling out all else, I exchanged the Apple HDMI adaprter for a new one - same thing. My iPad1 now has no idea there is an external tv/display connected when using the HDMI adapter. I suspect my mistake was in updating the iPad to the newest iOS software release. I'll bet this is what broke it. The question is: Will this bug be fixed, or is this new non-compliance going to be considered by Apple to be a 'feature'?

I pod doesnt' work with the camera connector and Canon EOS 20D!

iPod Camera Connector: Supported Devices
The iPod Camera Connector requires a Fifth Generation iPod, iPod photo (also known as iPod with color display) and a supported camera or media reader. Other iPods, including iPod mini, iPod nano, iPod (Click Wheel), and iPod shuffle, are not supported with the iPod Camera Connector.
The iPod Camera Connector supports cameras with USB connectivity based on the following commonly used protocols:
PTP
Type 4 (or Normal)
Mass Storage
For the complete list of supported cameras and media readers, see this webpage.
If you're using Mac OS X 10.3.x, you can use Image Capture to quickly verify what protocol your camera supports. To do this:
Connect your camera.
Open Image Capture.
Click Options and then click Device Options.
You can also check your camera's owner manual or the vendor's website to find out what protocols your camera supports. Also see "iPod Camera Connector: Choosing a photo importing protocol on a camera" for additional information. -
Which sata drives will work with the Sonnet Tempo Serial ATA card?
Pretty much any of the SATA 3.0 Gbps drives.
Western Digital Black and Blue and Hitachi 7K drives are all good choices.
If you try a SATA 6.0 Gbps drive, it will need to be jumped to limit to SATA 3.0 Gbps. -
Will Most Windows Peripherals work with the MAC Pro?
Im considering getting a MAC Pro... Unfortunately, I just invested on 2 PCI-E graphics cards (256 MB each)... will they work with the MAC Pro? Will apple sell me a MAC Pro with little options?
Only PCIe cards with EFI type BIOS, so no. They will work in Windows just fine, just not in OS X.
The stock configuration is fine and probably ideal anyway with the Nvidia 7300 GT, though most would recommend Radeon X1900 XT
There is only one 16x lane slot.
you might want to wait until Apple 'refreshes' the one year old Mac Pro line, either in the fall or wait until January MacWorld SF show. (eventually AMDs and Nvidia's latest offerings due later this year have a 99.999% chance of being adopted in some form). -
AO and AI do not appear to work with the M&A Explorer. What could be wrong?
Preliminaries... MAX v3.1.0.3201
Board PCI-MIO-16E-1 (manufactured late 2002)
I have a relatively unused board that a collegue lended to me. After plugging the board into my PC, the AO and AI don't currently work with the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) Test Panel. Specifically, AI all read -10V (even when pulled to AIGnd) and AI all produce -0.40V, regardless of the commanded output. The device passes self test, but the device fails to perform a self-calibration (error -200545), even if all external connections are removed. Is this board defunct? Does it need to be recalibrated? A recalibration seems unlikely to have any effect given that none of the analog i/o values change with manipulation.
As a side note, the digital output functions do work.
Thank you for any advice.
SteveThanks for the input. I either missed the web-based self-test or assumed it was the same as the one included with MAX.
The self calibration, as I previously mentioned, failed with the board disconnected from any cables/inputs. All my previous testing (with the MAX test panels) failed, regardless of using traditional or DAQmx control.
After running the web-based self test, the results are below:
Summary -- Test Results Summary
2/8/2005, 7:18:02 AM, Device 1
PASS: Detection -- Device Detection and Resource
PASS: Single Pulse -- Single Shot Pulse Width Verification
PASS: Continuous Pulse Train -- Buffered Pulse Width Verification
ABORTED: Calibration -- Analog Input Calibration
FAIL: ADC, PGIA -- Analog to Digital Converter and Programmable Amplifier
PASS: Scan Clocks I -- Buffered Analog Input
PASS: Scan Clocks II -- Sampling Frequency and Channel Count
ABORTED: ADC Calibration -- Analog Input Calibration
FAIL: Calibration -- Analog Input Calibration
FAIL: Unstrobed Analog Output -- Digital to Analog Converter
PASS: Output Clocks I -- Analog Output Buffer
PASS: Output Clocks II -- Update Clock Frequency
FAIL: Buffered Analog Output -- Waveform Output Verification
PASS: Digital Lines -- Read/Write Verification
PASS: Digital Ports -- Read/Write Verification
Device 1 did not pass all tests.
National Instruments E Series Device Diagnostics is complete.
Submitting Test Results To National Instruments: Please Wait. . .
Submitting Test Results To National Instruments: FAIL
I'd post the rest, but it's just message after message of tests failing.
The device won't self calibrate, so I had to abort after a few retries.
It's interesting that the web-based self test is so much more advanced than the MAX self-test, which the board passed. I assume that NI doesn't have a replace-for-free program, so I'll have to return this to my collegue (with the bad news), and find one on ebay or the like.

Hello, I've updated the iPhone I have got I have a problem I hope you respond to some of the applications no longer work, such as the safari and skype and many applications are no longer working with the ios7.0.4
Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -
I have a Macbook and iPhone and like to back up to iCloud. However, my work computer runs Outlook 2003, which I know will not work with the iCloud. The company has no plans to update anytime soon. Since the calendar and contact list on my office computer are my primay ones, I hard sync through iTunes. The problem is that any data synced from Outlook 2003 to the iPhone from iTunes does NOT later backup to iCloud. Is there a solution?
I have the same problem with Outlook 2003 and Win XP which the multinational organisation I work for standardises on and will probably stay with forever!

My G2 iPod that I use as an external drive to archive memory cards on the go cannot link with my new 13" Macbook Pro cause it uses a firewire 400 lead. It will not work with a USB lead. Is there a firewire 800 ipod lead or converter available? Can any one shed some light on this please?
As far as I know, if a harddrive works with a Macpro, it should work with the Macbook: if your Macbook is low on power, plug in the AC adapter
If your Macbook has a firewire port, then it should be fine. BUt i would do somemore research first. -
i changed my sim on my iPhone n reconfigured iMessage, it configured with my number but when i sign in with my apple id it says username/password is wrong while in all other things like FaceTime, App Store it worked with the same id and password..
can anyone help me to solve this issuei just opened my ipad, started my apple account/I.D. and realized I put the wrong e mail. I was having trouble correcting my I.D on the Ipad so I went to my laptop and make the proper changes/slash e mail address I wanted for my apple ID. I got back to my ipad and try to download an app I can't because I have to sign in my apple account and I can't because it still has the irrelivant I.D/email address..
So, i did what you said.. went to setting>app store> tapped on my e mail.. it asked me to sign in (with my invalid emails address showing). I signed in with the password I had created. It said "incorrect".. I went to reset password. I reset password, tried to sign in and it says again "unvalid password".. this is getting irritating. I have been asking and no one knows what to do. -
My Viewsonic monitor won't work with the Imac using the Mini Port to DVI adapter.
My Viewsonic monitor won't work with the Imac using the Mini Port to DVI adapter. I also tried the HDMI to DVI adapter ane the Mac-Mini with same result. The monitor does work on my older Macbook Pro that has the DVI connector. Is it a Software/Driver issue ?
Should be extremely simple, please carefully read Connect multiple displays to your Mac. If you still have problems then it's probably a cable issue that would be resolved by replacing the adapter cable. You should be using this adapter. If you are using a third party adapter that might be your problem!

Will the old 23" ACD work with the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapte
Will the old 23" ACD work with the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter and the new MacBook Pro?
Apple Store says it is for the 30" only.
Thanks ... KenI'm not so sure about that. I'd say the jury's still out until someone gets one and tries to use it single-link.

How can I update a Numbers '08 document to work with the current version?
I've had Numbers '08 for quite awhile (obviously). Have a few spreadsheets in it that I tried as an alternative to Excel. I've now got the most current version of Numbers but it won't open the spreadsheets created in the '08 version. I get an error message telling me to save them with Numbers '09, which I do not have.
Is there any way to get these updated to work with the current version? If so, that would be great, would like to try it out. If not, I'm just going to copy this stuff into Excel and be done with Numbers entirely. This is a work-around - but also send feedback to apple that that is pretty low in the 21st century where people may keep data without opening it for a very long time - then need it desperately.
http://www.apple.com/feedback/>Apple - Feedback
Export the spreadsheets to another format - CSV may work - then import into the new version.
Also you could try export to excel format and import. -
I have an iPod Touch and an iPad4. iTunes recognises both items and lets me work with the iPod Touch but won't work with the iPad. In fact iTunes does not respond to clicking on anything in the iPad window even though it knows that it's connected. Any ideas?
Look her and it may give insite on what is missing. Otherwise:
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99. Likely not worth it for a your iPod. They do not fix yours.

A third-party place like the following maybe less. Google for more.
