I can't get any music to sync on my iPOD

I get this error "the song I selected" was not copied to the iPOD because you are not authorized to play it on this computer. I don't know what I did wrong All I did was install it. Can some one help me. My pictures came over fine but no music. What's up?

  • HT1386 I have a brand new Iphone 5, I use Itunes 10.7 I can not get any music on my Iphone,

    I have a new Iphone 5
Add a new music cd to the library and then sync music
    Also tried manual
TRied on several computers for some hours and evenings
Can not get any music on my Iphone at all
Sometimes I get informed that after copy some are not copied as they have the wrong formet
Also tried with a new CD
No fault during sync, but no music

    Good.
    Three things come to mind:
    1.  I think you're implying when you travel away from your home to a more populated area, the cellular coverage improves and your iPhone works well.  Is that right?
    2.  Do you have a case or some other obstruction over or near your iPhone's antenna?  Have you tried moving or removing any possible obstructions near the antenna?
    3.  AT&T has a (free) app in the App Store called "Mark the Spot".  You can use this app to report voice and/or data issues to AT&T, as well as keep up on progress they may be making in improving coverage in your area.  Your trouble reports are geotagged (if you wish).

it recognizes the iPOD but I can't get any of the new songs to import to the iPOD
are you getting an error message, Odessa? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
if you're not getting an error message, describe what happens when you try to transfer songs to the ipod as best you can.

I deleted my music through the "manage storage" section in the options to make room for the ios update awhile back. Now I can't get any music back onto my device through itunes. (I've tried restoring the device twice to no avail)

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I lost my iTunes library on my pc when the hard drive crashed. None of the data on the drive was recoverable and I did not have a backup either locally or on the cloud. Much of the music is from old vinyl and podcasts which are no longer available.
How can I get the music that resides on my ipod nano (4th generation) back onto the new hard drive on my pc.
I have been reluctant to install iTunes on the new hard drive out of fear that I will lose all the contents on the ipod if I try to synch to the new hard drive.

  • I cannot get any music to go onto my iPod.

I have never had this problem before. I plug my ipod into my laptop and the device appears as usual. However, when I go to transfer any songs I place the song over the device but it doesn't highlight it in blue as it always has done. I have tried adding to play lists and it appears as if it has worked, but when I check the ipod, none of the songs have actually gone on. I have looked through discussions on here and it suggests authorising the computer and syncing, none of this has helped either. I have used the side bar to try and put the songs on there too, but when I try to move the songs they have a red circle with line though.
I am clueless as to what else I can try.
    Any help would be appreciated.

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

  • My syncing my iphone to itunes, it constantly gets stuck on step 2 of 8, backing up. I can't get any further to sync any further data. Can anyone help please?

I need someone to help as i cannot sync any music or get my audio message off my phone. How do I get passed step 2 of syncing???

If it's getting stuck in step 2 it probably means the previous backup is corrupt someway. I would remove the last backup (copy it to another location for safe keeping) and then try to backup again manually.
If you tell me what kind of computer you have I can give further instructions for moving your backup to a different location.
What happens if you cancel the sync and do a manual backup?
right click on the device in the left-hand column of itunes, and select backup from the menu that appears.

  • Can't get any music onto shuffle from my iBook!

I have had an ipod mini for a year and a half, and no probs transferring and updating from my iTunes on my iBook(although will not update unless I restart the computer...maybe this is standard, not sure).
I have recently bought a Shuffle, and I intalled the accompanying CD-ROM, then plugged the shuffle in and although it is appearing on the desktop, it is not being recoginised by iTunes. The info booklet that came with the shuffle said it would automatically open up iTunes and let me upload some music, but I can't seem to find anyway to get music onto the shuffle at all. Have tried all the tricks in the trouble shooting section of the info book, but no success on my iBook.
A friend tried it on their PC at home and got music on no problem...it seems ridiculous that I can't get music onto it from an Apple computer.
    any ideas most appreciated
    ciao

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and note your system version; if it is 10.2 through 10.26, you can download the 10.28 updater. For Mac OS X 10.3 systems, you can download the 10.37 updater. If you purchased a new iBook two years ago, it requires Mac OS X 10.3 or newer to run.

  • Can't get any music to load on my nano

Could someone pleeeeeease help me out here - I'm going NUTS!!!
I am trying to put music on my ipod nano using itunes, it is music that I uploaded from CD's or that was already on my computer and is now stored in my itunes library.
I have checked the "manually manage songs & playlists" under preferences and so when I try and drag down my library to my ipod, it tells me that I don't have enough room on my ipod, even though there's only 1.15 GB in my library and my nano should hold 2 GB, then it says it will copy as many as possible, but it still no songs appear on my ipod.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the software, but no luck. still can't get a single song on my ipod. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

  • I can't get any sound to work on my ipod touch

I cannot get any sound on my ipod touch. When I am listening to music the volume bar is not visible and when I am on my apps it says no volume available. Anybody have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?

Here is what Apple Says: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2771
    No sound through internal speaker*
Verify that the iPod touch is not set to pause.
Verify that the volume is set appropriately.
Verify that headphones are not attached to the headphone port.
Verify that Bluetooth stereo headphones are not paired wirelessly.
Try turning the iPod touch off and then on again.
    No sound through headphones*
Verify that there's no debris in the headphone port.
Plug and unplug the headphones. Reconnect headphones and verify the connector is pushed in all the way.
Check the volume setting on your iPod touch.
If you are trying to listen to music and cannot hear any audio, make sure that the music is not paused.
Make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed on the computer that you are syncing the iPod touch with (songs purchased from the iTunes Store using earlier versions of iTunes won't play).
Try another set of Apple headphones.
Try a different song or video.
Check other content, such as videos, to see if they exhibit the same audio issues.

  • I can't get my music from itunes to my ipod

I have been trying to sync my ipod to itunes to get my music and it doesn't do it.  I am new to IPODs so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  Any help would be appreciated.

You can't sync an iPod using Windows Media Player.  You need to add the songs to your iTunes library first, and then sync those songs to the iPod.
This document provides more information (Add to Library section)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1347
NOTE:  The WMA files (the file type used by Window Media Player) need to be unprotected (no DRM).  They are converted to a format supported by iTunes while adding to the iTunes library.  This WMA conversion feature only works in the Windows version of iTunes (Mac users cannot do it).
I believe you can drag and drop the WMA files, or the folder containing the WMA files, onto the iTunes window.  The original WMA files are not changed.  iTunes creates its own converted files at the location it stores all the iTunes media files.
